Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 516: Chapter 315 Parents Who Flaunt Their Kids Are Always in Danger of Getting Beaten

Hill remembered something he had been considering for a long time and hurriedly asked Haiweirsen, ”Did you bring back a lot of mithril? If there’s enough, I want to build a circular mansion here and then expand it with space crystals so that each Earth Bear can have its own place to live.

The main house over there is still a bit small, and there’s no private space.

The alchemy hut used for that main house is already the best I have, but it can only be so big.

If we want to expand the space further, we can only go higher, which isn’t really suitable for Earth Bears to live in.

If we use legendary materials to build the house, expanding it to tens of thousands of square meters is no problem.”

Haiweirsen smiled gently. ”In the last period before the snow, we were constantly collecting mithril ore. The food was stored with Aurelio and brought back in bags. The space rings are all filled with mithril, enough for you to use.

If you need any other materials, just let me know. As long as it’s ore, the Earth Bears won’t have trouble finding it.

Hill, your abilities are strong. For our tribe, this is really a great blessing and fortune.

But we still don’t want you to sacrifice everything for the tribe; you’re still a child!”

”It’s no trouble at all. I have plenty,” Hill smiled. ”Besides, these crystal stones were obtained by selling demi-god artifacts. As for the cedar saplings, that’s something I should do as someone with Earth Bear blood.”

Hill felt that the value of the Ice Snow Ring artifact Aurelio had given him was far higher than all the materials he had provided.

Not to mention, he still had a few demi-god artifacts that hadn’t been sold!

Haiweirsen shook his head with a smile, stood up, and patted his clothes. ”We have more than a month to communicate well. I’ll go back first; there are some things I need to take care of.”

Hill thought that these Earth Bears had just returned to the camp and probably had a lot to discuss and handle, so he didn’t keep the clan leader any longer.

He stood up and saw Haiweirsen off.

Hill was a bit surprised to see Haiweirsen, after returning to his bear form, charging into the main house at full speed. A few minutes later, he came out with dozens of equally large bears and headed straight to the warehouse.

Hearing Haiweirsen’s low growl instructing the Earth Bears to clean the warehouse and put away everything that the little bears shouldn’t touch, Hill couldn’t help but smile.

Compared to forcing Hill to cultivate until he became a demigod to find what he needed in the warehouse, Haiweirsen decided to put in the effort to clean it out first.

Hill didn’t want to refuse his elders’ goodwill. He merely turned and headed towards the main house, taking out the fruit wine he had left. This was something the little bears couldn’t have; it still contained some alcohol.

Unless it was food specifically for the little bears, the Earth Bears wouldn’t leave any good things for later consumption.

Hill didn’t know how long it would take the Earth Bears to finish organizing. Not wanting to spoil the surprise, he returned to his room early to redesign the future ring-shaped mansion.

Hill always remembered Grace’s words. The Earth Bears also wanted a room where they could completely relax and rest.

But except for the main house, only the three families with little bears and Aurelio had their own independent houses.

Even if the remaining small houses were empty, no Earth Bear would live in them; they would rather collectively rest in the main house.

Hill understood that this was to leave space for other mother bears who wanted to have cubs. Since they didn’t have much time back at the tribe’s land, there was no need to waste time and energy building a house for each bear.

But Hill didn’t think the short stay meant the Earth Bears should live a life of hardship and difficulty.

Seeing the Earth Bears collectively gather and try to collect as much mithril ore as possible because they thought it was useful to Hill deeply moved him.

To the Earth Bears, what Hill did with the mithril wasn’t really necessary; this was their once-in-a-few-years rest period.

Hill pressed his pendant and had List find some of his treasured top-quality space crystals.

He was going to build a large structure with hundreds of rooms. If he used ordinary space crystals, the house’s external space would take up a lot of land.

Only these top-quality crystals could expand the space to the extreme of legendary materials.

Even William wouldn’t use such crystals for payment unless Hill’s things were exceptionally good. It was a pure loss item, something with value that couldn’t be measured by market price.

Hill planned the main building in the style of a circular temple, with a central courtyard. The top portion he intended to weave into a transparent skylight using fibers from the Crystal Flower’s branches.

This would be enough to block the swirling snow.

Hill really didn’t understand why it snowed in a place where it didn’t rain.

If the elements were this chaotic, why was snow not problematic?

If there were issues, it would be best to have some mechanism to add a thick mithril plate on top. That should ensure enough safety.

Hill thought if this circular mansion were built, the three families with little bears and Aurelio would also move in.

If that happened, those small houses could be put away, saving a lot of mithril plates.

As for the toys outside, the Earth Bears would never let the little bears stay in the safest place all the time. Even when playing, they would have to be in an environment where they could exercise themselves.

Hill meticulously refined his designs. The sky outside transitioned from white to black, and then back to white again.

The sun was out, but the snow kept falling. Hill could feel the speed of the weather getting colder very quickly.

Even he could feel the rapid temperature drop, a feeling of losing heat.

This wasn’t normal cold. Hill suspected that the planet’s rotation had reached a certain point where the sun’s rays couldn’t shine on the world’s end at all.

Although this place wasn’t very close to the world’s end, the impact was significant enough.

He planned to ask the Earth Bears if the other side plunged into complete darkness when it snowed heavily.

”Hill!” Haiweirsen’s voice rang out from outside the window. Hill quickly opened the door and went out.

”The warehouse is yours now!” the Earth Bear said with a hearty laugh, baring fierce fangs.

Hill didn’t hesitate and promptly headed toward the warehouse. Every bear he saw along the way smiled at him.

In such a big place, filled with an atmosphere of friendliness and goodwill, Hill hadn’t felt such a sense of peace for a long time.

He returned the most sincere smiles to everyone as he walked.

Until he walked inside the warehouse.

Hill looked helplessly at the chaotic cave.

The warehouse was large, no smaller than the main house, and on the taller mountain walls, numerous small caves of varying sizes were packed full, not only with materials but also dozens of shimmering demi-god artifacts.

Logically, Hill should have been delighted.

But the Earth Bears’ idea of organization was merely to put away anything that could harm him; everything else was a messy sight that Hill couldn’t bear to look at.

From top to bottom, various materials were piled chaotically together.

Hill understood why. For the Earth Bears, they could never pick the wrong ore; no matter how messy, grabbing the right one was second nature to them.

But Hill couldn’t accept it; he needed an orderly environment.

It wasn’t the Earth Bears’ fault. In their minds, whatever they could do, Hill should be able to do as well.

Hill was just accustomed to a near-obsessive level of tidiness.

He looked around the warehouse and found its best feature: the cave was very well isolated.

This mountain range should be a divine miracle raised specifically for the Earth Bears. If there was danger, the whole tribe could hide in this cave.

Looking at the thick mountain walls, Hill thought that even if the world collapsed, the Earth Bears might still survive.

Putting his hands on his hips and looking around, Hill encouraged himself.

Smiling at the peeking Haiweirsen to express his sincere thanks, Hill took a deep breath and got to work!

Hill had no choice but to release his usual puppets and let them start organizing the warehouse.

At least separate the various ordinary materials first.

Then he began sorting everything himself.

Hill arranged the various demi-god artifacts and top-tier materials according to their elemental properties in the top caves, placing nameplates below each cave entrance, indicating the use of the demi-god artifact or what the material could make.

And he had to note the value of these things in the outside world.

This was a big project.

But Hill had to do it; the Earth Bears couldn’t avoid interaction with the outside world forever.

If one day they really needed to trade, having Hill’s price list would prevent them from being undercut.

Hill was very busy, but no matter how busy, he always stopped when Haiweirsen came in with the puppets delivering food and ate with the big bear.

Haiweirsen would pass by the warehouse several times a day, looking at Hill with a satisfied, proud expression for a long time.

Hill occasionally heard Haiweirsen boasting to other Earth Bears about how capable Hill was.

When the Earth Bear clan leader boasted too much, other bears would put him in his place.

His intelligence might be unrivaled among the Earth Bears, but his strength wasn’t as formidable.

Every tribe had such a member; one who sacrificed intelligence and placed all skill points into strength.

When that member turned out to be Aurelio’s father, Haiweirsen’s boasting could lead to getting beaten up.

Although Hill was surprised when he first learned that the strongest warrior among the Earth Bears wasn’t Haiweirsen but Aurelio’s father, who was the first Earth Bear created by the Goddess of the Earth,

After a few interactions, Hill understood why Haiweirsen had to pass on the clan leader position.

When the Goddess of the Earth created him, she must’ve only considered his survival without thinking about intelligence.

He was a complete straight-line bear, always charging forward no matter what.

Hill was only grateful that Aurelio’s mother was also exceptionally smart within the tribe.

To prevent Haiweirsen from getting beaten up, Hill had to invite him to bring food and eat with him.
