Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Agleya swaggered over to the side of the Goddess of the Silvermoon, and all the deities tacitly ignored her sudden intrusion.

All the gods knew that she had come to find Hill first.

These past few years, Agleya had been striving diligently in the wilderness. She even threw those sea monsters opposing her to the Undead Tribe without a second thought. With the world restored, she would naturally rush over here.

Who would bother a lively, cute little girl? She was no enemy, after all.

The gods had not been under any sort of intelligence-reducing aura.

Haiweirsen stood at the steps and bent his front knee lightly, ”Welcome to the domain of the Goddess of the Earth. The World Tree awaits you all in the hall.”

He turned his head and noticed Ihab and Hill chatting.

He quickly understood what had transpired.

Since the world’s restoration, the Ring Mountain region could now support more than just the magical plant, cedar.

Hill was already preparing to plant various fruits, gathering opinions from all the bears. However, given the complexities of the elements in the soil currently, only specific fruit trees could be grown.

Ihab was not too happy. His favorite watermelon was not among those fruits.

He was pestering Hill, arguing that watermelons grew on the ground and not underground.

In no time, Hill was already retreating step by step. Haiweirsen shook his head helplessly. This child was soft-hearted toward his family and would surely think of a way to make it happen for Ihab.

What did the location of the watermelons have to do with whether Hill had the magical plant seeds? Without watermelon magical plant seeds, they couldn’t be grown in this place, which was unsuitable for regular plants.

Haiweirsen knew Hill could manage it, though it would be a hassle, requiring him to continuously cultivate the seeds in his small space to possibly obtain magical watermelon seeds.

He glanced into the distance and called out to Hill, who had already promised to grow watermelons for Ihab, ”Hill, could you please bring in our guests at the back?”

Hill looked surprised: all the gods above the starry sky had already arrived! Did the God of Time and Space need to step in personally? Did William really need to come over, too?

He thought it over, took out his crystal flower demi-god artifact, and transformed it into an elegant and scholarly mage robe. Perhaps the arriving guests were representatives of mages and sorcerers, thus Haiweirsen wanted him to handle the reception.

Hill stood in front of the fountain, watching the guests who appeared in his line of sight.

William had indeed come.

By his side were Legendary Mage Draculus, accompanied by several familiar faces, former vice presidents, and the most powerful of the Legendary Laws.

Also, there was the Silvermoon Sorcerer, Tower Master Valencia, with several legendary sorcerers trailing behind William.

Hill couldn’t help but smile slightly, watching the white cat sitting atop the head of a black panther, who were slightly distanced from the humans.

”Alice!” Hill called warmly to his eldest daughter.

”Meow~ Hill!” Alice quickly floated into the air, rushing straight into Hill’s embrace.

Her large, wet eyes were filled with longing, ”I’ve missed you so much~ not even a hint of news!”

Hill gently stroked Alice’s fur, smiling tenderly, ”I missed Alice too. I was planning to visit you after matters here were settled.”

”Welcome, everyone, to the domain of the World Tree. Please follow me.” Seeing that William and the legendaries behind him were approaching, Hill hurriedly stepped forward to greet them.

”Hill.” William asked, frowning at Hill, who nodded to acknowledge him, ”What’s going on? Why did the World Tree summon the gods and still need me to come along? Is there something the God of Time and Space can’t decide for me?”

Hill shook his head, ”I know nothing. The clan leader merely asked me to come out and greet the guests. His Majesty William, please follow me!”

William raised his eyebrows, amusingly noting how Hill completely ignored the questions from others, promptly turning around to lead the way ahead.

Whether mage or sorcerer, they had no choice but to comply. Both sides had offended Hill in the past.

William looked at Valencia’s stiff expression and shook his head helplessly.

Her choice back then wasn’t really wrong. After all, that Legendary Water System Sorcerer belonged to the Sorcerer Tower, while Hill could only be considered a Saral. There was no way he would leave Saral to work for the Sorcerer Tower.

If her own people made a mistake, and it wasn’t anything too severe, most leaders would indeed look the other way.

William had pondered before that if a Saral Legendary Mage clashed with an outsider, he would also probably turn a blind eye unless they did something truly heinous.

If they offended someone by accident, he would compensate for it later.

The Sorcerer Tower likely thought the same way and probably had already planned how they would compensate Hill.

Come to think of it, before the Dwarf War, Valencia had been confident that Hill would reconcile with the Sorcerer Tower, though it’s uncertain what enticing offer they had prepared.

It’s a pity that sorcerers were somewhat restrained, always waiting for the perfect moment. Who knows if they can still deliver it now?

What could surpass the favor of the World Tree? Was there anything this world didn’t know?

The World Tree had supported this world for hundreds of thousands of years, certainly more competent than the gods.

Hill walked quickly and at a height that made it impossible for Valencia to catch up and salvage the situation now.

William followed Hill up the steps, musing inwardly about the need to avoid procrastination in his role as king.

You could make mistakes, but when rectification was still possible, it should be immediate, sacrificing pride for practicality.

Noah’s king, while somewhat shameless, benefitted greatly from quick concessions.

William thought he couldn’t be as extreme but felt a slight reduction in vanity wouldn’t hurt.

Hill, clutching Alice, led William’s group into the hall.

The sudden sensation of stepping into the starry sky elicited gasps of awe from the sorcerers trailing behind.

Hill paid no attention to the sorcerers who had never seen the starry sky. Alice in his arms was also startled.

”Don’t worry,” Hill said softly, ”this is what the starry sky looks like. If Alice one day leaves this world, this is what she will see.”

Yet Alice’s focus shifted entirely away from the starry sky.

Her long fur puffed up, and she emitted a low growl, staring intently at Agleya seated in the hall.

”Alice? Why are you here?” Agleya’s voice turned sharp, ”Why are you clinging to Dad? Don’t you have feet?”

”Agleya!” Alice extended her left paw, one by one revealing her sharp claws, ”Why didn’t you bring me along? I helped you to enter the wilderness!

I thought we had an agreement! How dare you sneak off!”

”I only promised to inform you about Dad, never said I’d take you along! Why would I waste divine power dragging you? Do you think you’re a little kitten? You! Are! So! Heavy!”

Agleya sprang to her feet, a cold smile playing on her lips, summoning her trident.

”Alice! Agleya!” Hill, who had been frozen for a while, finally reacted, calling off the impending battle.

Just after Agleya mentioned she didn’t have enough divine power to bring Alice over, she made it clear she had more than enough to fight Alice.

The gods in the hall couldn’t help but smile.

Realizing Hill was genuinely displeased, Alice and Agleya both simmered down.

One obediently returned to her seat, while the other leaped back to the black panther’s head.

Hill had no intention of resolving family matters here, signaling them to behave with his eyes, then moved towards Haiweirsen.

Haiweirsen pointed behind him, indicating Aurelio was standing formally to his right rear, leaving the left side for Hill.

Hill quietly walked over and took his place.

According to the world’s traditions, the two young direct descendants standing behind the clan leader were: the future successor on the right, and the second in line on the left.

If anything happened to Aurelio, Hill would step in to fill the clan leader’s position.

However, given the Earth Bear’s lifespan, Aurelio would likely be Crown Prince for life, and Hill would be just a placeholder.

After William and the legendaries took their seats at the rear of the hall, a crystal ball floated in the center of the hall, and the door shut automatically.

”Welcome to the domain of the Goddess of the Earth,” the voice of the World Tree was brisk and crisp, and Hill found it hard to reconcile this voice with the proud little princess that once surrounded him.

That had been a haughty little princess; now, this was a queen.

Hill’s thoughts were quickly drawn back as the World Tree continued speaking.

”Although the Goddess of the Earth is still asleep, her subconsciousness can already communicate with me.” The World Tree spoke directly, ”She is pleased her efforts weren’t in vain and understands all that transpired over the past few hundred thousand years.

As the future Controller of this world, she does not intend to govern it with her own will.

The Goddess of the Earth believes she cannot control her biases.

If she were to dictate everything in the world, she fears she would harm the deities and races who paid a tremendous price to save it.

So she plans to permanently separate herself from the World Will, letting the rational, emotionless Divine Soul manage the world’s operation.

Although doing so will prevent her from ever entering the starry sky again, the Goddess of the Earth never aspired to live apart from this land.”

”The impact on her can’t be just this, right?” The Goddess of the Silvermoon interjected with a frown, ”Why is the Goddess of the Earth still thinking so deeply? She sacrificed so greatly for this world and deserves to become its Master!

Her Divine Soul underwent tremendous effort to be completed! By severing this connection, is she planning to sleep for another few hundred thousand years?”

”Not at all.” The World Tree paused briefly, then continued, ”Our world has overcome this crisis and is ready to advance. If she separates from the World Will before the world advances, her Divine Soul can be fully restored during this promotion.”

The Goddess of the Silvermoon sat back down, satisfied that the Goddess of the Earth would be fine and intrigued by the news of the world’s advancement.
