Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 511: Chapter 310: Hill Starts Working

Agleya liked being called by her name by Adrian and Fran. She had been by Hill’s side for a long time and knew that the only people who truly mattered to Hill were these two.

This Little Sea God, when it came to certain things, had her own stubbornness and whims. After all, she belonged to the Chaos System and did not need to reason with anyone.

She was always a bit cautious regarding Hill’s affairs.

Hill felt that Agleya’s own parents had given up a lot for her. The Little Sea God should not neglect the Lake Goddess and the White Wolf God, who were good to Agleya while she was still in the Spiral Pearls, but always wanted to keep their distance and never considered being Agleya’s dad.

Including the Silvermoon Wolf God, Hill always said that if he hadn’t ascended to the Starry Sky, he might have taken care of his niece himself.

But Agleya was very reluctant.

It wasn’t that she didn’t respect her parents, and she was gentle towards the Silvermoon Wolf God, but Hill was always the most important to her.

She had developed her consciousness when her own parents abandoned her, and the pain of abandonment lingered around her.

Agleya also knew clearly that the Silvermoon Wolf God had no affection for her. He did not like the lake, so he naturally didn’t like the children of the lake either.

Without Hill, even with the favor of her parents, Agleya felt it would be difficult for her to emerge, and even if she did, she wouldn’t be in her current state, but likely would become more radical and irritable.

Agleya knew that what she lacked the most was love, or rather, favoritism.

But Hill’s gentleness had calmed her down and brought her back to reason. Even when Hill wasn’t around, she knew she was loved.

Adrian didn’t think so much; he just felt that if he wanted to show his respect but went against Agleya’s wishes, it was completely unnecessary; he wasn’t foolish enough to really treat Agleya like a junior.

Agleya’s life was back on track. Adrian helped her establish the Temple in Central City, and all she needed to do was to light the statues in these two Temples.

Agleya, for now, only received prayers from these three Temples, but she might not always respond.

As for the Main Temple, Agleya thought she might wait until the world had recovered.

Not only because she was waiting for Hill to come out of the wilderness but also because once the world recovered, the great vortex at the sea bottom would definitely change.

Agleya certainly wouldn’t want her newly built Main Temple suddenly relocated to the coast.

The Little Sea God was living happily, after all the silly cat had no news now, so she could only stare blankly at the Starry Sky.

Alice was truly very angry, but this time it was different; she couldn’t even touch the person she wanted to retaliate against.

The mastermind hid in the Divine Kingdom and never came out, and the Elf Princess who made the move, according to rumors, was thrown directly into a space rift by William.

Where Hill was, she only found out like the others, through the dialogue of the deities in the Starry Sky.

Alice felt that the reason for everything was her own weakness.

Hill had moved too fast, and she, being only legendary herself, had no ability to catch up.

Merkel watched as Alice sat on the branch, indifferent, and quietly shifted his position to lay down.

As long as Alice was willing to stay here and not rush into the wilderness, he wasn’t worried.

He glanced at the sneaky foxes below the mountain, lightened his steps, and tiptoed down. His Beast Nation had just been established, and there were many matters to handle, so he really couldn’t ask to accompany Alice into the wilderness.

The Magical Beasts were all unwilling to be second to others, and already many Demigod Beasts had started establishing their territories in the former Dwarves’ land.

Although they didn’t dare to build a nation like Merkel did, they also had no intention of obeying his will.

Watching the fox responsible for gathering intelligence, Merkel thought coldly that he had to start a war with another power before Alice realized she could run away on her own.

By the time Adrian heard the news from the Beast Nation, Merkel had already clashed with one of his neighbors.

The biggest mistake of his opponent was probably choosing the most unsuitable time to provoke Merkel.

Alice’s attention was quickly drawn to the injured Merkel; she strived to pick up her duties as the Consort Queen, and began leading the Magical Beasts with healing abilities to treat and detoxify the beasts that had gone to battle.

After issuing some tasks to the Undead Tribe, Adrian sighed; he wasn’t much interested in the wars between the Magical Beasts, but Hill certainly would want to know about Alice’s matters.

Since Hill couldn’t come out for a while, he decided to do some things for Hill first.

When the outcome of the battle was out, Spencer appeared before him: William had directly taken a mission report, hoping that Adrian would continue to pay attention to the battle situation on that side.

Adrian nodded in surprise and agreed, it seemed that though Merkel had promised not to actively attack the Human Kingdom, William didn’t completely trust him!

The current situation in the Dwarf Kingdom was that Merkel reigned in the mountains while the Wolf Tribe had the advantage on the plains.

These two powers had tacitly divided the territory, each striving to expand their influence in their own areas.

Adrian knew that William had always been concerned about the wolf pack, but he didn’t expect that even Merkel on this side wasn’t planning to let go.

However, if Adrian hadn’t been so ostentatious and directly sent the Undead Tribe to watch, William probably would have chosen a more covert method to explore the matter.

Although he agreed right away, Adrian still thought about the words of the Undead Tribe: those who play politics have dirty hearts, and those who succeed to the top are like White Lotuses blooming from the mud—they look clean, but their roots are still black.

Adrian oddly thought that perhaps William was quite happy when Hill had simply stomped through the portal initially. If he had stayed in Saral, William would have dealt with Merkel more secretly.

After all, that leopard was mostly for Alice, but it was indeed very friendly towards Hill as well, otherwise it definitely wouldn’t have made such a vow.

No matter what happened outside, Hill, numb from daily training, had forgotten the passage of time.

It wasn’t until he realized that the kitchen was out of the purer Magical Beast Meat that Hill suddenly realized a year had passed.

Hill quietly stayed in the camp, not knowing how unpalatable the food Grace and the others always spoke of really was, a bit worried that the little bears wouldn’t want to eat it.

The first to protest, of course, was Oriana, who came to Hill’s house with a piece of meat pie in her mouth: ”Why would you feed us meat this disgusting? Is this meat rotten for ten thousand years?”

Hill answered without changing his expression: ”This is your mother’s love. Don’t you remember when she went hunting personally for you? Oriana, you should know I can’t possibly arrange your meals.

Don’t take it out on me. I don’t eat High-level Magical Beast Meat. I’ve been a vegetarian for a long time!”

Oriana angrily slapped the ground with one claw: ”I don’t want to eat something this disgusting! I’d rather be a vegetarian!”

”Impossible,” Hill said coldly, glancing at the other two hiding and listening outside the door, ”Fruits won’t fill you up. The nutrients won’t keep up with your growth needs. If you want to grow, you need to eat meat.”

”I won’t! I’d rather stay small! Who would eat something even a pig wouldn’t touch!” Oriana threw down the meat pie and angrily went home.

Hill struggled to keep a stern face, looking indifferently at Oriana’s angry little figure.

Nils and Bucky, hiding in the corner, seeing Hill’s indifferent expression, could only leave disappointedly.

They all knew well that Hill, who was usually easy to talk to, meant it was something they had to do when he was utterly intransigent.

It was their own parents’ requirement; Hill would never defy it.

Hill took out his Seed Pouch. In this place of chaotic elements, he could only consider edible underground plants.

The elements there were chaotic too, but since they were already solidified into chunks, Hill could feel what elements each piece of earth mixed, thus allowing targeted planting.

Besides, although there might be changes in a year, it was still possible to grow some annual crops.

Especially high-starch potatoes and various tasty radishes, Hill could find places in the camp according to their attributes to plant some.

He had wanted to plant them a long time ago, but knowing the bears’ meals would be drastically reduced from delicious to just filling, Hill knew it was better to wait.

At least it could comfort the three little bears that if they weren’t satisfied, they could dig up something from underground themselves to relieve their cravings.

Unless they were unbearably tempted, these little bears really couldn’t dig, because even Hill initially had difficulty digging up that soil.

If Hill didn’t help them dig, then even dessert outside of meals wouldn’t be a problem, since the three little bears also put in labor.

Hill decisively went out to farm. Anyway, if it wasn’t right, a big bear would come out to stop him.

Oriana fasted for two days.

Even though she saw Hill planting, knowing this brother had considered giving them some compensation, Oriana still didn’t want to face the situation.

On the other hand, Nils hesitated for a long time but soon faced reality. For him, it was unbearable not to eat at all, at least there were fruit desserts to sweeten the mouth.

Bucky had a very big appetite and never hesitated; hunger was unbearable pain for him.

They both wanted to persuade Oriana to accept the situation, but they were a bit angry that she said the meat pies were something even pigs wouldn’t eat.

Didn’t the little bear realize they would eat it?

So they just hid outside Oriana’s house, watching her condition.

Hill was a bit worried, yet even though he went to the Cedar Forest to discuss this matter, Grace didn’t come back.

Hill’s worries finally ended at breakfast on the third day, when Oriana seemed to want to compensate for the food loss of the previous two days and ate twice the usual amount.

She acted as if she had completely forgotten her words and ate regularly for the next few days, even more than usual.

Hill smiled helplessly and ventured into the Cedar Forest, scattering the seeds of the Large Fruit Banyan.

It was time to consider the ecosystem of the Cedar Forest.
