Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 543: Chapter 342: Is There Really a Problem with the Radiant Knights Order’s Horses?

Some of the quicker-witted undead had already understood the implication in Hill’s words.

As humans, even if they thought this was a false game, they all frowned in dissatisfaction.

”Compared to demons, this kind of testing ground for Gerns is meaningless, isn’t it? So, even if we appeared, the ones reacting the most would be demons. The devils over there always remain strangely quiet.” ’Sui Chen’ suddenly spoke up, ”But William still wants the results of this testing ground, doesn’t he?”

”The advancement of the undead requires the divine artifact of the God of Time and Space to become even stronger. Only when the limit of the artifact is raised can you have a chance to become legendary-level.

His Majesty the King seems to be very interested in that kind of divine artifact that controls mages.

It seems somewhat similar to the artifact that summons the undead.” Hill said straightforwardly.

After all, he had long known that before the undead entered here, there was a notice of an impending breakthrough in the level cap.

This fact didn’t need to be hidden; all the undead sitting here should be aware of it.

”It looks like only by conquering the Magic Kingdom can we possibly advance to legendary.” Snow Cloud Peak swiped his tablet, ”You knights, remember to build good relationships with the Radiant Knights Order.

Especially the ones who come out riding magic beast horses. Even if it’s just to introduce a mighty and beautiful mate for your magical beast friends, it would be beneficial!

Communicate more!”

Hill slowly widened his eyes as he remembered.

After discovering that the knights of the Radiant Knights Order had no major issues, he had considered whether that sense of threat might come from those horses.

If it were someone else, they probably wouldn’t think someone would disguise themselves as a horse; they would only guess that the horse could be an intelligent magical beast sent as a spy.

But in Hill’s world, his intuitive reaction was that there was no difference between humans and horses, just one spell away.

It might even be a permanent transformation spell that only the caster could lift.

For magical beasts like horses, becoming a spy would be very difficult; their backs could never let someone they disliked sit on them.

Even if initially trained well, a magical beast horse would ultimately follow its knight through thick and thin, as that was their nature.

Not even a nightmare could change that nature.

But if it were a puppet, the Radiant Knights Order would definitely notice; it was too easy to discover.

No knight would neglect communication with their horse; it was more important than a wife. Especially in the fantasy world, where horses could accompany them for life. In a knight’s heart, a wife might leave, but the horse would stay with them forever.

Hill had seen knights train when he was young. They really did everything together, even noble-born knights.

Only humans, transformed into horses, would eternally despise their knights. They would never betray their master as long as they wanted to return to their human form.

Hill didn’t think devils would personally transform into horses for these knights; it would waste too much of their time, though it’s not beyond their capability.

But killing high-level demons was more meaningful for them.

Hill thought for a moment and decisively said, ”Pay attention to the horses of the Radiant Knights Order. They make me somewhat uncomfortable; although it’s faint, it’s definitely an evil feeling.”

”Druids transformed into horses?” The reaction of this undead made Hill look over involuntarily.

Druids were indeed not exclusively elves, but in such a profession, they would become very insane upon slipping into evil factions, which would be the Abyss faction, completely devoid of sanity.

In their hearts, only with the extinction of all intelligent beings can the forest be entirely safe.

Apart from these crazy druids, the most fearsome are the chaotic neutral druids. They would kill any intruder to protect the forest. As long as humans don’t step into their territory, nothing would happen.

However, druids could never be spies, especially as horses ridden by humans.

But why was this guy’s first reaction to think of druids transformed into horses? Shouldn’t it be intelligent magical beasts?

Had the story of the Earth Bear spread everywhere?

Who said this?!

”Don’t magical beasts have their own intelligence? What are you wildly guessing?” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ angrily turned back and made a cutting motion across his own throat in front of the guy who had spoken too much.

”How much do you know about the Earth Bear?” Hill put down the paper in his hand and asked coldly.

Snow Cloud Peak scratched his head awkwardly and said, ”Wasn’t that demigod druid named Virginia?

When she took the Dark Moon Elves to that forest, she talked about it.

Back then, the undead secretly sent some birds to follow her, wanting to know what she was up to.

Who knew she would just stand there and talk about it directly? Poor her mother, deceived by the elves into thinking that druid transformation was easy. Who knew she would turn into a bear and could never change back? Eventually, she believed herself to be a genuine bear and had Virginia with an Earth Bear.

When she finally came to her senses, unable to accept the reality, she had no choice but to abandon her mate and child, resulting in Virginia feeling very lonely. As a Moon Elf, she always felt out of place with her Earth Bear father, falling into an elf’s romantic trap.

When she realized something was wrong and sought help from her mother, her mother had already entered the Divine Kingdom of the Goddess of the Hunt due to her pure Moon Elf bloodline.

Unexpectedly, one day she had to rely on the very bloodline she despised most to find a place she could call home.”

Snow Cloud Peak quietly finished speaking, observing Hill’s expression.

They all knew that Hill was the last one in this line to truly awaken the Earth Bear bloodline.

”Stupid woman! How did the Earth Bear ever wrong her? Did she think this was an attack on elves? Where was her brain?” Hill suppressed his anger; he couldn’t let the undead think he knew who that Earth Bear was.

Haiweirsen had advised Hill that when he was outside, he should either use a false name or not give his name at all.

The false name was for the God of Nobility to hear, long vanished in the wind. As for a bear running in the wilderness, besides food, there were only enemies; he had no purpose in giving his name.

Although he gave Virginia a name, he never told this daughter his name. He thought calling him ’Dad’ was enough. Who would tell their daughter their name?

After that incident, he was even less willing to mention it.

And on the elven side, they should know only the false name. They might have guessed the identity, but they wouldn’t reveal it. Especially after the awakening of the Goddess of the Earth, the elves would hope this matter never spread.

Everyone thought it best to let that unfortunate Earth Bear disappear for good; it was beneficial to no one.

Moreover, with the passage of time, with the death of those involved and the silence of others, people stopped talking about it. Even Virginia’s former husband never used this against her.

Elves never made a fuss about matters of the heart and never discriminated against any race’s love. This was their greatest virtue.

Of course, this didn’t prevent them from feeling that other bloodlines were inferior.

But aside from their own, they treated all bloodlines equally.

Virginia was very emotional when she talked about it, but she didn’t understand what should be said and what shouldn’t.

Half-elves and humans, upon knowing this interesting story, started spreading it worldwide.

The story of the Earth Bear and the druid could lead these people to concoct all sorts of tales.

Like the undead, they might not care much about that Moon Elf who married a bear but would certainly joke about it.

Virginia’s dream of becoming the Dark Moon Elf Queen was likely shattered.

While the Dark Moon Elves didn’t mind these things, they wouldn’t let a recognized fool become their queen.

But if her foolishness hurt Haiweirsen, Hill would never let her off!

Luckily, Haiweirsen had already entered the Divine Kingdom of the Goddess of the Earth to work, and now Aurelio was responsible for external affairs among the Earth Bears.

”If anything related to this happens, let me know.” Hill tried to control it but couldn’t help showing a bit of emotion.

However, as a member of the Earth Bear family, it was natural for him to be angry; anyone with a bit of sense knew how much gossip the Earth Bear would face.

”Of course, no problem.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ was silent for a moment but still asked, ”Should the undead keep their mouths shut? It’s troublesome but doable. As allies, we can lend a hand.”

”No, thanks.” Hill shook his head quietly, ”This matter can’t be silenced. The impact on the Earth Bear isn’t that significant. It’s just that I don’t like it. It’s always uncomfortable to be ridiculed for such an old matter.

After all, it’s embarrassing that such a fool was an ancestor, even if the bloodline is quite distant now.”

Hill suddenly thought it through; compared to Virginia’s child, Haiweirsen probably preferred to recognize him, a child with an Otherworld soul.

He held the paper in his hand and firmly said, ”Devils are very good at disguise, and they fully immerse themselves in their roles. Even if they don’t love you, they can pretend to love you the most in the world without any flaw.

Many worlds were destroyed by demons, but even more deities fell to devils! Not to mention worlds. Devils just have no interest in dragging worlds into Hell, but any world ravaged by devils is hard to repair.

Therefore, devils favor human-populated worlds, and they will be curious about your world.

Be careful of any strangers that might appear around you, including unfamiliar magical beasts.

Devils never care about their appearance.”

”If we go to play with the Radiant Knights Order’s horses, would any horse be particularly affectionate to us?” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ said thoughtfully, ”I’ll find a few gossipers to test it.”

The undead all focused on him, waiting for him to sign up.
