Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 522: Chapter 321 Hill’s Dad, You Are a Bit Alike

The towering cedar tree did not stop its expansion.

Hill quickly discovered that the World Tree Artifact had connected all the cedar roots north of the ring mountain together, with the original cedar tree fragment now becoming the intelligent core of this area.

The northern land had been entirely integrated under its control.

Not only that, in the vast plot of land between the ring mountain and the recently planted area, one could also see cedars being constantly relocated.

The previously dense cedar forest around the ring mountain had become very sparse.

Hill’s keen eyesight allowed him to see far into the distance and notice that the saplings they had just planted were also moving towards the central area.

For tens of thousands of years, the work of the Earth Bears was truly satisfying the World Tree Artifact.

Although the earth no longer shook violently, slight tremors never ceased.

The Earth Bears no longer paid attention to external matters, quickly returning to the valley to practice their control over the Law of the Earth.

For the past few millennia, they had mainly used their power more for support than for mastering the Law of the Earth.

As for Agleya, wandering around the camp behind Hill, the Earth Bears ignored her presence.

Hill’s child, Hill managed.

No bear had the time to help look after this fortunate kid.

However, as time passed, many Earth Bears started to look at Hill differently, charmed by Agleya’s cuteness.

Hill, with such an adorable child even before becoming a demigod, received countless bear paw slaps.

Though they knew the Sea God was raised by Hill, they hadn’t seen them interact and thus felt no envy before.

Rowdy little bears were enough to make some younger bears lose interest in having offspring at all.

They still wanted to play, so why work themselves to death raising young ones?

Why not just take a nap instead?

But after seeing Hill’s adorable Sea God daughter, sweetly demanding attention while dressed cutely and calling him dad every day, no male bear could resist patting Hill’s shoulders and laughing in congratulations, even some female bears joined in unreservedly.

Hill was in agony, finally understanding the significant difference between a demigod and an actual demigod.

Agleya did not understand initially, but when Hill’s face began to twitch with suppressed laughter, she caught on.

However, Agleya could feel that Hill was truly happy. Despite his soft moans of pain, his face wore a constant smile, seemingly provoking those jealous peers even further.

She floated to one side, unsure of what to do.

Haiweirsen, passing by, took the bewildered little Sea God away, as staying a bit longer would encourage the envious bunch to congratulate Hill in shifts.

Haiweirsen did have some tasks for Agleya, which he could handle himself, but having an idle Water Deity nearby should not go to waste.

Previously, the valley relied on various pearls to condense water. Though sufficient, the Earth Bears still used it sparingly.

Though bears are not aquatic creatures, they still enjoyed swimming and occasionally wanted to savor some fish from the water.

He planned to channel some underground water, for now, he could delve directly into the deep earth.

Even though the underground was full of cedar roots, the World Tree would not reject Haiweirsen’s entry.

He happily let Agleya ride on his back and dashed straight into the ground with her.

Agleya shrieked with joy; though she was just a phantom, she felt real contact.

Haiweirsen had started transforming into a divine body, thus capable of such tactile sensations, which were responses between divine powers.

Agleya laughed gleefully.

In the not-so-distant future, even among the starry sky, she would have family for company!

Oddly, although Fran and Hill were very close, Agleya preferred Haiweirsen.

The Earth Bears felt more like family than Fran.

Perhaps it was because Hill’s dad’s aura felt similar to Haiweirsen’s? Agleya pondered secretly with a smile, carried closely by the elder made her very happy.

Hill, rubbing his shoulder, slowly walked towards the circular hall under the World Tree.

This thoughtful artifact had surrounded the Earth Bears’ new main house with its embrace.

The columns for the corridors Hill had painstakingly constructed had been unceremoniously replaced with individual cedar trees.

Hill had closely examined; those cedars were cleverly disguised branches of the artifact.

The top of the corridor was covered with cedar leaves, making the circular hall appear as if it were directly growing from the World Tree.

Even the base steps had turned into wooden structures with a metallic sheen.

Hill silently walked into the front hall, realizing the World Tree’s biggest dissatisfaction with the structure was its metal composition.

Hill did not mind his materials being converted into wood, considering the circular hall could now even be considered an artifact. The World Tree had assimilated this structure into its divine power.

With the immense divine power feedback received from the completed world, Hill was thoroughly pleased with the World Tree’s indulgent release of power.

As he entered his room, a single thought crossed his mind: when he left, he would take his bed with him.

Even the bodies of a few golems had been improved.

Especially the ones Hill made himself; despite closely imitating human skeletal structures, his craftsmanship still fell short compared to his maternal grandfather. Though Hill had superior materials, sometimes this excess caused energy overload.

No matter how meticulously Hill studied, he could not rival Fran’s specialized life golem.

Hill realized he lacked flexibility in elemental usage, needing more extensive research.

Fran’s dedication to alchemy was difficult for Hill to surpass.

However, the golems in his room now appeared much more nimble.

Hill could not resist his curiosity and took a closer look.

He found that the World Tree had merely made those golem connections more flexible, giving their entire bodies a semblance of vitality.

It was akin to enveloping robots in real flesh and skin, smoothing out their mechanical nature considerably.

Hill pondered around the golems for a long time, realizing he had a unique ability of his own!

He shouldn’t have been stuck on element harmony!

How many people could master multiple elements like Fran?

Hill could try using the World Tree’s method!

After all, there are many ways to achieve success; he should perfect his talents first!

Hill had not closed his door, so he immediately stepped out at the sound of commotion outside.

Aurelio and his father were arguing over digging a waterway.

Spotting Hill, Aurelio shouted, ”Hill! Tell me, isn’t it better for waterways to be wider? Not only for bathing, but we can also raise some fish to eat! The fish from the river are delicious!”

Aurelio’s father Ihab pressed down on his head strongly. ”No fish in these waters! This is a soaking place! No fish!”

Once silent, Ihab now couldn’t help but scold his foolish son, ”Outside is fine for raising fish, but not in here! We still live here! How many fish could we raise? No bear wants to swim with fish poop around. Don’t even think about eating fish while soaking. You’re just lazy!”

Hill couldn’t help but say, ”Didn’t I leave a blueprint for the waterway?”

He had indeed thoroughly planned for the world’s restoration, making plenty of prearrangements!

Both Earth Bears were stunned; Ihab suddenly remembered, ”Ah! Haiweirsen gave me a stone tablet to follow. I forgot about it, hehe...”

He stood up abruptly, slapping Aurelio’s head. ”It’s this guy pestering me with nonsense while I dig, made me forget.”

”Isn’t the outer waterway also needed? Let Aurelio dig there; he can make it wider,” Hill said sympathetically, glancing at Aurelio who lay sprawled on the ground. His strong father could send Haiweirsen flying with a slap, so this was no small hit.

Good thing it took just a thought for the Earth Bears to create a several-meter-deep waterway in the ground. Preparations were complete before Haiweirsen dashed out with Agleya.

Hill, watching the giggling Agleya, couldn’t help but laugh too. Her smile was as brilliant as the most dazzling sunshine, brightening Hill’s heart.

When Haiweirsen landed beside Hill with Agleya, a rainbow fountain spouted from the ground.

Hill moved to the front and started forming a seven-layered fountain pond there.

This was the purest water, directly summoned from the earth by the Chief God of Water, far superior to pearl-condensed pure water, containing robust life energy.

Agleya unhesitatingly gave her blessing, ensuring the fountain’s water remained forever pure.

Unless a power stronger than hers intervened, the water would never become dirty or poisoned or cursed.

Cheering erupted outside, and Agleya quietly told Hill, ”The outer water is from an underground river with fish, of no special use. But the fountain water, directly drawn from the deeper earth’s veins, is brimming with life energy; Hill Dad, you should drink from here.”

Hill gently smiled at her. ”I understand. Thank you, Agleya, for your hard work.”

Floating lightly, the Sea God whispered in Hill’s ear, ”I really like Haiweirsen, Hill Dad. You two are a lot alike.”
