Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 527: Chapter 326 Can the Undead Tribe Be Loaned Out?

Standing at the front of the hall, Hill could see that all the deities within his field of vision were listening without changing their expressions, as if the news of the world’s progression couldn’t make them budge.

Yet, Hill could feel the Law Lines suddenly start to pulsate, and the elements in the hall became notably more lively.

Not a single deity would disregard this matter, for it concerned their future.

The corners of Hill’s mouth twitched involuntarily as, aside from the Earth System, the least disturbance surprisingly came from the Water Law.

Agleya was still having an angry stare-down with Alice, completely unconcerned with whatever was happening.

Hill watched her quietly. Agleya stiffened all over and rapidly controlled her emotions, sitting upright with a solemn expression.

Hill then turned his gaze to the white cat that continued its provocation. Alice also quietly returned to her seat, gently resting her little head on her paws.

They finally settled down. Hill retracted his gaze; the world’s progression was an essential matter for them as well. They must listen carefully to what the World Tree had to say.

Especially for Alice, even though Merkel was listening attentively, one could not completely rely on the panther’s interpretation. Sometimes, in some matters, a miss was as good as a mile.

Agleya could stay in the Divine Realm of the World Tree to gather information at any time, but Alice couldn’t possibly stay. If she would be willing to do so, Hill would instead feel relieved.

Hill always felt that Alice relied too much on others.

The World Tree didn’t care what the seated deities thought, it simply spoke its words, ”The Goddess of the Earth asked me to summon you all here, and it’s also related to this matter.

The Goddess of the Earth hopes that you all will be prepared before the world progresses.

The world has already been perfected, and the Laws are being sorted. After the sorting is complete, the time for the world’s progression will come, and there isn’t much time left.

That Elven God King should have known about this a long time ago. Coron with just a glance can see the direction this world is heading, and couldn’t have left him uninformed.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have schemed against the King of Saral once more.

He has caused so much trouble because he wants to hold back the Gods of Time and Space when the world progresses. After all, the God of Time and Space is now considered a weaker divine power, but by the time of the world’s progression, it will at least have reached Intermediate Divine Power status.

If King William, who has contributed so much to this world, rises to the Divine Throne by taking advantage of the progression, the Gods of Time and Space might have two deities with Intermediate Divine Power.

As for the Elf Deity System, even a weaker status might be in peril. The only thing related to him in the world’s progression is that elves can become permanent residents of this world, and no other benefits are likely.

The God of Time and Space is quite a peaceful presence, but King William looks like the sort who would retaliate at any moment. Of course, he doesn’t want the Time and Space System to become that strong.”

Hill thought that the seated deities, including the Legendary ones behind the hall, all seemed to agree that William was definitely the type to seek revenge, and their faces were filled with understanding toward the Elven God King’s act of troubling William.

Including William himself, whose suddenly enlightened yet somewhat regretful expression proved that he thought he had let the Elven God King off too easily before.

The World Tree explained, ”For the deities of the outside world, divine power is classified into four levels: mighty, intermediate, weaker, and weak.

The Coron you’ve seen is a mighty divine power. Of course, even among the mighty, there are differences, and that one is at the absolute top.

But mighty is mighty. Even the weakest of the mighty divine powers could easily shatter our world.

I think you should understand by now that, as deities of a minor world, being merely weaker divine power before progression already means you are strong.

This progression is the best opportunity for everyone, whether deity or mortal.

This world is part of that Cosmic World Tree. Naturally, when it progresses, it will lean towards the properties of the World Tree. If a deity cannot ensure their Faction is at least neutral or above, it will be hard to gain enough benefits from this progression.”

Whether they were deities or Legendary figures, they couldn’t help but glance at the indifferent God of Nobility sitting on the side, the one deity who might have trouble.

After giving up most of her power, the Goddess of Love had stabilized within the Neutral Faction.

Only the God of Nobility, although remaining neutral, was also in a position where he could easily slip into evil.

Sitting at the back, William suddenly couldn’t help but laugh, ”Actually, the God of Nobility probably won’t cause any more trouble. His Church is working so hard, they’re even competing with the Undead Tribe for thief-hunting missions now.”

The Church of the God of Nobility is now practically trying to do as much good as possible, scouring the entire world to fight against Evil Factions, and getting more excited than the Undead Tribe when encountering thieves.

Many from the Undead Tribe are already angrily venting on forums, denouncing that brain-dead game designer who came up with an NPC competing with them for business.

William was cursed at for a long while because of this.

Fortunately, the Undead Tribe also felt that this was just an enhanced version of a time-limited kill quest. If they completed it, the reward would triple, but failure meant nothing at all.

Of course, without this matter, William would not have tripled their reward; he wasn’t flush with money to waste, but he needed to placate the infuriated Undead Tribe.

The Noble Church is also the only native force besides William that’s vigorously pushing the development of the territories outside the Abyssal Gate.

They generously issue missions to the Undead Tribe, and although weapons and equipment can’t rival those from William’s side, they bring out various treasures. Especially the luxury items that nobles like, which the Undead Tribe are also quite willing to accept.

Those splendid and noble things, the Undead Tribe was very willing to use them to decorate their little houses.

During this time, in the eyes of the Undead Tribe, the Noble Temple had already become a place for issuing tasks related to building a sanctuary.

Although William found it amusing, the Noble Church was truly fighting desperately for their deities, not knowing how many Cardinals had given out their years-cherished luxuries.

Everyone understood the affairs of the Noble Church, of course, most of the deities gave it some face and had no reaction, with only the Goddess of the Silvermoon mercilessly mocking them.

The Goddess of Love couldn’t help but glare at the Goddess of the Silvermoon, with the God of Nobility and Silvermoon having no conflict at all, why did she take such delight in their misfortune?

”This matter is not the most important reason the Goddess of the Earth has summoned everyone. If it weren’t for other matters, the Goddess wouldn’t be interested in troubling so many deities over such a trivial issue.” The World Tree interrupted the confrontation, ”What needs to be discussed now is the request from the Cosmic World Tree and Father of Elves, Coron.”

Hill was suddenly shocked and found that the deities, just like him, were staring intently at the crystal ball. Coron’s might made all the deities apprehensive, and the World Tree, not only capable of daunting such a powerful deity but also the creator of this world.

The request from these two together was bound to be intimidating.

”Every world, in the end, may tread the path to destruction. Whether that world is inhabited by the children of the Father of Elves or by the humans of the World Tree.” The voice from the crystal ball sounded very indifferent, ”The likeliest possibility, if not demons, then devils and evil gods. Of course, such evil forces are generally summoned by the creatures of those worlds themselves.

Quite different from our world, which is simply unfortunate.

Thus, those worlds are utterly incapable of expelling these evil forces on their own.

All they can do is watch themselves slip further into the Abyss, walking towards annihilation.

The Father of Elves and the World Tree thought of many ways, all in vain, at best only delaying the world’s destruction or outright sealing the world completely.

However, within our world, They saw a glimmer of hope for saving those other worlds.

The existence of the Undead Tribe astonished even the two mighty divine powers.”

The deities all looked in surprise at the God of Time and Space and the dumbfounded William. Were these two planning to compete with the Gods of Time and Space for a clan?

The God of Time and Space looked around at his colleagues whose attention had drifted off and asked with an impassive face, ”Let’s not talk about the issue of how to leave this world for now.

You also participated in the creation of the Undead Tribe, you should remember how much of the world’s elements and resources consumed by the bodies of the Undead.

Not to mention the divine power expended by me, the Sun God, and the Goddess of the Silvermoon!

We were willing to expend so much divine power because we believed the Undead Tribe would eventually leave this world.

As their bodies dissipated, naturally what belonged to the world would return to the world, and what was ours would return to us.

But if they leave with those bodies, I don’t believe they will ever come back.”

The God of Time and Space paused, his worried gaze turning towards the Sun God, some things, after all, had been told to him by this god. The appearance of the Undead was William’s idea, but the one who most agreed was the Sun God.

The Sun God leaned back in his seat, his face grave as he continued, ”Even if our divine power could be compensated, what about the world?

As per norms, the Undead Tribe is still in this world, even if they have consumed countless resources, those still belong to this world.

Someday, those resources will return to the world cycle.

But if taken to other worlds, they would be completely lost.

We three are the creators of the Undead Tribe; if our creation causes significant losses to this world, we will also suffer backlash.

Do you want to drag three Main Gods together into evil?

We can’t agree to such a thing. How could the Goddess of the Earth ever agree to such a request?

Is She truly conscious?”

The World Tree remained unmoved and said, ”I am not privileged enough to converse with those two.

Just like you are not yet capable of entering the dreams of the Goddess of the Earth.”

Hill couldn’t help but glance at the Sun God and the Goddess of the Silvermoon. These two hadn’t come early on purpose; they had intended to communicate directly with the Goddess of the Earth!

It seems they didn’t plan to heed the summoning of the World Tree at all and only followed along after realizing that they truly couldn’t contact the Goddess of the Earth.

The Goddess of the Silvermoon chuckled coldly, ”The Goddess of the Earth didn’t tell you to beat around the bush!

As long as these elemental bodies don’t leave the world, we don’t care about the whereabouts of the Undead Tribe.

The coordinates of the world of the Undead Tribe are right there, anyone can go and invite others. If William can do it, certainly more powerful deities can do it with even greater ease.”

Indeed, the Silvermoon was the most ruthless. She never even considered letting the Undead take their bodies with them.
