Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 544: Chapter 343: Stable Show in the Midst of Battle Flames

”First of all, it has to be horse riders,” Snow Cloud Peak said seriously. ”It’s said that horses have a keen sense of smell, and they can definitely sniff out the scent of a horse on you.”

The members of the Black Rose and the Battle Field leaned back in their chairs, relaxing. One had everything but horses, and the other was the specialized Wild Ox Group.

Snow Cloud Peak also deftly ruled out his own magic cult family who belonged to the Giant Elephant Group.

The Black and White Path, Long Wind Arises, Ink, plus a few people from Night Hawk, instantly stiffened. Their families were the ones who loved galloping on horses and showing off with girls the most.

Especially the Black and White Path, the clan leader ’Mobi Chenxin’ loved to be the center of attention, frequently putting on shows like ’A White Horse Riding Westward,’ attracting countless young girls’ attention. Of course, he also attracted more hostility from the same sex, including male members of his alliance. If there was a chance to see him embarrassed, no one would miss it.

Most people’s eyes gradually focused on Mobi’s face.

Hill’s eyes followed suit, as he certainly knew which family had many horses.

’Perfect Baldy’ nestled in a small sofa, giggling nonstop.

While he personally had only a fierce tiger, which was quite eye-catching when he went out solo, the Black Rose Family was usually laughed at except during their grand bunny parades.

It wasn’t petty issues like others riding horses while they rode pigs, but that the Flat-headed Brothers often got into brawls with the wild boars.

Specifically, honey badgers—they’re just too tempting, and the wild boars can’t resist butting them.

A Flat-headed Brother, once enraged, wouldn’t care if you were an ally or not; they might even beat up their own magic beast friends, let alone pigs from the same faction.

Their daily mishaps were so numerous that even the Undead Tribe’s forum had a Black Rose Magic Beast Mishap Collection that Old Cat liked to watch whenever he was bored.

Those from the Couch Potato Faction living in Hill Town could watch the collection all day long.

So, to see someone else becoming a laughingstock for a day, ’Perfect Baldy’ was quite ecstatic.

”Gallant White Horse Prince Mobi, charge bravely!” the Young Master shouted joyously.

’Mobi Chenxin’ looked around. Several horse-centric families all bowed their heads, refusing to make eye contact with him.

”I am a Magician!” Mobi said with a cold laugh. ”Do you think those horses would pay any attention to me? And to be honest, Baldy, the idlers from your family are more suitable, aren’t they?

A Knight without a horse would be interested in horses! He doesn’t even need to act; he would naturally make the troubled horses think all of the Undead Tribe are fools.”

”They won’t do,” ’Perfect Baldy’ said carelessly, ignoring Mobi’s attempt to drag his family into this mess. His family was notorious for being troublemakers, universally recognized as a pair of silly mutts, ”They’re always bumming around with Elder Cunlü. If they’re not thrown into mud pits, they’re getting flying-kicked by Flat-headed Brother. They smell so strongly, no horse would come near them.”

’Snow Cloud Peak,’ holding a tablet, laughed for a while before finally settling the dispute: ”Those of you from families with horse herds, find a few Knights who will volunteer for this task from your management. If we’re short on people, I’ll make the calls, and don’t blame me then.”

Then he glanced at ’Perfect Baldy’: ”Although it’s a bit awkward to mention, Baldy, could you please move those drama queens from your family over to the Radiant Knights Order?”

’Perfect Baldy’ said seriously, ”I’ll have Liu Liu talk to Elder and Cunlü about it. Those two, together with Gu Weiwei, should suffice. Hard Wind will definitely follow, and I will instruct him to observe carefully.

But Snow Old Dog, don’t blame me. I’ll tell them it was you who asked for this. I won’t take the blame for you.”

’Snow Cloud Peak’s mouth twitched: ”No problem, at worst I’ll get hammered to death again.”

After they finished their discussion, Hill continued, keeping his head down: ”This world is a rare one where nobility outranks high-level professionals.

The Radiant Knights Order may not have good relations with the Four Great Kingdoms, but they would still kneel on one knee when they meet a King.

These are Legendary Knights.

So, you might meet some nobles even more insufferable than Teraxil in the future that will infuriate you.”

”Can we kill them?” Sui Chen asked directly.

”That depends on His Majesty the King,” Hill said helplessly. ”I don’t know how he will choose whether to cooperate with the local powers or not.”

”About William, he probably won’t be able to stand it,” said ’Snow Cloud Peak’ softly. ”He’s already a mature King. In his world, there’s no such thing as conceding.”

Hill looked up at the Undead Tribe’s Commander; that was an accurate judgment. William had never spared anyone related to Saral by blood, let alone the nobles of this world that disgusted him.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have asked Hill for a list of nobles.

So Hill merely mentioned a few things about the nobles in this world to the Undead Tribe; he didn’t think there’d be much interaction between them and the nobles, presuming that any encounters would likely lead to conflict.

”Anything else you want to ask?” Hill asked the Undead Tribe, who had already started discussing among themselves.

”Those nobles—are they worse in temperament than Saral’s, or in character?” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ asked bluntly.

Hill lifted his head: ”His Majesty the King didn’t tell you?”

”William just said that this world basically has no place for those of the Kind Alignment to survive.”

”His Majesty the King will probably issue a proclamation later,” Hill said indifferently, ”then I need not say more. However, I can give you a comparison. Remember the first commotion you caused in Obastian? That great noble whom you hung on a tree and burned alive might even be considered kind compared to the best nobles of this world.”

The Undead Tribe might have long forgotten, but they had a forum to check.

So, they quickly became serious as they finally realized just how cruel this world really was.

”Are there still commoners alive?” someone murmured.

Hill sighed, ”Different types. A higher degree of evil doesn’t necessarily mean more bloodshed.”

What remained was for the Undead Tribe to verify slowly, and this would be their task in the future.

The Undead Tribe discussed for a while and then asked Hill, ”Will the elves of this world go to war? Does it have anything to do with the Elven God King?”

”I really don’t know about that,” Hill laughed, ”At least not at first. Maybe in the end, if they see there’s hope of defeating the demons, they might show up.

Elves are different from humans. They have a way out, and their eternal homelands are not here, so they definitely won’t fight desperately for this world.

As for the Elven God King, with his high and mighty demeanor, it’s impossible for him to have friends around. He doesn’t need them anyway.”

Finally, the Undead Tribe had no more questions, and whatever small issues remained, they could handle themselves.

Then they stood up and began to inquire about what kinds of things this puppet shop collected. As each one passed by Baldy, they either tugged on his ponytail or patted his back vigorously.

It didn’t take long for Hill to understand why they were troubling Baldy.

Although Hill had said nothing, from the first glance they saw of the shop, everyone knew who sold the magic book to Hill.

They were all too familiar with each other, and everyone knew what Baldy wanted to do.

Hill smiled helplessly, watching as ’Snow Cloud Peak’ slowly moved behind his desk, pulled out a small stool from underneath, and hid there while he began to arrange affairs on his tablet.

Hill shook his head, ”I’m going back. You can use this desk!”

By the time Hill left, he realized that ’Snow Cloud Peak’ needed to stay hidden behind the desk; he seemed to not want others to see what he was up to.

The arrival of the Radiant Knights Order seemed to have drawn the attention of the demons.

At first, it was only an army of several hundred thousand demons, with not many legendary demons following. The Undead Tribe handled them quite easily.

However, the expenditure of great energy finally caught the Demon Commander’s attention. The demons were gathering together, the number of legendary demons had risen to several hundred, and even a demon of demigod level had appeared.

Although it hadn’t planned to directly attack, it was watching from a distance.

But the blizzard outside of the city wall fortress had become unstoppable, not to mention the ceaseless Holy Rain both inside and out.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ and the others no longer had time to reach Hill’s side.

It seemed that the lessons from the year Wenjian lost the city had made these families reluctant to adopt a full-fledged rotating schedule, and instead, each family was assigned a section of the city wall to defend.

So, ordinary family members could still rest while nearly all of their administrators ended up living on the city walls.

In accordance with William’s old tradition, the last row of the city wall was built with small houses. These were the safehouses where the Undead Tribe logged in and out. They were assigned houses, and the section of the city wall in front of these houses was then defended by that family.

Fortunately, the numbers of the Undead Tribe were truly sufficient.

The mountain ranges on both sides had been planted full of sunflowers. The demons detested the smell of these flowers but couldn’t burn them. These were mutants capable of growing on volcanic land, completely unafraid of the Demon’s Fire.

Thus, the war between the two sides concentrated in front of the city walls.

It didn’t take long for Hill to understand why ’Snow Cloud Peak’ had to hide and arrange things.

When he sent people to the stables, enemy families from before and even some from different countries had sent people there too.

They were almost as quick as he was.

The occasional Undead Tribe member who came back to rest, their excited discussions also informed Hill that ’Snow Cloud Peak’ was using the opportunity to weed out how many spies and which families’ administrators had been expelled.

Sometimes, Hill couldn’t help but feel a sense of admiration for those who played the game to such an extent.

Then thinking about his own past, he felt like he might have been playing a fake online game.

Fortunately, although the Undead Tribe engaged in infighting, they hadn’t planned to lose face in front of NPCs. They were competing to see who could find the problematic horse first, not to completely mess up the whole play.

The Radiant Knights Order and their magic beast horses thought that the Undead Tribe was competing for the favor of these magic beast horses.

They were quite pleased.

Probably because they felt that Gerns’ top-notch magic beast horses were also treasured in the Otherworld!
