Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 515: Chapter 314: Earth Bear Tribe Leader Haiweirsen

The other Earth Bears quietly circled around, leaving this small world to their clan leader.

Hill lifted his head, watching the Earth Bear approaching step by step.

This moment, which he had imagined countless times in his mind, finally appeared before him.

Bloodline truly was miraculous. Though he felt a bit nervous, his heart was filled with joy.

The Earth Bear lowered its head and looked into Hill’s eyes, a peculiar gleam flashing in them. The snowflakes falling on Hill’s face turned into droplets that dripped down. The clan leader blinked softly, ”Hill, I think you know who I am, but you might not know my name.”

Hill couldn’t help blinking as well, silently waiting.

”Haiweirsen.” The Earth Bear sighed lightly, ”I haven’t mentioned that name in a long time. Fortunately, many things are in the inherited memories; otherwise, I wouldn’t want to speak of the past.”

Even for a bear of such stature among the Earth Bears, Haiweirsen found it somewhat difficult to sit and look at Hill.

Even with his head bent as low as possible, he was still rather tall.

Not wanting to move farther away from Hill, Haiweirsen changed to a prone position, but that made lowering his head even more uncomfortable.

He glanced back and found that not a single Earth Bear remained or was watching the area. A smile appeared on his bear face before he instantly transformed into a human form.

Seeing his bloodline ancestor at such a close distance, Hill finally understood whom his eyes resembled.

Haiweirsen’s human form was tall and stern, but his round, bright eyes diminished much of his imposing presence.

That, however, made Hill relax significantly.

”Though it’s late, I still want to say, welcome, my Hill.” Haiweirsen smiled with narrowed eyes, revealing deep dimples on his face.

Hill was somewhat surprised; the smile completely erased Haiweirsen’s air of dignity.

He couldn’t help but smile along, his previously unsettled heart fully at ease.

”Aren’t you going to invite me in?” Haiweirsen, who was over two meters tall, bent slightly to look at Hill.

”My home is open to you anytime.” Hill moved aside at the door, leading Haiweirsen into his small house.

Haiweirsen glanced around and decisively sat on the soft sofa, ”To think an Alchemist would emerge among my descendants. That’s unbelievable.

Thank you for everything you’ve done for the tribe.

I’m genuinely happy you appeared in this world.

To be honest, I always thought this branch of my bloodline would only lead to extinction.

The Earth Bear bloodline and that of the Elves would only fiercely conflict, and within the Forest of the Elves, the inheritance of the Moon Elves is dwindling.

When I left Virginia, I assumed I could never have more descendants.

I never expected that so much would happen in just a few decades.

Hill, you have deep connections with the world, you must have been involved in many events, can you tell me in detail?

Although the earth has recovered so much, making me truly happy, I still want to know how we got to this day.

I had always thought my end would be perishing alongside those dwarves!”

Hill could feel the significance his ancestor placed on him. But this respect was quickly suppressed in his heart.

Haiweirsen’s primary concern was always the Goddess of the Earth.

Before giving a detailed account of the events of these years, a thought flashed through Hill’s mind: how did this Haiweirsen fall in love with that Moon Elf Bear?

From the appearance of the God of Time and Space to the rise of the Sea God Agleya, from the fall of the Goddess of the Spring to the return of the God of Nobility to the starry sky, from the demon cultivation in Central City to the total annihilation of the dwarves. Finally, how the elves and the Dark Moon Elves fell from power to their current miserable state.

Hill eloquently spoke for a whole day and night.

He knew the Earth Bear might have ways to know many external events, but many things only Hill knew and could explain clearly.

Indeed, Haiweirsen knew many things. From his space ring, he took out a thick stack of papers.

Comparing Hill’s words, Haiweirsen continuously amended the content on the papers with a pen.

After organizing these notes, Haiweirsen smiled.

Leaning back on the sofa, he said with great pleasure, ”Indeed, going out back then to help that human leader break free from elven and dwarven control was the right move.

The Spirit of the Earth may not believe in the Goddess of the Earth; even if they received Mother Earth’s blessings to appear in this world, that was the wish of the Goddess of the Earth, and we would not go against it.

But they absolutely shouldn’t believe in the gods of the elves and dwarves.

The decision back then was not wrong. The human race is indeed the Spirit of the Earth that Mother Earth values so highly!

We simple-minded Earth Bears couldn’t have accomplished these things.”

Hill looked at the eloquent Earth Bear clan leader in surprise, ”So the pursuit by the half-elf demigod was actually related to that?

When the God of Nobility appeared, it was clear the elves aimed to control him.

However, this first human king, blessed by the gods, not only chose the most suitable place and time to establish the kingdom but also managed to owe no debts to the elves throughout his divine path.

Moreover, the human god of craftsmanship, who was fully supported by the dwarves,

always encountered the strongest magical beasts while leading humans to fight them. In that crucial search for a suitable place to establish the kingdom, he even got lost.

Therefore, humans preferred to follow and believe in the God of Nobility, who could bring them more benefits and was clearly more fortunate and powerful, and supported him as the first king.

Hill quietly watched the smiling Haiweirsen. He finally unraveled the mystery of why the elves and dwarves perpetually viewed the Earth Bear bloodline as the most dangerous enemy.

Of course, they wouldn’t let the world know that not even combined, they could outplay an Earth Bear.

But in secret, they absolutely wanted to completely exterminate this race.

So the elven royal family had a legitimate prince spend over a hundred years wooing Virginia, considering it not an active move against the Earth Bears but rather retaliation against the Earth Bear clan leader.

Therefore, Haiweirsen chose to flee without saying anything, knowing the elves would never spare him.

But despite facing so many dangers, he still stayed around the outskirts of the wilderness with Virginia for so long.

If Virginia hadn’t made that choice, he might have been willing to do anything to protect his daughter.

Hill glanced at the pensive Earth Bear clan leader and suddenly understood why he was so saddened back then.

Haiweirsen could sacrifice everything, including his life, for his daughter. But he absolutely couldn’t drag down the entire race along with him.

Yet this Haiweirsen’s daughter happened to be someone who could throw everything, including her father’s life and the safety of all Earth Bears, aside for her so-called love.

Hill couldn’t help but softly say, ”Virginia regretted it. Though she suffered a bit, she is, after all, an elf and never faced any danger to her life.

She is also a demigod now, having been sheltered by the Goddess of the Hunt.

I heard recently she wanted to enter the wilderness to find the Earth Bears and seek your forgiveness.”

Haiweirsen’s mouth curled into a cold smile, ”No need to comfort me, Hill.

Though just a half-baked druid, there’s very little in the wilderness that can escape my eyes.

Is she seeking my forgiveness? She just wants to lead those so-called Dark Moon Elves to my former dwelling place.

I regret preserving that forest for such unworthy memories.

It’s simply a joke.”

Hill also had nothing to say.

Though he was related to Virginia, his Moon Elf bloodline was quite faint, and he had no feelings for the lady.

He only wanted to say a few good words for her as a way to comfort Haiweirsen.

Since Haiweirsen knew everything, Hill could only choose to remain silent with a bitter smile.

Haiweirsen shook his head, not wanting to remember that wretched daughter anymore.

He directly asked about his confusion, ”How did your bit of Moon Elf bloodline survive? Your Wood Element inheritance has nothing to do with Moon Elves.

The Moon Elf bloodline only allows you to communicate with magical plants amicably but lacks the divine arts.

And Water System Divine Art! Even the most powerful human sorcerer couldn’t possess this inheritance.”

Now it was Hill’s turn to smile bitterly.

He hesitated a bit before asking, ”Do you know there’s an ancient Crystal Flower in the Wilderness Sea?”

Haiweirsen froze, ”Yunifrola? How is she involved? I know she sends some puppets out to view the outside world.

But could those almost lifeless bodies even bear children?”

Hill awkwardly laughed, ”Perhaps it’s due to the high vitality from being a mix of an elf and a water sorcerer?”

Haiweirsen nodded approvingly, ”Originally, your bit of elven bloodline would fiercely conflict with the Earth Bear bloodline.

Either neutralizing each other to become entirely human or it would make survival impossible.

The awakening of the Crystal Flower bloodline filling that gap was unexpected; indeed, you are a lucky child.”

He looked at Hill with gentle eyes, ”But it was also your innate spiritual power that made it possible. No matter what, fortunately, you survived.

Thank goodness the Earth Bear bloodline was strong enough not to let you turn into a crystal flower upon maturity. Otherwise, how could you have lived?”

Hill couldn’t help but smile, ”Yunifrola said the same thing.”

Suddenly remembering, he handed a space ring to Haiweirsen, ”Please keep these pearls safe.”

Haiweirsen nodded and accepted the ring, ”Were these pearls given to you by Yunifrola? I will repay her for this.”

Hill felt something was off about the statement but couldn’t pinpoint it, so he just nodded lightly in agreement.
