Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 534: Chapter 333: The World Will of Gerns

Hill removed his hood and silently deactivated the hiding function of his hairpin.

Since he had been discovered by William, there was nothing left for Hill to hide.

Moreover, once the sunflowers instantly began to take root and sprout, even the Undead Tribe would guess that it was Hill who had come.

”Who is in charge of Saral now?” Hill couldn’t help but ask as he stood up, ”The Chancellor doesn’t have that authority, does he? You surely can’t expect the God of Time and Space to handle national affairs for you.”

”Why else would I say that I really need Adrian!” William revealed a slight, triumphant smile. ”He has managed Belter very well.

Now in Saral, things just need to follow their course, Belter can handle it entirely.

It’s just Central City that demands a person as capable as Adrian to take on the responsibilities, all the troubles are basically there, and it’s impossible for anything to happen to Saral itself.

The God of Time and Space is still around! The Capital is his Divine Realm.”

”Belter?” Hill asked in surprise, ”You’ve decided on this?”

”I left a decree, appointing him as Crown Prince and to monitor the kingdom. By this time, Saral should already know.” William laughed indifferently, ”Being king isn’t my ultimate goal, so why keep those members of the Saral Royal Family like cultivated guises. Since Belter is suitable, let it be straightforward.

My future is among the stars, Saral’s future, needs to consider Belter.”

Then, the King of Saral quietly added, ”If he does poorly, am I not still the king? As long as I don’t die out there, I can still handle things upon returning.

Belter won’t cause any major issue that even the God of Time and Space can’t mend.”

Hill guessed he wanted to say his future was among the stars and the sea, but considering Hill was the father of the Sea God, he avoided those words.

Belter had already become the Crown Prince!

”Has his relationship with the Undead Tribe improved then?” Hill remembered the ruckus in Central City.

He really hadn’t expected that William would appoint Belter, who had conflicts with the Undead Tribe, as his successor.

”Compared to other royalty, who are extremely submissive to the Undead Tribe, Belter who has attempted to probe the attitude of the Undead Tribe towards the Saral Royal Nobility satisfies me much more.

With millions of the Undead appearing in Saral, many Great Nobles can’t sleep at night. As one who wants to vie for Saral’s throne in the future, he must assert his stance.

That probe, although it embarrassed many Great Nobles, at least assured them that the Undead only wanted to embarrass them, not take their lives.

Have you not noticed that since then, the Saral Nobles began interacting with the Undead Tribe?”

”Belter is the only member of the Saral Royal Family who stepped out to appease the Great Nobles, I’m of course very pleased. I want a successor, not an obedient puppet.”

Hill, of course, didn’t notice anything; he left once the show was over.

It was probably later that Adrian realized it and started to seriously teach Belter.

However, William might have intended to let Belter train in Central City for a decade or so before this, not expecting such an accident to make Belter the Crown Prince ahead of time.

The Saral Royal Family members might be jealous of Belter but wouldn’t act against him, not to mention that the Royal Palace was definitely under the protection of the God of Time and Space, and they themselves would worry in case Belter was assassinated, whether an angry William would choose another successor from the Saral Family.

Ignoring the smiling William, Hill casually sat by the window.

The windows of this palace could actually see everything outside clearly, the disguise was truly impressive, Hill hadn’t noticed any flaws from the outside.

Members of the Undead Tribe soon entered the palace, receiving sunflower seeds.

Hill could feel, even though he was sitting in a corner, that every member of the Undead Tribe glanced at him a few times before leaving.

He helplessly watched the scenery outside. In the eyes of the Undead, they surely must consider Hill as an NPC with an important plot task, right?

Hill himself had not anticipated that on his first day here, he would be exposed.

It was also his miscalculation; he should have realized earlier that something powerful enough to make even the mighty God Coron feel helpless, the Abyss, must be thoroughly connected with this world by now, right?

William had many matters to attend to; Hill could hear him constantly directing the pursuit of the outgoing Undead.

Meanwhile, in the camp, the Undead, having entered the Alchemy Huts in turns, made room for later arrivals.

Hill watched for a while, roughly estimating that about two-thirds of the Undead had come.

Truly, no matter how enticing the new data section, there were still some who intended to take their time.

The Undead had already started their engraving of the projective magic arrays; Hill could no longer bear to watch.

Even though he could recite these arrays upside-down and never make a mistake with a single stroke, thinking of all the time and sweat he had spent learning these in the past made him not want to watch these guys who could still portray them incorrectly bit by bit.

Hill stood up; the Undead had already scattered the seeds inside and outside the valley.

The priests and mages of the Undead Tribe had calculated the time accurately and took turns running out of the house to release their mix of rain and snow.

Within a hundred miles, not a single demon could be seen.

Hill flew in the sky, constantly releasing Nature’s Blessing. The Sunflowers had just sprouted their flower branches and felt the spreading demonic aura almost instantly, blooming and bearing fruit in moments. Hill watched the bursting sunflower seeds and furrowed his brow.

This was under the continuous downpour of Holy Rain. Surely, this world had one foot already sliding into the Abyss, right?

He looked up at the sky. The sun had already set behind the mountains, and the moon was slowly revealing its face.

Hill looked up at this peculiar moon, different from Teraxil’s moon. The moon in this world was a ring made up of small moons.

And the colors were completely different—silver, yellow, red, and even black. Flickering dimly and brightly in the sky, currently at the top of the Moon Halo was a silver moon.

After watching for a while, Hill discovered that each small moon had its own master, and their factions were all different.

The Moon Goddess of this world could probably hold her own in a fight.

Still, it was at least stronger than the sun. Even after the demons had dispersed, Hill observed the sun of this world for some time; the lifeless sensation allowed him to confirm that the Sun God of this world had completely fallen.

The Moon Goddess of the kind alignment in the silver moon, although clearly heavily wounded, was at least still alive.

After finishing his tasks, Hill turned and flew back to the valley. From below, the Undead Tribe was frantically shouting, ”Hill! Cast a mana restoration spell! We can’t take any more! We’re out of Mana Potions!”

Hill stopped helplessly in mid-air, looking down as numerous people rushed out shouting at him.

It seemed that the Undead Tribe that had gone out to pursue had also returned.

He promptly used the Water of Tranquility spell, then set up his mobile Magic Tower and walked right in. His spirit was somewhat exhausted, and he needed a good rest.

Hill would not stay in William’s palace; the pervasive Divine Power of Time and Space there made him uncomfortable.

Even though the God of Time and Space had brought William out, he had also expended a significant amount of Divine Power to save his life. Hill was certain; if there ever came a day when that palace was on the brink of shattering, the God of Time and Space’s backup plan would definitely involve spatially transporting both the person and the building together.

William had not shared with Hill the matters of this world. As Hill slowly moved to rest in his room, he thought that the King of Saral had always been generous, not the kind to keep such information secret. This could only mean that neither of the two had spoken in detail about this world.

It seemed that both William and himself would have to rely on their own eyes and ears to discern the truth of this world.

Hill was pondering this even as he lay in the bathtub, wondering if even those two deities were unsure whether there was anyone in this world worth saving.

Hill awoke in the morning to an ear-splitting cheer.

He walked to the window and saw that the Undead Tribe was celebrating the full activation of the defense formation at their camp.

William appeared in mid-air and loudly declared, ”The Teraxil camp has now been established! Thank you all for your tireless effort.

My undead friends, in recognition of your outstanding contributions, we are about to commence the max-level class change quest.

Once you reach level 100, you can receive the quest from Spencer.

The legendary future awaits your exploration.”

Hill leaned on the window ledge, looking skeptically at William in the sky, for even in the Mage Association’s faux legends, one had to enter the world’s center and be exposed to a hint of the Law’s essence.

It was certain that Teraxil would not allow so many outsiders to access its core, so what was William planning?

Could it be that the World Will of this world had already made contact with William?

In a bid to prevent being consumed by the Abyss, this world seemed willing to accept deities from other worlds, seemingly permitting outsiders a mere glance at its core.

Hill quickly confirmed his suspicion.

As William finished speaking, a glow of Laws rose from the valley.

This world introduced itself to the Undead Tribe: ”I am Gerns, and I thank you all for coming. I have become too weak and can only offer you a trivial amount of help.

I may have to enter into sleep soon, in hopes of one day awakening.”

His voice slowly faded, and all the various magic arrays in the camp were instantly strengthened to the utmost.

Including the valley’s space—previously requiring some people to remain in the rooms—the camp could now accommodate everyone at once.

Hill observed carefully; this spatial expansion was slightly different from that of the God of Time and Space.

Although he could feel the valley was getting bigger, on closer inspection, it seemed to still be its original size.

Hill couldn’t help scratching his head; the God of Time and Space, though called a deity, acted more like a mage. He adhered to some of the usual common sense; like Hill, who believed space should indeed be expanded to its maximum to accommodate more things!
