Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 146: Chapter 96: Homestay Sets Sail: Riverside Cottage [13,000 Words!]

This is also a layer of security for people running a homestay.

Li Younan demonstrated the process once using his own ID for Ren Xiaohuan, and Ren Xiaohuan more or less understood. Then, Li Younan also performed the checkout process, making the whole flow clear.

Li Younan put away his ID and said with a smile, ”This is the whole check-in and check-out process. Generally speaking, once guests check-in, you don’t have to worry too much. If they have any reasonable requests, just help them handle it.”

Ren Xiaohuan nodded.

Li Younan continued, ”At that time, I’ll give you a 20% commission according to the room rate. The room rate is variable. As for how it varies...”

Li Younan found a similar homestay online, ”Let’s use this homestay as a reference, and set our price at 80% of its rate. For example, if this homestay charges 230 yuan per room per day, then we set it around 200 yuan. You can adjust it as you see fit.”

Ren Xiaohuan nodded again.

After hesitating a bit, Ren Xiaohuan said softly, ”I have a question.”

Li Younan nodded, ”Hmm.”

Ren Xiaohuan said somewhat hesitantly, ”Isn’t 20% too high?”

Li Younan found it amusing, how everyone he met seemed to negotiate opposite to him. First, it was JK Long, and now Ren Xiaohuan.

Li Younan said, ”If you think it’s high, then just make sure the service quality matches the price.”

Ren Xiaohuan pondered and softly replied, ”Oh.”

The grandma brought over some fruit, smiling and inviting Li Younan and Ren Xiaohuan to try it.

Today Lu Xiaolan didn’t come over; she’s preparing to buy some items for school.

Lu Xiaolan got into Chongqing University, and as the school start date approached, the girl became more and more excited.

Li Younan plans to personally drive her there later, and he also wants to visit Chongqing.

Chongqing is the next destination of the journey.

Grandpa and grandma were genuinely happy about turning the house into a homestay.

To them, it seemed like a windfall.

In their view, without doing anything, they could earn several hundred a day, totaling over ten thousand a month, like picking money off the street.

And the house and courtyard, which had been quiet, would also become lively.

Grandpa even imagined their future life: leisurely chatting with tourists while smoking a cigarette pipe, occasionally letting them try some rural dishes. Such a life seemed truly wonderful.

Regarding the booking platform, Li Younan only opened reservations on one platform and directly posted the link in his showcase.

As for the promotional video, he simply used the one about the renovation of his old house.

Around ten o’clock, the first batch of guests arrived.

Ren Xiaohuan was a bit nervous, standing there at a loss for what to do.

Since there were only three rooms, even if one room corresponded to one car, there would be at most three cars.

The courtyard at grandpa’s house wasn’t that big, but Li Younan had designated three parking spaces, which was more than enough.

The cars drove in and parked in the designated spots.

Ren Xiaohuan proactively stepped forward to handle the check-in for the guests from this car.

Li Younan didn’t intervene, only observed Ren Xiaohuan from the side.

Before this, Li Younan did have some concerns.

After all, Ren Xiaohuan was still young, about the same age as Lu Xiaolan, and being nervous was inevitable.

However, as Ren Xiaohuan started handling the check-in for the guests, Li Younan gradually relaxed.

Ren Xiaohuan quickly got into the groove and completed the check-in procedures efficiently, then led the guests to their rooms, marking the successful completion of the reception.

Old Zhou naturally came for Li Younan.

After putting down his luggage, he came out to greet Li Younan.

There was none of that exaggerated body language or emotional fluctuations you’d imagine when a fan meets a streamer; Old Zhou casually said, ”Didn’t expect you’re even younger than I imagined!”

He turned back and said to his brother-in-law, ”How is it? Better than you imagined, huh?”

The brother-in-law’s eyes wandered around the courtyard; hearing this, he didn’t respond verbally but nodded.

Li Younan extended his hand and smiled, ”Welcome, you’re our first batch of guests. Do you mind if I record a video?”

Old Zhou chuckled, ”Not at all, not at all. Being featured in a big streamer’s video is great, haha.”

Then, Li Younan took his first batch of guests on a tour.

Old Zhou’s two kids were still in elementary school, while his brother-in-law’s eldest was already a middle school student.

Li Younan took them to the riverside courtyard he had meticulously crafted.

Entering through the back door, the first thing that came into view was the small waterfall about a meter high.

The water was channeled from the village’s clean water canal, very clear, and always flowing, cooling down the entire courtyard considerably.

Fruit trees, a garden, stone pathways, a pergola, and a barbecue grill—all complete.

Seeing this, the brother-in-law blinked.

At this moment, Old Zhou chuckled again and said to him, ”So? Not bad, right?”

The brother-in-law still didn’t speak but nodded.

Running a homestay was also a first for Li Younan. These three rooms brought him some experience; in fact, it’s not that difficult.

Li Younan couldn’t help but imagine that perhaps someday in the future, on a whim, he’d open his own little homestay somewhere else, who knows.

...

As the first batch of guests, there was still a slight worry in Li Younan’s heart, worried whether they might find it boring or think the homestay was not interesting.
