Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 113: Chapter 90: Your Cousin Really Is a Total Heartthrob!

Li Younan said, ”My idea, well, I can’t explain it in just one or two sentences... but I have a rough plan in my head.”

”To be honest, there’s a lot to renovate at Grandpa and Grandma’s place. Apart from a slope in the backyard where we could use an excavator, most areas aren’t that easy and will need manual work.”

”First, the plumbing and wiring need to be redone, and many parts of the house need new plastering. But actually, the house is only one story tall, so the workload isn’t too big. I plan to take it slow...”

After sending these messages, Brother Long didn’t reply with the usual mood-killing ”too long, didn’t read.” Instead, he asked curiously after a moment, ”What do you mean... you plan to take it slow? Don’t tell me you intend to do the whole renovation yourself?”

Li Younan puffed up with pride again and said, ”You know I’m good at carpentry, right? Learned it back in elementary school with building blocks.”

”But what you don’t know is, when I was a kid, I played with mud and learned bricklaying. Then, I played with remote-controlled cars and picked up electrical work. In short, standing before you is a talented mason, electrician, carpenter...”

After sending this message, Li Younan was predictably disregarded by Brother Long.

The scornful words were unpleasant, so there’s no need to share them.

A moment later, Brother Long got a bit more serious and said, ”You could record the whole process, post some videos.”

He paused and then sent another message, ”Actually, I think you could even livestream the renovation with multiple camera angles, close-ups, distant shots, from different perspectives. Then, I’ll edit the footage from each camera and the daily results into videos. Whenever a section is completed, we’ll organize it into a video and post it.”

Li Younan had similar thoughts about Brother Long’s suggestion, so they were on the same page regarding this.

After thinking it over, Li Younan suddenly got curious and said, ”Brother Long, I’m surprised to see you online in the afternoon today.”

Brother Long was silent for a bit before messaging, ”I sometimes do things during the day.”

Li Younan couldn’t help but laugh. He thought for a moment and said, ”Honestly, it’s better to be active during the day; being up all night isn’t good for your health.”

Brother Long responded with just three words: ”You don’t understand.”

What Li Younan feared most was being told ”you don’t understand,” which could dismiss all your opinions, whether well-intentioned or not.

Li Younan wondered if Brother Long’s schedule was inverted due to work?

Well, since he didn’t say, it’s better not to ask.

Li Younan walked out of the house and suddenly sent a voice message to Brother Long: ”By the way, Brother Long, we haven’t video chatted yet even though we’ve known each other for so long. Let me show you my grandparents’ countryside home!”

After sending the voice message, Li Younan started a video chat, but the call was immediately declined.

Li Younan was puzzled and said, ”Come on, Brother Long, can’t even handle a video call?”

Brother Long sent back an angry emoji: ”What are you doing? Suddenly calling people on video is startling...”

Li Younan was taken aback and typed, ”Brother Long, that sounded... a bit girly...”

Brother Long: ”...”

”Fine, no video calls then... no need to show you.”

Li Younan put his phone back in his pocket and went to play with the big yellow dog nearby.

After a while, the phone pinged again. Brother Long sent a message saying, ”It would be good to have a look so I can guide you on where to position the cameras.”

Li Younan replied shortly, ”So fussy.”

In the end, it was Brother Long who initiated a video call, and this time, Li Younan answered happily. After all, he had just called Brother Long fussy, so he had to show some different attitude, right?

After all, he’s posted videos and shown his face online before, there’s no need to be so hesitant.

This was the first time video chatting with Brother Long, and Li Younan eagerly looked at the screen, then blinked because Brother Long’s camera was entirely black, obviously intentionally covered.

Li Younan said helplessly to the phone camera, ”Seriously, Brother Long, are you so camera-shy?”

An authoritative voice came from the other side, and Li Younan instantly recognized it as the voice from the video narration before. ”Don’t worry about what I look like, just turn the camera to show me your yard.”

Although Li Younan was a bit speechless, he obliged, using his phone to film while explaining his ideas to Brother Long in the video.

After about ten minutes, Li Younan ended the video chat.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to continue showing Brother Long, but someone else called in.

It was his cousin.

...

As soon as the video connected, the cousin’s chatter burst out: ”Hey, hey, have you already come back? I heard from Mom yesterday you were in town. Why didn’t you call me? Where are you anyway? I have so many questions to ask you, like, I’m looking for a summer job, do you have any recommendations?”

Before Li Younan could say a word, his cousin Lu Xiaolan rattled off a whole string of words.

Li Younan blinked and found a chance to speak in the midst of her talking: ”I’m at my grandparents’ house now.”

It’s worth mentioning that Lu Xiaolan, who’s just graduated high school, is a chatterbox.
