Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 115: Chapter 90: Your Cousin Is Such a Hunk!

After thinking for a while, Mom put the certificate back on the shoe cabinet and said, ”Forget it, tomorrow I’ll go out and buy some more glue and find a wall to make a new honor corner.”

Li Younan found it a bit amusing but didn’t stop Mom, it was her happiness, and even the person involved shouldn’t destroy it.

Before going to bed at night, Mom cut some fruit, and the two of them chatted in the living room.

Li Younan talked about today’s happenings in the countryside, about visiting Grandpa and Grandma, and discussed the house renovation plans with them.

Then, Li Younan grabbed a piece of white paper and roughly sketched some basic ideas, like how to handle the slope at the back, and general concepts about planning the water and electricity routes.

Mom, although she didn’t understand, listened very attentively. It wasn’t until the end that she raised her head to ask a question: ”How much is it going to cost?”

This question left Li Younan a bit stunned.

Honestly, Li Younan hadn’t really thought about the expense issue.

But Mom wasn’t wrong in reminding him, there’s no renovation that doesn’t cost money.

Even though Li Younan planned to handle most of the work himself, just buying materials and hiring an excavator would cost quite a bit.

Mom smiled, ”I’ll give you a hundred thousand yuan.”

Hearing this, Li Younan quickly shook his head, ”No need, I’ll cover this cost.”

Mom immediately looked a bit displeased, and knocked on Li Younan’s head, ”What are you saying? Am I supposed to take the money to the grave? Of course, it’s all for you! Talking about whose money it is...”

”You just quit your job and wandered around half of China, how much money can you have? Even if you did have money, do I, as your mother, need you to spend money on my parents?”

Ever since marrying into the family, Mom called his grandparents Mom and Dad.

These few words left Li Younan speechless, he smiled, ”Mom, that’s not what I meant, well... okay then.”

Li Younan thought, Mom was right, although he had several tens of thousands in savings, it really wasn’t enough to renovate Grandpa and Grandma’s house.

Though Mom was a single woman, she had a job at a unit, and her income from the bank wasn’t low.

There were no major household expenses, no car bought, no need to buy a house, and she didn’t indulge in luxury spending; the only regular expense was likely for Li Younan’s education. After so many years, a hundred thousand yuan wasn’t a big deal to her savings.

Mom added, ”If it’s not enough, just tell Mom. Don’t talk about whose money it is in the future, okay? What’s mine is yours!”

Mom rarely sounded so serious.

Li Younan felt a tiny bit of respect, as his usually gentle mother, when serious, exuded some indescribable authority.

They said nothing more that night.

The next day, Li Younan planned to visit the building materials market.

He got up early in the morning.

While Mom was preparing breakfast, Li Younan was listing the materials roughly needed on a piece of paper.

Of course, it wasn’t necessary to buy everything at once.

The first step was to solidify the road outside Grandpa and Grandma’s house.

Then, scrape what needed scraping, demolish what needed demolishing, breaking old to establish new.

The materials needed for this stage weren’t much, so there was no need to buy too far in advance.

Later on, materials for water and electricity renovation, painting renovation... Storing the bought materials was also a problem.

Having listed this inventory, Li Younan took a picture, planning to visit the building materials market after a while.

Just then, Lu Xiaolan video-called: ”Cousin, cousin, are you up yet? Can I come over a bit earlier?”

Li Younan said, ”Sure.”

Then he saw Lu Xiaolan in the video say to someone next to her, ”Great, my cousin agreed, let’s head over right away.”

Li Younan vaguely heard a girl’s voice outside the video frame say, ”Wow... your cousin is really a handsome guy!”
