Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 144: Chapter 96: Launching the Guesthouse: Riverside Cottage [13,000 Words!]

On the other hand, Li Younan, having previously worked in a network company, was somewhat familiar with the business model of MCN agencies... there were too many pits.

When an influencer suddenly stops updating videos at a particular time, it often means they’ve signed with an MCN agency and are trying to figure out how to break the contract.

Being independent like now, you can update videos whenever you want, and travel alone whenever you want.

In the future, once the fan base increases, you can sustain yourself in any case, and you don’t even have to shoot too many ads; just a few deals a month would suffice.

Moreover, Brother Long has become my commercial agent, directly liaising with business partners, making things more transparent and saving me a lot of hassle.

At this moment, Li Younan was in his room, checking the video one last time.

This video was the final version edited by Brother Long, summarizing all the videos of the old house renovation. Covering the timeline from the initial state of the old house to its completely transformed current state at various points in time.

The entire video was a full 20 minutes long.

I must admire Brother Long’s editing skills here.

To be precise, his editing is not just a dry operation of video editing software.

If you have to compare it to something, Brother Long is more like a director.

Such a massive amount of material, disassembled and re-edited by him, is filled with plot twists and turns, yet not easily noticeable by the viewers.

At the start of the video, the magnetic voice recites a monologue depicting the old house’s conditions, where water and electricity were inconvenient, the terrible latrine, the greasy kitchen, rats scurrying across the beams, and the useless slope, alongside the bumpy concrete yard.

This really hooks the audience, as no one wouldn’t eagerly anticipate seeing what the final renovation looked like.

It’s a big story arc featuring initial setbacks followed by success.

As the renovation began, every stage faced its challenges and creative solutions, which pushed the video forward with ups and downs. A larger arc of setback and success enveloped smaller arcs with the same theme, consistently holding the audience’s interest while rhythmically satisfying their minor emotional fluctuations, ultimately fulfilling the core emotion of the viewers at the climax moment.

A lengthy 20 minutes passed without the slightest feeling of fatigue.

It goes without saying, this is indeed a high-quality video that can keep people hooked for 20 minutes straight.

Li Younan watched it twice, with pauses and rewinds in between, taking nearly an hour.

With a heartfelt appreciation, he remarked, ”Brother Long, this video is truly amazing. It’s my good fortune to have you as my video packager.”

Uncharacteristically, Brother Long didn’t retort at Li Younan, but instead calmly replied, ”The video’s material is the foundation. Although you didn’t use very high-end filming techniques, you captured all the renovation details, and the clarity is excellent. Having such solid material gave me room to edit.”

A rare moment of mutual appreciation in the business.

Meanwhile, in a corner somewhere, a girl’s mouth curled up slightly: ”Onward, my travel frog...”

Of course, the commercial value of this video is undoubtedly high.

Under Brother Long’s management, an ad for a camera was inserted into the video, with a single price of as high as 50,000 yuan, and if the data performs well, an additional 30,000 yuan could be gained.

This pricing is almost equivalent to that of having 500,000 followers, and it’s treatment that only vertically specialized influencers can get.

Yet, Brother Long just bluntly clinched the deal.

The ad insertion was in the middle phase, for only about 20 seconds.

Li Younan was also a bit shocked. It was an expensive 20 seconds indeed.

In response, Brother Long nonchalantly said, ”Stop always thinking about saving money for those brand capitalists. To be honest, their marketing departments casually spend hundreds of thousands to tens of millions on marketing expenses. All of this money is from the shareholders, so they don’t care at all when spending it. If they’re not concerned, why are you fretting over it?”

After multiple confirmations, Li Younan clicked to upload and publish the video.

This video release is just the first outcome of the old house renovation.

The second outcome, undoubtedly, is those three rooms that can be used as a homestay.

To do this, you first need to handle the necessary licenses and documents.

In fact, Li Younan had already arranged it in advance.

His grandparents’ house only had three rooms, which simplified the process. By the time Li Younan uploaded the video, all the necessary documentation had been successfully obtained.

The more complicated part was installing a computer at home to connect to the police’s guest information collection system.

For the grandparents, operating a computer certainly wasn’t feasible.

Luckily, Ren Xiaohuan had already agreed to help.

Tomorrow, Li Younan will install the computer and teach Ren Xiaohuan how to operate it.

For young people, it only takes minutes to learn.

Of course, this is all still a plan.

Whether this homestay can really work out has to be tested with real guests staying in.

However, Li Younan wasn’t counting on earning too much from it.

If, for various reasons, it can’t be managed, or if they don’t want to continue, these rooms could be used when he and his mother visit the grandparents, which would be nice too.

...

Old Zhou worked in Mianyang City, facing the computer every day, sitting in a cubicle all day long.

Reports, schemes, client calls, all felt like a production line, with his mental string tightly wound up, so tired by the time he got home that he didn’t even feel like talking.

His wife often said he just collapsed onto the sofa when he got home, with a face looking like a bitter gourd.
