Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 132: Chapter 94: Li Younan’s Carving Knife

Li Younan’s series of rural renovation videos, although not very popular at the moment, have caught the attention of some corporate promotions.

Because Li Younan doesn’t really check private messages, and his homepage lists a WeChat for business collaborations, quite a few partners have added him on WeChat lately.

Finishing a busy day, he lazily took out his phone at home to check those messages.

First, there were those kinds of greetings like ”Hello? You there?” which Li Younan ignored. How should I put it... just too unprofessional.

Those who say ”Hello? You there?” are either inexperienced greenhorns or people with poor communication skills, which only reduce efficiency and waste time. Communicating further with them probably wouldn’t yield great results.

Although it’s a stereotype, there’s some truth to it.

In contrast, those who directly state their needs and specifics when saying hello give off a more professional impression.

At the very least, when adding someone as a friend, saying ”I’m from such-and-such company,” also leaves a relatively professional impression.

Li Younan organized the dozen or so partners who added him recently. According to some partners’ requests, inserting ads significantly reduces the viewing experience of the videos, and the corresponding compensation isn’t very high.

The vast majority of partners offer within the range of 5,000 yuan, a figure based on Li Younan’s follower count.

Although his followers have now skyrocketed to 200,000, at this level, a single promotional deal usually only brings in a few thousand yuan. For most in the media business, a few thousand is quite good. Maintaining it for a month and securing a few deals could net tens of thousands, considered quite a high income group.

However, Li Younan knows his situation is different from other streamers of the same magnitude.

Because the likes on each of his videos are very high, which is also his bargaining chip.

His thinking is, if inserting ads would degrade the video viewing experience, then a few thousand yuan is definitely not enough, as this concerns the long-term development of his account.

After sifting through, Li Younan temporarily selected only three commercial promotions.

One is a psoriasis-like used recycling website, and the other is a used car trading site.

The requirements for these promotions aren’t high, only needing a ten-second ad script to be read in the video. After negotiation, the price for these two deals was raised to 7,000 yuan each, which is quite high for someone of his level.

And there’s another promotion, though priced a bit lower, with even lower requirements—it’s from a certain beverage brand.

The requirement is just to have their brand of electrolyte drink appear for at least 20 seconds in the video, without needing any deliberate ad read, which is very friendly for Li Younan.

It can be seamlessly integrated into the video!

He’ll be busy for a while, and might hire some temporary workers too. Just in time, he needs the sponsorship from the beverage company, which was also happy to provide dozens of boxes of electrolyte drinks to the address given by Younan.

The price for each video depends on views, ranging from 2,000 yuan to 5,000 yuan, and they can collaborate long term.

Li Younan’s idea is that the whole series of videos can collaborate with this electrolyte drink, but he requested 5,000 to 10,000 yuan for the last video in the series because, according to Brother Long, the last video has the highest traffic.

They didn’t immediately reject this; they just said they needed to think about it.

Li Younan’s current problem is that he doesn’t really have the energy to handle all the commercial affairs.

In the evening before sending a video to JK Long, he casually mentioned this matter since he needs Brother Long to insert the ads while editing.

JK Long snickered and said, ”What kind of ads are these? They drop the class, and the money’s quite low too.”

According to the contract with JK Long, this part of the income entitles him to a commission.

Li Younan thought somewhat leisurely, he thought he was a creature detached from human affairs, but it turns out he does care about profits.

If ads are going in, JK Long will surely know, since he’s the one editing the videos.

However, Li Younan realized a bug: the commercials are discussed with him, the price is also set by him, and the eventual earnings are directly transferred to him; thus, Brother Long at most only knows there is a commercial deal, but the exact price is all orally conveyed from his side... it’s all up to him.

Like, if a company pays him 10,000 yuan, he could tell Brother Long it’s 1,000 yuan, and Brother Long wouldn’t be able to verify it.

Thinking for a bit, Li Younan honestly explained this to JK Long.

On the other end, JK Long was silent for a while before saying, ”So what?”

Li Younan gently scratched his bangs, typing, ”It would be best to find a way that benefits both parties. Otherwise, how about this, every time I sign a promotional contract, I can scan a copy and send it to you.”

After sending this message to JK Long, Li Younan saw the other side was in ”typing” status for a while, but after some time, the message came through: ”No need.”

Li Younan looked at those three words, feeling amused for a moment.

For someone he’s never met in person, how can he have such trust?
