Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 139: Chapter 95: Checking in at the Matchmaking Corner, Unlocking Sharpshooter

Meanwhile, Mom and Lu Xiaolan quickly distanced themselves from him, wearing expressions as if they were ready to enjoy a good show. If you gave them some sunflower seeds, they’d probably start cracking them open on the spot.

Li Younan squinted his eyes with exasperation, a mischievous idea forming in his mind. He pointed to his mom and said to the auntie, ”That’s my mom. Why don’t you let my mom go over first and see if she agrees?”

As soon as Li Younan said this, the auntie immediately turned her gaze towards Mom.

Mom looked bewildered, blinking her eyes: ”Huh?”

Soon after, the auntie enthusiastically went over to chat with Mom: ”Sister, is he your son? Let’s have a little chat!”

The auntie engaged Mom in enthusiastic conversation, not giving her a chance to respond. In the face of such a barrage, Mom muddled through, saying, ”No... this, that, um, okay, let’s go have a look then...”

Lu Xiaolan couldn’t help but burst out laughing, happily tagging along with the auntie and Mom.

Li Younan felt a lot quieter, and only then did he slowly move on to browse the next item. After finishing, the system message of task completion came again.

Even though his initial eagerness for the rewards from task completion had dulled, he was still quite looking forward to it.

[Check-in Task Completed]

[Random Reward Being Acquired...]

[Archery Skill +1!]

[Archery Skill lv.1: After ten thousand times of drawing the bow, you gain steel fingers and iron arms, able to shoot accurately within a seventy-meter range.]

Li Younan absorbed some theoretical knowledge about archery, which wasn’t much. More importantly, he felt his physical fitness had improved.

Although his physique hadn’t changed much, he distinctly felt his arms, shoulders, chest, and back becoming more relaxed... this was a sign of improved strength and flexibility.

Unfortunately, he had previously increased his strength through climbing and parkour, which in combination had even leveled up skills, so the strength in his hands and back surely improved his archery skill, but unlike last time, it didn’t directly level up his archery skill.

This skill couldn’t be used in many scenarios, Li Younan thought about it. Probably only in some archery experience centers was it applicable; otherwise, he could only think of something like the show ”Alone in the Wilderness”.

Alone in the Wilderness, haha, it seems no Chinese person has participated in that show yet.

Coming to People’s Park this time, the most important thing had been accomplished, and naturally, Li Younan’s mood was great.

By now, Mom and Lu Xiaolan had run far off, so Li Younan leisurely strolled in their direction. In no time, they appeared in his view.

The same auntie who led Mom over was earnestly advising a young woman about twenty-seven or eight: ”You see, you’re already 29 years old. You say you’ll find someone on your own, but can you really?”

The young woman responded in a thick Chengdu accent: ”Mind your own business with my matters. It’s really annoying. If I can’t get married, then so be it. Anyway, even if you put up my info here, I won’t meet those people, and I certainly won’t go on blind dates!”

Mom and Lu Xiaolan stood silently by the side. The auntie helplessly said to Mom, ”Forget it, sister, my girl isn’t that fortunate; just let her be! (I won’t bother with her!)”

Mom reassured, ”No worries, no worries.”

At this point, Lu Xiaolan saw Li Younan and shouted, ”Cousin.”

Li Younan sauntered over lazily, saying, ”Mom, it’s about time. Shall we go have some tea and also discuss what to eat tonight?”

Mom nodded and said to the auntie, ”Sorry, we’ll be heading off now.”

Li Younan gave the auntie a slight smile to show politeness.

Lu Xiaolan cheerfully said, ”Cousin, I want to eat crayfish tonight.”

Li Younan replied, ”You tell your Aunt, as long as she agrees, it’s fine.”

And so, the three of them ambled away.

The auntie, somewhat regretfully, watched Li Younan’s retreating figure and let out a gentle sigh. She was about to scold her daughter a bit when she suddenly noticed her daughter staring blankly at Li Younan’s back.

”Hmm?”

The daughter snapped out of it, blinked, and asked, ”Is that boy the son of that lady?”

”Yes, I told you their son is very handsome but you didn’t believe me...”

”I... Do you have their contact number?”

The auntie said disdainfully, ”Now you regret it!”

The daughter snorted, ”No contact info at all...”

She chased after them, but in the crowd, the figures of Li Younan and his companions had long since disappeared.

...

At this time, Li Younan and his mom had already reached the exit of People’s Park and were preparing to find a teahouse to sit and enjoy the air conditioning for a bit.

Mom suddenly asked, with a lot of emotion, like she was talking to herself or to Li Younan and Lu Xiaolan: ”What do you guys think, are these parents meddling too much when arranging blind dates for their children, or is it out of love?”

Lu Xiaolan paused and shook her head, ”I don’t know, Aunt...”

Li Younan pondered for a moment, then suddenly smiled and asked, ”Mom, do you want me to find a girlfriend?”

Mom looked at Li Younan deeply and seriously said, ”I just want you to be happy and content.”
