Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 130: Chapter 93: Hardcore Renovation Begins: Fans Surge!

Halfway through the meal, Grandpa strolled back into the yard.

He looked at the yard, feeling a bit complicated.

Compared to before, the past two days have turned the entire yard and the slope behind it into a mess.

Even though Li Younan had planned everything quite reasonably, those obvious ditches made the yard look chaotic before they were filled.

At this moment, Li Younan also slowly drifted out and patiently explained to Grandpa the purpose of these trenches: ”Grandpa, look, this one will be directly connected to the bedroom. By then, the toilet will be right in the room, and the sewage will be discharged directly here into the village’s drainage channel.”

”Then this branch here connects to the main house, so later Grandma can use tap water for washing and cooking, and she won’t need to dump the wastewater outside anymore. Just pour it into the sink, and it’ll be drained away.”

Li Younan explained patiently. Grandpa pondered for a moment and then repeated something similar to what he said yesterday, essentially meaning that there’s no need to make things so complicated.

Li Younan said earnestly, ”A little trouble now means more convenience for you and Grandma later.”

Although Grandpa said this, he had a warm smile on his face.

He wasn’t a stubborn old man; he thought carefully about things.

The grandson didn’t have to go to such lengths, all for the sake of the two old folks... Even if the grandson messed up, as long as there was a bed and a stove left, it was no big deal! After all, they survived through hard famines in the past, didn’t they?

Grandpa quietly buried these feelings in his heart and just looked at Li Younan, his eyes slightly moist.

He felt a bit of longing for his son.

...

Today was a fulfilling day, but not particularly tiring.

As Li Younan drove back, Lu Xiaolan sat in the passenger seat, earnestly reading the comments on today’s video.

She was now fully immersed in her role as the big influencer’s assistant.

Lu Xiaolan chuckled and said, ”Cousin, how much salary will you give me in the future?”

Li Younan glanced at Lu Xiaolan and said, ”That depends on how many bricks you move tomorrow.”

”Ha, I don’t believe you’ll make me move bricks, cousin!”

From today on, Li Younan’s renovation truly entered the right track.

With the sand, cement, and various masonry, water, and electrical tools he’d bought arriving at Grandpa’s house one after another, the renovation work became more and more fulfilling and busy.

But the unfortunate thing was, just as Li Younan buried the sewer pipes and the inlet and outlet water pipes, backfilled, and did the hardening treatment, within three days, it started pouring rain.

Fortunately, the hardened cement had dried considerably in three days. With a layer of waterproof cloth on top, he didn’t worry about it getting ruined by the rain. Although outdoor work was off the table, indoor activities could still carry on.

Things like the chopping board table and cabinet needed organizing; particularly, the chopping board table and dish cabinet all needed replacing.

Grandpa and Grandma’s house was originally a cement structure, so there was no need to plaster it, saving the step of scraping the wall.

The bedroom’s space was about over 100 square meters, quite large, with four rooms inside. Li Younan, along with Lu Xiaolan, moved everything from two rooms to an empty room. The interior renovation would proceed one room at a time. Grandpa and Grandma’s bedroom remained untouched.

The weekend arrived, finally bringing sunny weather, allowing Mom to rest for two days. At her insistence, she came over to help.

At this point, the waterway renovation was completed, with the drainage and water pipes connected into the main house.

Li Younan spent the morning breaking down and clearing out the decades-old chopping board and wooden dish cabinet, freeing up a large space.

He then temporarily installed a stainless steel sink, enabling vegetable washing and dishwashing directly in the kitchen.

He also purchased an induction cooker; the earthen stove didn’t need to be moved. This kind of rural earthen stove is very practical, capable of burning coal or wood, and it has a large cauldron, sufficient for cooking for dozens of people at once.

Under Li Younan’s planning, all the construction steps progressed in an orderly and swift manner.

Since Li Younan began his project, a week had swiftly passed.

Li Younan paid no attention to the doubts in the first day’s video comments, only concentrating on using his own abilities to carry out the renovation.

Handling the back garden space, which had been leveled out, was a bit more troublesome. It’s no longer a slope; it’s almost entirely flat now.

Li Younan planned to turn that area into a small leisure backyard, with a grape trellis set up, some camping equipment added, and pretty flowers planted.

When the weather isn’t too hot, they could even fish directly in the Baishui River... Actually, thinking about it, Grandpa’s place has a pretty good geographical advantage, but this plan had to be postponed a bit.

The most crucial waterway and electrical renovations were completed.

Among them, the simplest was the electrical renovation, which required relatively less effort since Grandpa and Grandma had few appliances, making the wiring diagram uncomplicated.

Li Younan bought a new air switch and concealed all wires within pipes and buried them in walls, covered with cement.

He reserved outlet ports for any places where electricity might be used.

While doing this, he’d already envisioned the appliances to be installed in the final iteration of the house, including a washing machine, water dispenser, and air conditioner.
