Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 141: Chapter 96: Homestay Set Sail: Riverside Cottage [13,000 Words!] (Part 2)

Of course, these matters don’t really interest Grandma and Grandpa.

Li Younan had his reasons for transforming this place like this, which brings up those three bedrooms.

Besides Grandma and Grandpa’s bedroom, the other three rooms not only have private bathrooms but also feature exquisite carpentry and soft furnishings. They are simple and pleasing while being convenient to clean, entirely comparable to boutique hotel rooms.

When Li Younan finished creating these three rooms, many people on the live chat asked, ”Streamer, are these rooms for rent?”

”Suggest that the streamer uses these rooms as a homestay!”

”If it’s open for business, I’ll definitely come and show support!”

”Wow, the quality of these rooms is completely up to hotel standards, and they’re even cleaner!”

”Want to come and see Grandma and Grandpa...”

Grandma and Grandpa occasionally appear on camera during the stream; fans who regularly watch Li Younan’s livestream know them well by now.

However, Li Younan still hasn’t responded to these fans’ live chat messages.

The renovation plan has essentially reached completion at this point.

The next step involves meticulously refining some details.

At this stage, it becomes hard to see changes every day, and even after a busy day, the video might not show noticeable transformations.

Like carving some carpentry pieces to make them more attractive; trimming newly planted fruit trees; or revisiting areas that initially seemed reasonable but later felt in need of adjustments, doing some rework there.

Li Younan estimated that it would take about another week to finish completely, just in time for Lu Xiaolan to start school.

During this time, Lu Xiaolan continued working as a live streaming assistant.

Now she’s quite experienced, knowing exactly when to hype up the atmosphere, when to warn the followers to watch their language, and when to explain what Li Younan is doing — she handles all these matters with ease.

It’s undeniable that she’s saved Li Younan a lot of trouble.

From just a few dozen viewers at first to now a steady few hundred, sometimes even over a thousand, Lu Xiaolan has been indispensable.

Li Younan’s fan count has now exceeded 300,000, officially elevating him from a beginner streamer to a mid-tier streamer.

Streamers with between 100,000 to 1 million followers can generally be considered middle-tier, with monthly earnings ranging from a few thousand to over a million, enough to sustain a decent living.

However, Li Younan hasn’t truly capitalized on this status to earn significant money yet.

There’s no rush in this. Although he hasn’t received many big projects, over the past few months, Li Younan’s savings have steadily returned to six figures through filming videos and accepting commercial deals. This amount is after he gave Brother Long a cut.

Notably, after several prompts from Li Younan, Brother Long finally sent over the contract. The sent contract had been amended to include some commercial agent responsibilities in addition to the original video packaging role.

But what surprised Li Younan was, the contract didn’t have the full name, only the character ”Liu” and a red fingerprint. Seeing this fingerprint and incomplete name, Li Younan found it amusing.

He had thought Brother Long trusted him completely, but not revealing his real name on the contract made Li Younan see Brother Long as more genuine. Before this, he had thought the conditions posed by Brother Long were too good to be real, questioning whether he was a fictitious character.

The work in the final week was quite miscellaneous and not highly specialized, like cleaning and moving some odds and ends, making it rather painstaking for Li Younan. So, besides Lu Xiaolan needing to start ”brick-moving” in the final days, Li Younan now had another assistant.

At this moment, Ren Xiaohuan was carrying a pot of flowers into the residence. Grandma stepped out of the hall and said, ”Xiaohuan, come take a rest. I’ve made some mung bean soup.”

Ren Xiaohuan wiped the sweat off her forehead and replied, ”It’s okay, Grandma, I’m not tired.”

Ren Xiaohuan is Dou Dou’s older sister.

Because of the last incident with the carving knife, Ren Xiaohuan seemed a bit evasive when looking at Li Younan.

But several times, she brought some household items over for Li Younan’s grandparents — sometimes freshly picked vegetables, sometimes newly cooked cured meat and sausages.

Ren Xiaohuan is taking care of her little brother and paralyzed mother alone. The village provides their family with subsistence allowances, and her father, who works outside, sends money back every month, ensuring they’re not too impoverished.

Frankly, it’s hard to see the kind of life nowadays where people can’t afford meat or meals, portraying the true picture of rural life.

Yet every time she brings these items over, Ren Xiaohuan deliberately avoids Li Younan.

Once when she couldn’t avoid him, she bumped into Li Younan while he was working. She dropped her head in panic, said ”Sorry,” and quickly ran off.

Li Younan could roughly see that this young girl still felt apologetic about her brother’s incident.

In contrast, her little brother Dou Dou was far more thick-skinned.

Despite genuinely feeling ashamed, the next day he happily ran over to watch Li Younan work.

On a later day, Dou Dou even used the carving knife Li Younan had given him to carve something unknown and gave it to Li Younan in return. Li Younan inspected it carefully for a while and cautiously said, testing his words, ”This pig—”
