Chapter 126: Chapter 92: 100,000-Follower Streamer’s Rural Home Renovation Plan! (6,000 Words!)_3

In the afternoon, that small excavator finally arrived in Baishui Town.

This kind of mini excavator isn’t very big, but it’s perfect for working in the courtyard.

By opening the gate of the courtyard, it can even enter directly without damaging the gate structure.

Under Li Younan’s instruction, the excavator moved directly to the slope and started digging.

Li Younan set up the camera.

The young man operating the mini excavator was quite proficient. Under Li Younan’s guidance, he meticulously cleared the slope into a small platform over a meter high, piling up the extra parts below, gradually leveling out the entire slope.

This process naturally came with a lot of noisy clatter.

As Li Younan expected, there were many large stones on this slope that couldn’t be moved manually, but they were relatively easy for the mini excavator to handle.

Seeing that the young man completely understood his intentions, Li Younan felt at ease shooting the video from the side.

Just then, JK Long sent a message asking, ”When are you starting the renovation plan?”

Li Younan directly recorded a video on-site and sent it over, showing the excavator at work.

JK Long replied somewhat dissatisfied, ”Why did you start directly? You should have shot some videos of how the old house looked before starting construction...”

Li Younan confidently said, ”Relax, I’ve already shot that, but I used a camera, so I can’t send it to you right now. I can only send it to you tonight.”

Only then did JK Long’s tone improve a bit, saying bitterly, ”You finally have some sense.”

Li Younan coughed with some embarrassment.

Suddenly, JK Long suggested, ”Why don’t you start a live stream?”

Li Younan blinked, ”Live streaming?” He typed his self-talk and sent it to JK Long, ”Live streaming? Is there any use to live streaming now?”

JK Long replied, ”Actually, live streaming isn’t about traffic or making money, it’s to prove you’re genuinely doing it. Do you get what I mean?”

”There are too many old house renovation videos now. Simply posting a renovation video of an old house won’t generate as much traffic as before.”

”We need to think about unique points, something that’s different.”

”After thinking it over, didn’t you say you plan to do everything yourself?”

”You’re a travel blogger, and you look... pretty handsome, you can do a backflip like a cat, cook, and then, turn into a mason and electrician, which creates contrast and will definitely cause a stir.”

Li Younan’s attention landed on the phrase... does backflips like a cat.

Ha.

Though JK Long said this, Li Younan still found it odd and directly sent a voice message asking, ”I understand that, but what does it have to do with live streaming?”

JK Long then sent a long text again, ”Because it’s about being real.”

”If you don’t live stream and just produce a video, what issues might arise?”

”Someone might say you’re just staging it, just portraying a few shots of masonry work, and actually, most of the work is done by professionals you hired, so it creates suspicion and makes it hard to prove otherwise.”

”Even though it’s not a big deal, some people might still stir things up.”

”But if you live-streamed the whole process, it’d be different, then everyone would know you can really do everything.” After a pause, JK Long asked, ”Can you actually do everything?”

Li Younan started sending a voice message again, ”Lego, mud, and RC cars...”

JK Long dismissively sent three words, ”Get out of here.”

...

However, Li Younan didn’t plan to start live streaming today.

He discussed it with JK Long, and tonight, JK Long would work overtime to turn the footage of the initial courtyard state into a video and add some catchy text, such as ”Post-00s young man resigns and personally transforms an old house into a countryside villa...”

After working all afternoon, the entire slope already had the basic shape.

Another visit tomorrow, and the slope should be mostly organized.

Looking at today’s results, the large stones that were dug up now piled at the edge of the slope.

Though not completely leveled, the basic shape was taking form.

The young man had worked all afternoon and was a bit tired too.

Grandpa and Grandma couldn’t help much but cooked a meal, using vegetables and cured meat they grew at home, fried them, added water to make a meat and vegetable soup, once boiled, they added torn noodles to make a noodle stew.

The young man, being from the countryside himself, naturally didn’t mind such food.

Lu Xiaolan was also cheerful. Although she grew up in the county town, she occasionally ate countryside meals.

The three young people each took a porcelain bowl from Grandpa’s house, filled it to the brim, and squatted at the doorstep to eat.

Lu Xiaolan sipped the noodle soup and said with a smile, ”Cousin, today was really interesting, hahaha.”

Li Younan smiled but didn’t say anything, taking a sip of the noodle soup, feeling very content.

The young man eating from the excavator finished quickly, put down his bowl, and went to the toilet. After a while, he came back and sighed, ”I didn’t expect your place still uses such a pit toilet; I almost fell in just now.”

Lu Xiaolan paused for a moment, subtly frowned, and shifted to the side with her bowl.

Seeing Xiaolan’s reaction, Li Younan chuckled silently.

Although the young man was blunt, he indeed pointed out a significant issue.

Li Younan had worried about this before. Grandpa and Grandma, after all, are nearing 70 years old. Though they seem healthy now, age is still a consideration.
