Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 137: Chapter 95: Check-In at the Matchmaking Corner, Unlocking Sharpshooter [6,500 Words]

Lu Xiaolan made a wrong response: ”Auntie, there are also many clothes for middle-aged and elderly people there.”

Then came Li Younan’s correct response: ”Mom, what are you talking about? Isn’t it just the right time for you to wear young people’s clothes? You look so young!”

Lu Xiaolan stood by in a daze for a moment, her expression was a bit complex, regretting her words.

Although she knew Li Younan was just trying to make her happy, her mom was indeed very pleased, smiling with beautiful crow’s feet showing at the corners of her eyes.

She sighed and said, ”Why didn’t your dad have such a sweet mouth when he was young?”

This remark left Li Younan momentarily at a loss for words, so he changed the subject: ”I’ll park the car nearby later, and we’ll take the subway.”

His mom, realizing she had misspoken, coughed and didn’t continue the previous topic.

At this time of day, going downtown would be too congested, and there’s no place to park.

Actually, there’s not much to explore in Chengdu; it’s not nearly as fun as Chongqing.

Places like Wuhou Temple and Wide and Narrow Alleys are mostly just tourist spots with very low playability.

As for Chunxi Road, it’s just a famous commercial pedestrian street, with nothing essentially different from other such streets across the country.

The three of them arrived at Chunxi Road, and after coming out of Yinshi Square’s metro exit, they faced a crowd.

But one has to admit, there are indeed plenty of handsome men and beautiful women here.

Especially in summer, the girls are all dressed very lightly, and everywhere you look, you see long and fair beautiful legs.

Lu Xiaolan’s eyes sparkled looking at those beautiful legs — they were so dazzling, she absolutely adored those beauties.

Then she glanced at her cousin, only to find him quite composed, not sneaking peeks at the women’s figures at all.

She secretly sneered in her heart: ”Pretending to be virtuous.”

When you’re admiring the scenery, perhaps you’re also someone else’s scenery. As Li Younan walked down the street, quite a few passersby secretly glanced at him, and some live-streamers were setting up their shots nearby.

Li Younan gazed curiously at those influencers striking poses. Occasionally catching someone sneaking a look at him, he’d calmly shift his gaze, and the other party would quickly look away as if nothing happened.

Hehe.

Li Younan took his mom and Lu Xiaolan shopping for a while and bought each of them a pretty dress.

As for himself, Li Younan wasn’t interested in the trendy brands that young people like to wear.

While passing by an outdoor clothing store, he was drawn in by the jackets and fishing vests inside — especially the fishing vest with so many pockets, it seemed like it could hold the whole world.

Then, under the contemptuous and disdainful gazes of his mom and Lu Xiaolan, Li Younan resolutely bought himself a jacket and fishing vest.

Most of the time, they were just browsing and not really buying anything. Once they got tired of walking, they went straight to find a restaurant atop IFS for a meal.

Sitting in the restaurant, Li Younan had the illusion that he wasn’t in the west, but in a developed city in the east.

From an ordinary person’s perspective, Chengdu really doesn’t differ much from the ”Four Tigers” — Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. It seems like anything those places have, you can find a counterpart in Chengdu.

After lunch, in the afternoon, Li Younan originally planned to visit People’s Park, to also check off his to-do list. But before he could mention it, his mom brought it up first.

His mom took a sip of lemon water and said, ”How about we go to People’s Park in the afternoon?”

Lu Xiaolan looked puzzled: ”A park, what’s so interesting about it? We came all the way to Chengdu just to visit a park?” Her tone carried a hint of disappointment.

Before Li Younan could say anything, his mom continued to smile and explained, ”People’s Park isn’t a small park like you think; it’s very big.”

She paused, her eyes full of curiosity, ”I often see videos on Douyin where parents find blind date partners for their kids; it seems really interesting.”

She looked at Lu Xiaolan and said, ”Xiaolan, since you were little our family called you ’Ugly’, and if you can’t get married, we might have to post a ’Seriously Seeking’ introduction in People’s Park!”

Lu Xiaolan immediately cried out, ”Auntie!”

For a moment, both Li Younan and his mom laughed, and the restaurant was filled with joy.

In the end, Li Younan decided, ”Let’s go to People’s Park this afternoon.”

His mom smugly said to Lu Xiaolan, ”Xiaolan, you see, this is my son, always siding with me when it matters.”

Lu Xiaolan sighed helplessly.

This is her auntie! Auntie! Not like an elder at all, more like a kid...

But then, Lu Xiaolan secretly smiled again...

If she had a son like her cousin, maybe she would want to remain like a child forever too? Ah... what am I thinking about? A son...

Auntie is so fortunate.

...

As soon as Li Younan arrived at People’s Park, he received a check-in task from the system.

He was slightly taken aback; the task made him both laugh and cry — it was to browse information at 20 blind-date corners.

Fortunately, the system only required him to browse and didn’t demand anything more.

Just browsing was manageable.

Li Younan had come across videos of blind-date corners on short video platforms, so he found himself a bit curious.

So, let’s just take a look.

At this moment, People’s Park wasn’t exactly cool, but luckily it was cloudy with no sun; though sultry, it was tolerable.
