Chapter 128: Chapter 93: Hardcore Renovation Time: Fans Surging! [6,500 Words!]

(Bonus update... Everyone, vote! Also: for the convenience of the plot development, Anchuan County is a fictional place, please do not take it literally. If there are any similarities, it’s because I made it up! Made it up!)

Lu Xiaolan is holding a plastic bag with freshly bought tea eggs inside. She places a cracked tea egg on her forehead where she bumped it earlier.

Li Younan is driving while turning his head to glance at Lu Xiaolan, unable to hold back a laugh.

Lu Xiaolan says pitifully, ”Oh, cousin, stop laughing, you’re annoying!”

After a while, the bump on her forehead doesn’t hurt much anymore.

Lu Xiaolan takes out the phone used for livestreaming and looks at the video. As she watches, she exclaims, ”Cousin, you’re amazing! When did you learn to do flips like this, wow!”

She then flips to the video of cooking in Xiamen, watches it several times, and then looks up to ask, ”Cousin, who’s filming your videos? Is she your girlfriend? Wasn’t your ex-girlfriend in Binhai...”

Li Younan calmly says, ”Your cousin’s girlfriends are all over the country.”

Lu Xiaolan immediately pulls a disdainful face, but what she blurts out is not ”jerk!” but ”bragger!”

Compared to Li Younan, who barely looks at comments, Lu Xiaolan is much more attentive.

As the video plays, she opens the comment section and seriously checks every comment.

Aside from the recent video co-created with the Nanchang official having limited comment permissions, other videos have defamatory and malicious comments.

No matter if you’re a video creator or a web novelist, you can never satisfy everyone. There will always be some folks who pop up to criticize or maliciously defame you.

After watching for a while, Lu Xiaolan looks up angrily and says, ”Cousin, cousin, this guy is really annoying. He says your videos are all staged. And this person says you’re not doing legitimate work, setting a bad example for young people. Plus, he’s so persistent, he’s left messages under several consecutive videos.”

Li Younan casually turns the steering wheel, nodding: ”Hmm.”

”But a lot of people are scolding him in the comments.”

”Oh?”

”Really! Cousin, and this guy, in the comments of your first-person parkour video, he says the camera you used isn’t good at all. He says GoPro is better!”

Li Younan blinks, turns his head and says to Lu Xiaolan, ”Delete it.”

Lu Xiaolan is stunned: ”Huh?”

Li Younan nods: ”Delete it, and mute him.”

Lu Xiaolan replies, ”Oh.”

Overall, Li Younan’s videos are quite positive. People who pick at them for criticism or defamation are a minority, and you have to scroll for a long time to find one or two like that.

Lu Xiaolan fusses all the way, but doesn’t find much.

After going through the process, Lu Xiaolan excitedly says, ”Cousin, cousin, your followers are increasing so fast! I just watched a video and there are hundreds more followers.”

”Cousin, cousin, quick, there are several new private messages. Cousin, cousin...”

Li Younan rests one hand on the window edge, smiling helplessly: ”You sure have energy.”

Lu Xiaolan shyly sticks out her tongue: ”I’m working, cousin!”

Lu Xiaolan finally quiets down for a while, but she’s already excited about the work to come.

When Li Younan and Lu Xiaolan arrive at their grandparents’ house, it’s still early.

The guy driving the excavator hasn’t shown up yet, so Li Younan makes several calls to urge the construction material suppliers for the first batch of materials needed.

Sand, cement, and the like don’t need to be bought from elsewhere; getting them locally is fine.

As expected, Brother Long pulled another all-nighter and sent over the edited video before morning.

This video is the first episode of a series, roughly telling the story of Li Younan wanting to renovate the old house.

The video shows in detail the initial appearance of Grandpa’s old house, the surrounding environment, the dilapidated building, the kitchen in the main room, and the daunting outdoor dry toilet, among other things...

The video was just released, and it received numerous comments and private messages.

At this moment, Li Younan is inspecting the slope, silently calculating how much cement is needed. Once the whole area is leveled, he’ll have to bring in more sod or black soil to create a garden, and a man-made small waterfall...

His gaze rests on two large slabs dug out by the excavator yesterday. These large slabs are several tens of centimeters thick, with an area of one or two square meters. With a bit of cutting, grinding, and polishing, they can be made into a large stone table.

Nearby, Lu Xiaolan holds a phone, reading to Li Younan: ”Cousin, the video you posted this morning already has hundreds of likes! So quick, and someone commented, cousin, let me read the comment to you!”

Li Younan casually nods while his gaze continues sweeping over the slope: ”Hmm.”

”This comment says, Wow! The streamer is about to start renovating the old house, exciting.”

”Also, also... Wasn’t it supposed to be a travel blogger? How come it’s changing tracks?”

”The video says the streamer wants to renovate themselves, that’s unlikely. It’s better to hire some workers for renovating an old house; water, electricity, masonry, it’s all very complicated!”

Lu Xiaolan suddenly furrows her brows and says, ”Cousin, hmm, should I delete this comment? Let me read it to you: It says, ’The streamer seems like a naïve young person. If you spent money to renovate the old house, I’d believe it, but daring to say you’re doing it yourself is purely for show, completely unaware of how complicated renovation can be! Just waiting for the streamer to mess up!’”
