Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1650: Chapter 817: Reversal (9000-Word Update!) (Part 2)

Nakajima Hoto: ”I really admire you all. During this period, no matter what happened, you’ve made choices that many others couldn’t.”

Zhou Yun: ”Maybe it’s because our Chinese entertainment industry is already quite large and the market is big too. All these things we’re experiencing now, we’ve basically been through them domestically. There’s nothing to be afraid of once you understand it all clearly.”

The quick concession by magazine made more people realize one thing: whether it’s Zhou Yun or Song Chi, the energy these two possess is far beyond what people initially perceived or saw.

In Hollywood, a superstar often wields great power, which is a game rule accumulated over the years. However, such a pattern hasn’t formed in China and Japan.

Stars and artists starting to set up on their own, standing on their own feet, handling things independently, is something that has only happened in recent years. Before, they survived by relying on major agencies or film companies. Without the continuous resource flow from big companies, even the most popular stars and artists would fade away.

Both Zhou Yun and Song Chi have unknowingly accumulated their power.

Those daring to challenge them have become fewer and fewer.

Liu Yun walked over with a water bottle in her hand.

”This is freshly squeezed juice,” she said.

”Thank you.” Zhou Yun thanked Liu Yun, taking it and sipping a bit.

Liu Yun said, ”Sister Xiao Yun, Sister Lan arranged for a girl to come over here, saying she’ll follow me to learn for a few months.”

Zhou Yun was a bit surprised, ”Really?”

”Yes.” Liu Yun nodded, ”She’ll arrive tomorrow.”

Zhou Yun suddenly thought of Zheng Xiaojue.

Back then, Liu Yun was also sent over like this and became Zheng Xiaojue’s successor.

Unexpectedly, now Liu Yun also has to train her own successor?

Zhou Yun didn’t know Zhou Lan’s plans. Is she planning to move Liu Yun to another position?

However, Liu Yun has been by her side for so long, she should indeed transition from the assistant role to another position.

Zhou Yun asked Liu Yun, ”Xiao Yun, do you have any thoughts of your own? If you stop being an assistant, what would you like to do?”

Liu Yun shook her head and said, ”No, I don’t want to change positions. I just want to continue doing this work, it’s good as it is.”

These words had previously also been said by Zheng Xiaojue.

Unlike Zheng Xiaojue, Liu Yun’s personality is quieter, and she keeps everything to herself, rarely speaking out.

Zhou Yun still hopes Liu Yun can do something she truly wants to do.

”But you can’t be my assistant for your whole life, can you?” Zhou Yun asked with a smile.

Liu Yun, however, straightforwardly asked, ”Why not?”

Zhou Yun was taken aback.

She didn’t know what to say for a moment.

”Well, Xiaoyun, don’t you want to develop further in your career?”

”No,” Liu Yun said very earnestly, ”This is all I know how to do. If I have to do something else, I can’t do it.”

Zhou Yun said, ”But you can learn to do other things, right? Haven’t you learned a lot of new things by being my assistant?”

Liu Yun said, ”Sister Xiao Yun, I really don’t want to change jobs.”

Her stubbornness left Zhou Yun at a loss for words.

In the evening, Zhou Yun made a phone call to Zhou Lan, discussing Liu Yun’s situation.

Zhou Lan also sighed and said, ”I’ve talked to her about it. She insists on continuing to be your assistant. I think transferring her to another position should be mutually agreeable. You can’t force these things, so for now, I don’t plan to change her role.”

”Really? Then why did you still arrange for someone to come over to learn with her?”

”Oh, right,” Zhou Lan said, ”Yuk Chu and Wang Jing also need an agent more focused on them. Right now, I’m still handling their work, but it’s too much. This girl I recruited was a director at a TV station before; she’s hardworking and ambitious. I want to place her by your side for some experience, then I’ll personally guide her.”

Zhou Yun understood Zhou Lan’s intention.

”I see.”

”Yes,” Zhou Lan said, ”Xiao Jing is relatively simpler, not as complicated. Yuk Chu’s situation is somewhat stagnant. I need to spend more effort. Her acting isn’t exceptional, but the drama has gained a lot of international popularity, and she has received quite a few overseas offers. She is not picky about roles; she told me clearly she wants to make money, be it films or ads, she accepts them all. In this state, she needs a more focused agent to clarify her work and manage her business relationships.”
