Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1648: Chapter 816: Dawn Breaks After the Clouds

Zhou Yun was at a loss whether to laugh or cry when she heard Hugh Redman’s description.

The color of Asians’ pupils is not quite the same as those of Europeans and Americans; they are black.

And Zhou Yun and Nakajima Hoto both have even darker pupil colors than typical Asians, so they are often told their eyes are particularly bright and deep.

This visual difference adds an air of mystery from the perspective of Europeans and Americans.

Tim Lang had told Zhou Yun the same thing.

Cos heard Hugh Redman praising Zhou Yun and Nakajima Hoto’s eyes and immediately raised her face to ask, ”So, are my eyes not mysterious?”

Hugh Redman seemed momentarily unsure of what to say and laughed.

He said, ”They are.”

Cos nodded contentedly.

After dinner, the four of them parted ways.

Hugh Redman was going to stroll nearby with Cos, while Zhou Yun and Nakajima Hoto headed straight back to their hotel.

Nakajima Hoto said, ”Hugh’s girlfriend is truly a cute girl.”

Zhou Yun wasn’t sure if Nakajima Hoto was speaking sincerely or just casually, but she didn’t find Cos particularly cute.

Zhou Yun told Nakajima Hoto, ”You’re the cutest.”

Nakajima Hoto’s eyes suddenly widened like a rabbit’s, round, and she said, ”Why the sudden compliment?”

Zhou Yun smiled and said, ”Suddenly just felt like it.”

Nakajima Hoto’s cheeks turned red.

Quite shy.

Throughout these days of interaction, Zhou Yun had grown fond of Nakajima Hoto.

She is both a hard-working and intelligent actress. Working with her is enjoyable. Unlike those times when partnering with some stubborn actors, who never complain but stick rigidly to their acting methods, refusing to adjust no matter what.

Nakajima Hoto is also someone willing to adjust her performance rhythm and style to cooperate with everyone.

The two returned to the hotel, each going to their own rooms.

Two days later, ”Variety” released the video of Zhou Yun’s conversation with Sedar.

After editing, their conversation was much more concise, removing a lot of content but also making the topic clearer.

The conversation between Zhou Yun and Sedar was reposted by media worldwide.

With official authorization and without, the range of dissemination was very wide.

Especially in China, because it featured Zhou Yun and Wu Chengbao had created such hype, many were curious about the conversation video.

Among them, Zhou Yun’s views on commercial films and her approach to selecting projects were circulated by many film bloggers and influencers.

However, abroad, what caught headlines was not this but the mention of Hugh Redman’s incident in the concluding part, sparking a lot of discussion.

Previously, mainstream media had generally criticized Hugh Redman’s incident, labeling it as violent.

Yet Zhou Yun and Sedar, in such a highly exposed event, directly spoke up for Hugh Redman, letting many know the truth about the incident for the first time—yes, although the matter had widespread recognition, Hugh Redman retaliated only after someone else took the first swing, and this was now widely realized, which is crucial since initiating versus retaliating has a fundamentally different distinction.

The public perception of Hugh Redman’s incident quietly shifted.

Hugh Redman, upon seeing the video, showed an expression of surprise.

After Zhou Yun returned from this event, she had never mentioned to him that they discussed his issue.

This incident had persisted for so long, but aside from Zhou Yun and Nakajima Hoto, no other celebrity artist had spoken on his behalf on a public platform.

It was already the third time for Zhou Yun.

From a statement on Twitter, a clash with haters on Instagram, to this occasion.

Hugh Redman was momentarily at a loss for words to describe his feelings—the term ’moved’ might not do justice.

There was also a hint of bitterness.

After the incident, Hugh Redman’s emotions and state were quite affected, not from being criticized by many but more from feeling let down by the attitudes of people around him.

Including the stance of the management company and agents, even though they supported him in some form, their reactions essentially conveyed that his actions were wrong, poorly handled.

He himself began to wonder if his counteraction was a mistake.

Only Zhou Yun repeatedly insisted that he wasn’t wrong, that his act was just and appropriate.

Zhou Yun stood firmly by his side, persistently emphasizing to everyone that Hugh Redman was brave and just.

This support kept Hugh Redman from completely doubting himself.

After ”Variety” released the video, Hugh Redman, surprisingly, found many people in his comment section apologizing, saying they had wronged him.

Hugh Redman’s emotions grew even more complex at this moment.

Zhou Yun walked out of the resting room and onto the film set, suddenly noticing that the way people looked at her was different from usual.

Even a man in his fifties, responsible for laying tracks, gave her a thumbs-up, saying, ”Zhou, well done!”

Zhou Yun was perplexed, having no idea what was going on.

At that moment, Hugh Redman suddenly spotted her and hastily walked over, embracing Zhou Yun tightly without a word.

Zhou Yun widened her eyes in surprise.

”Wow,” she asked, ”What’s going on? What’s happened?”

More surprising was that a cameraman was filming them with his camera.

Of course, this was quite normal; there’s always someone shooting with phones or cameras on set.

Hugh Redman said, ”Thank you, Xiao Yun, thank you for clearing things up during your talk with Sedar and standing by me. Thanks.”

Zhou Yun chuckled.

”Actually, Sedar was the one who brought it up first; I wasn’t planning to because I felt the topic didn’t align with our theme for that day. You should thank her; she mentioned it, giving me the chance to explain the whole situation.”

Hugh Redman shook his head, saying, ”I know how much you’ve done.”

Zhou Yun’s actions earned her admiration from many—perhaps not everyone in this world possesses the courage and ability to raise the torch, but most normal, justice-minded people, who can discern right from wrong, support those who do. They know what is correct and should be supported.

Zhou Yun’s bravery, disregard for public opinion, perseverance, and support for friends earned her the respect of the ”Killing Song” crew.

The crowd cheered and applauded, capturing the moment when Hugh Redman, moved by the flood of apologies, had slightly reddened eyes.

There is an old Chinese saying: the clouds will clear and one will see the moon.

Zhou Yun thought it fit perfectly at this moment for Hugh Redman.

Fourth update! Hard-working as I am, don’t I deserve a bit of your encouragement? Haha!
