Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1601: Chapter 805: Between Each Other

The shooting of the first scene gave Zhou Yun a huge shock.

This was her first time participating in a Hollywood film shoot, and in this set she had a major impression that everyone knew exactly what they were supposed to do, and each role was methodically handling their work.

During rehearsals, Tim Lang often called for a halt and came over to explain to everyone what needed to be done.

Sometimes, when Zhou Yun stumbled over her words, Tim Lang would half-jokingly say, ”Oh, everyone, please understand, English isn’t Zhou Yun’s mother tongue, it’s perfectly normal for her to make one or two mistakes. Let’s not be too harsh on our leading lady.”

Tim Lang meant well, trying to get Zhou Yun to relax, but Zhou Yun still felt a little embarrassed hearing those words, her face burning.

She considered herself a good actress, yet she still made such basic mistakes—actually, it’s not that basic mistakes can’t be made, it’s just that in such an unfamiliar environment, any small mistake seems to become an excuse for others to view you with tinted glasses.

Zhou Yun is the leading lady, and more than that, she’s the film’s biggest star.

No other role has as much screen time as hers.

Zhou Yun had to admit that being the absolute star gave her a certain pressure.

It’s a foreign crew, not an environment she’s familiar with. She had to first showcase her abilities comprehensively, rather than make some small mistakes—interaction between actors is crucial, whether they trust you, and how they react to your performance, all vary from person to person.

The first scene took a whole day to shoot.

Afterwards, Hugh Redman gathered everyone to go out for a meal.

Zhou Yun declined, went back to the hotel, and plunged into the script, reviewing her lines and those of others.

Zhou Yun’s English was quite good, with no issues in daily communication.

But indeed... when delivering English lines, she often stumbled, not because she wasn’t familiar with the script, but because in her acting, each scene had fresh improvisation, and English wasn’t as ingrained as Chinese, sometimes the intonation of a word veered in an unexpected direction, leaving her unsure of what to say next.

Zhou Yun could choose to perform each scene rigidly according to her design, but she didn’t want to act like that, it was too stiff, devoid of improvisational charm—this is precisely the biggest vitality of Zhou Yun’s performance.

So, Zhou Yun had to familiarize herself with the lines even more, make the lines a complete memory in her mind, a memory of her tongue, fully internalized into her performance.

Liu Yun was brought over by Zhou Yun to rehearse lines.

Zhou Yun initially thought Liu Yun’s English would be staggered, but to her surprise, Liu Yun’s English had made significant progress.

Zhou Yun rehearsed lines with Liu Yun, going until ten p.m. before finishing.

Next morning, work started at nine.

Zhou Yun naturally woke up at around six, went out for a morning run, then had breakfast at the hotel.

After breakfast, it was only a little past seven.

She didn’t want to head to the set too early, arriving too early was also a burden for others.

So, she returned to her room, continued reading the script, purely reading.

Constantly rehearsing her pronunciation.

This training was very inelegant, but under current circumstances, she found only this method to refine her pronunciation.

That day’s shooting was much better.

Zhou Yun didn’t stumble over her words again.

The shoot today was primarily her solo scenes.

In the movie, it was the very beginning of the plot.

Mainly introducing some key information about her character.

There was a crying scene.

Now, Tim Lang explained this scene to her, saying, ”Xiao Yun, in this scene, you need to show a kind of crying without realizing you’re crying, in your subjective awareness, you aren’t aware you’re tearing up, when you notice tears, your first reaction is to wipe them away, do you understand what I mean?”

Zhou Yun nodded.

”Okay, I understand.”

So in this scene, Zhou Yun sat in a café setup, surrounded by many background actors who, whether they were in the shot or not, were earnestly portraying their roles.

Especially Zhou Yun noticed a pair of young couple, sitting in a corner, with no light on them, yet they seriously improvised a flirtation scene for themselves.
