Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1647: Chapter 815: Dinner Table Conversation (Third Update)

Nakajima Hoto told Hugh Redman about the reason for the quarrel between the two and the matter concerning Cliff Stewart.

Talking about the things happening in the crew indeed relaxed Nakajima Hoto significantly, and he became more lively.

Upon hearing the name Cliff Stewart, Cos said in surprise, ”Is he pursuing that Korean actress?”

”Lew Xi said so, and judging by Lily Cruise’s reaction, it should be true.” Nakajima Hoto smiled slightly, scratched his head somewhat helplessly, and continued, ”With such a thing happening, what should they do afterward? The atmosphere during filming will certainly become awkward.”

Hugh Redman said, ”You don’t have to worry about this, no matter what, they will still prioritize filming and won’t let any personal grievances affect the shooting.”

”Yeah, this isn’t something we need to worry about. Nakajima, Tim and the others are here.” Zhou Yun said.

Cos said, ”I’m still quite surprised, Cliff is actually pursuing that Korean actress?”

”What’s wrong?” Hugh Redman asked.

Cos: ”I thought a celebrity like Cliff wouldn’t take the initiative to pursue a girl.”

”How could it be?” Hugh Redman laughed, ”He’s also a man.”

Cos suddenly thought of something and said, ”Oh, Xiao Yun, I just happen to have something I want to ask you. I received an invitation from a film company in your country for a role called Jia Chi. Do you know it?”

Zhou Yun was taken aback and said in surprise, ”I know. It’s a company my partner started.”

”Your partner?” Cos showed an even more surprised expression, seemingly not expecting such a coincidence.

Zhou Yun nodded and said, ”My husband, Song Chi, is also an actor. I don’t know if you know him.”

Cos shook her head and said, ”My agent told me about it, also said this movie has Sedar joining.”

Zhou Yun suddenly realized and said, ”Oh, it’s that movie. Yes, he and Sedar are to collaborate on a movie.”

Cos curiously asked, ”But I’ve never heard of this film company. Is it a big company in China?”

”It hasn’t been established for many years, but it’s doing quite well. The TV and film it produced in recent years have achieved good success.” Zhou Yun said.

Cos said, ”Will you act in this movie?”

Zhou Yun was somewhat surprised and said, ”Me? I don’t know. He hasn’t invited me, and I don’t really know much about this movie.”

Cos asked in surprise, ”Huh? Your husband’s movie didn’t invite you?”

Zhou Yun smiled in understanding and explained, ”Our work is separate. It’s not together. I’ve actually never acted in any visual productions made by his company.”

Cos showed disbelief.

”Wow.”

Hugh Redman explained, ”Zhou Yun and Song Chi are both top-tier actors in China. Many companies are waiting for their schedules. You may not know Song Chi, but I heard that many Hollywood companies invited him for films before, but he refused due to not having time.”

Cos was quite shocked.

”Alright.”

Nakajima Hoto immediately followed, ”Yes, Song Chi and Zhou Yun are also very popular in Japan. You can see ads of them on streets.”

They have many brand endorsements, some even as global spokespeople, with ads set up worldwide.

Especially in Asian countries.

Comparatively, Song Chi might be even more well-known in Japan.

Almost all his movies are shown in Japan, accumulating fans that Zhou Yun can’t compare with.

Cos is an American, and like many American actors, she isn’t very familiar with the film industry outside of Europe and America, especially overseas.

At this moment, Cos realized how impressive the Chinese actress sitting in front of her was.

Earlier, Cos was deliberating whether to take the Chinese film project. Although Sedar stars in it, participating in such a film might not progress her career. Cos, being new in the industry, was full of ambition and hope.

Zhou Yun noticed the hesitation in Cos’s heart.

She thought that since Song Chi’s company noticed her and extended an invitation, she should assist in persuading her a bit.

”The film starring Song Chi and Sedar will surely receive a lot of attention in China. If you act in it, the Chinese audience could get to know you.” Zhou Yun said, ”It’d be quite good. Chinese audiences usually recognize foreign actors via international films. If they could see someone like you in a domestic film, they’ll have a more cordial feeling.”

The large number of Chinese audiences is something no global actor should ignore.

Cos nodded.

Nakajima Hoto didn’t know that Zhou Yun’s husband, Song Chi, started a film company—since many famous actors starting their own production companies is quite normal and common—but truly independently producing a movie, and still being able to invite someone like Sedar, clearly indicates that this film company is not merely dabbling.

She proactively told Zhou Yun, ”Xiao Yun, if there are any suitable roles for me in the future, make sure to consider me first.”

Nakajima Hoto being this proactive in selling herself was unexpected for Zhou Yun.

After all, Nakajima Hoto, as a popular actress in Japan, unlike Cos being new, doesn’t need a plethora of job opportunities to increase her fame.

Of course, Nakajima Hoto might have been just caught in the topic, thus instinctively recommending herself.

Zhou Yun smiled and nodded, ”Of course, for you and for Hugh, I found quite a few good actors here in ’Killing Song.’ If there are suitable and good roles, I would surely recommend them to you. Actually, this time experiencing filming abroad was quite invigorating, very fresh. I’ve never cooperated with this many foreign actors before.”

Hugh Redman said, ”In Hollywood, this is quite common, but... well, you’re right. The roles for Asian actors generally don’t have this much screen time. I’ve rarely had so many scenes alongside Asian actors.”

Zhou Yun smiled.

”We still have two more ’Killing Song’ films to shoot. You have plenty of time to feel the differences between our Asian actors’ performance styles and your European and American actors.”

Hugh Redman nodded and seriously said, ”Indeed it’s different, offering me a unique experience. Made me tone down in acting a bit. I used to be more used to intense, passionate emotional expressions. Especially when acting with you all on set, your eyes seem like deep wells, always carrying mystery.”
