Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1612: Chapter 807: New Beginnings 2

Actually, his emotions were not directed at Zhou Yun and Nakajima Hoto. Zhou Yun and Nakajima Hoto were very clear about this.

Zhou Yun and Nakajima Hoto ordered for themselves and asked Hugh Redman what he wanted to eat.

Hugh Redman said: ”A ham burger, a plate of scrambled eggs, a glass of beer.”

This was a small diner near the hotel, not a fancy restaurant. The seating was quite cramped, but because everyone was talking, the noisy environment actually made people feel comfortable speaking here.

Zhou Yun said: ”Hugh, what did your company say? What are they planning to do?”

Hugh Redman shook his head, ”They’ve already contacted some media to respond to the matter, but none can compare with those few media outlets constantly attacking me. I can only endure it and wait for it to naturally cool down.”

Nakajima Hoto couldn’t help but frown.

”How can this be okay? Are we just going to leave it like this?”

Hugh Redman shook his head, ”I don’t know, no one knows.”

Zhou Yun felt that Hugh Redman’s mood was a bit too low.

It was unlike the reaction of someone who simply encountered unfairness.

She also thought the situation was a bit strange. The matter regarding Hugh Redman was actually very straightforward. Why did those few media outlets have such hostility towards Hugh Redman, as if they wanted to beat him down, keeping him down?

Could someone have targeted Hugh Redman out of dislike and acted behind the scenes? But that doesn’t seem right either. Hugh Redman is a young actor, who could dislike him so much and want to deal with him this way?

Zhou Yun felt she might be overthinking it.

It shouldn’t be like this.

”If there isn’t a way to turn the tide regarding this matter in the short term, then it’s best not to respond at all and focus on filming the movie.” Zhou Yun said, ”However, there will definitely be an opportunity to respond and clarify this matter. Hugh, when ’Killing Song’ premieres, a lot of media will for sure bring this up. You have to understand, you’re not facing this alone; Nakajima Hoto and I are right by your side.”

Hugh Redman sighed softly, ”Xiao Yun, Hoto, I really appreciate your good intentions, but this matter... let’s talk about it later.”

His hesitating appearance caused that bad guess from before to resurface in Zhou Yun’s mind.

”I know you’re not feeling great, but we still need to ensure this film is well-made, right?” Zhou Yun said, ”For us actors, nothing is more important than making sure the film is well-shot. These unpleasant noises, once you bring out a surprising character, will all vanish.”

Hugh Redman asked: ”Xiao Yun, have you experienced those darkest times in China when everyone was attacking you?”

”I have.” Zhou Yun nodded, ”So I completely understand how you’re feeling right now.”

Hugh Redman asked: ”What was your mood at the time?”

Zhou Yun said: ”Just like you, feeling very upset, very uncomfortable, but I just pushed through it.”

Hugh Redman said: ”This thing really makes me furious.”

Nakajima Hoto nodded seriously, ”I’m sorry, if it wasn’t for protecting us, you wouldn’t be facing this. But unfortunately, not many people see our words.”

Hugh Redman shook his head and said, ”This has nothing to do with you; anyone would do the same.”

Zhou Yun: ”Hugh, in this matter, Nakajima Hoto and I are truly grateful to you. This isn’t about anyone else doing the same; you’re feeling furious, and I don’t know what I can do to help you, but I will try my best to tell everyone the truth, and I am very grateful to you.”

If Hugh Redman hadn’t stepped in at the time, Zhou Yun didn’t think she would have suffered any disadvantage with that drunken man pestering her. She had a bodyguard present; she also had a bit of Kung Fu skills, so she wouldn’t have been harmed. However, Hugh Redman stepped up to protect the two girls right then, which moved her, and his action gave her a better impression of him.

The three of them had dinner together before returning to the hotel.

The filming continued afterward.

Zhou Yun’s filming schedule quickly stopped being like the initial three days where there were shoots from morning till night. Sometimes, there was only one scene to film in a day, and after four hours or so of shooting, she would be done for the day.

The setup of the crew was like this, and Zhou Yun was happy to go out exploring nearby with Liu Yun when there was no filming.

The online discussions about Hugh Redman also gradually quieted down.

Hugh Redman slowly returned to his previously enthusiastic demeanor.

But they no longer organized outings to bars.

The seventh day of filming was set to shoot a scene with Zhou Yun and Hugh Redman.

In the scene, she had to participate in a life-and-death chase with Hugh Redman, involving a lot of running.

The chase scene was shot entirely against a green screen, with no real set, relying entirely on the actors’ imagination.

After putting on her gear, Zhou Yun followed the route planned in advance by the director and others.

Not only were there running, but there were also maneuvers like dodging and jumping.

Tim Lang initially wanted to try shooting a long take, but found onsite that the difficulty was too great.

The shooting location couldn’t accommodate such a long action track line and could only be divided into multiple takes.

Zhou Yun watched Hugh Redman shoot first from the sidelines.

As it turned out, Hugh Redman was also not quite used to shooting entirely without a real set; his state was affected, and he couldn’t fully immerse himself.

Tim Lang understood them very well, patiently stopping to explain the scene to him, telling him what the situation was.

Fortunately, there was a screen onsite, which could render a rough movie picture in real-time to show them, allowing them to understand roughly what the film would look like.
