Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1616: Chapter 808: Berlin Film Festival Schedule (13,000 Words Update)_4

Basically, it was the kind of role where whoever played it would become a hit.

Zhou Yun was acting with the young girl, and she couldn’t help being drawn in by those eyes of hers—too beautiful, blue as jade, clear like a lake.

She even spaced out once in the middle.

Tim Lang was puzzled and asked, ”What’s wrong?”

Zhou Yun said, ”Lucy’s eyes are too beautiful, I fell into them.”

Tim Lang was stunned; he absolutely hadn’t expected that to be the reason.

Even Lucy Draco broke into a shy smile.

Zhou Yun really enjoyed this scene.

Once the shoot wrapped, Lucy Draco finished all her scenes in this film.

Tim Lang gave her a little gift and said, ”See you in part two, my little Princess.”

Lucy Draco took a photo with Tim Lang and Zhou Yun, playfully flashing a peace sign.

After she left, Zhou Yun still had quite a few solo shots to make up.

Nakajima Hoto arrived as well at three in the afternoon.

She also had a shot in this scene.

When Zhou Yun leaves the café, there will be a close-up of Nakajima Hoto watching her.

Then the drunk man who’d just been beaten up by Zhou Yun notices Nakajima Hoto, goes over to hit on her, and gets slapped flat onto the ground by Nakajima Hoto again.

This was Tim Lang’s design.

Neither the original novel nor the script had this bit.

Tim Lang added it partly because he wanted the man getting hit twice to create a sense of cathartic fun, and partly to highlight a trait, leaving the audience with a clear impression: these women entering the Battle Royale are not to be messed with.

The reason he wanted to do this was that, in people’s traditional mindset, in this kind of life-or-death game, women are at a natural disadvantage in terms of stamina and physical strength. Tim Lang didn’t want everyone to go into the Battle Royale game with an obvious bias right from the start—thinking these women can’t possibly beat those men.

Tim Lang wanted to establish from the outset a kind of balance where ”no one knows whose blood will end up on whose hands.”

Zhou Yun liked this bit of Tim Lang’s design.

Nakajima Hoto liked it too.

The only one who didn’t was the big Celebrity Tim Lang had invited for a cameo as the drunk man, George Hardy.

George Hardy said helplessly, ”If I’d known I was coming here just to get beaten up, I wouldn’t have come.”

George Hardy was a good friend of Tim Lang’s; the two had worked together for many years. This time Tim Lang asked George Hardy to do a cameo because he wanted to make the film’s cast a little more dazzling.

Tim Lang said, ”George, only if you play this kind of guy—getting thrashed by two beautiful women—will the audience laugh themselves silly.”

George Hardy was even more speechless.

Tim Lang introduced Zhou Yun and Nakajima Hoto to George Hardy.

”Hey, beautiful girls!” George Hardy joked. ”You really don’t hold back, do you?”

Nakajima Hoto apologized nervously and said, ”I’m sorry.”

George Hardy looked at her in surprise. ”Oh, don’t be so serious, I was joking.”

Zhou Yun had seen many of George Hardy’s films; he was known on the big screen as a playboy, often playing those womanizing, sly types of men.

Although his on-screen image wasn’t exactly noble and upright, his personal reputation was very good—there had never been any scandals.

And George Hardy was a very humorous man. He didn’t take the fact that he was a Celebrity seriously at all; you’d often see news about him ”making a fool of himself” at some event or getting drunk with friends and passing out on the roadside.

Zhou Yun had seen lots of news like that—even someone like her, who didn’t really follow gossip, had come across plenty, which shows just how carefree he was in that regard.

But Zhou Yun really liked him.

Because he was someone who only made trouble for himself, never for others.

When George Hardy said goodbye to Zhou Yun, he said, ”Darling, I didn’t come to do this cameo for that old man Tim—I came for you. I’m a huge fan of yours, you know that? I’ve basically seen all your films.”

Zhou Yun was stunned.

”Wow, seriously?” Zhou Yun said. ”Weren’t only Life and Behind the Scenes released in the United States?”

George Hardy was American.

He said, ”I’ve seen Two Tigers, Four Killers, and Warm Little Horse—I caught them in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and the United States, respectively.”

Zhou Yun stared at George Hardy in shock.
