Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1615: Chapter 808: Berlin Film Festival Scheduling (13,000-Word Update)

No one had expected something like this to happen, and no one wanted to see it.

But Zhou Yun had no intention of staying out of it. Hugh Redman had gotten into that conflict with the man because he was protecting them. The first people to clash with that man had been her and Nakajima Hoto.

Zhou Yun thought, if in the end a lot of people really started accusing Hugh Redman of using violence, then she had to step out and make the situation clear.

So she told Zhou Lan the ins and outs of the whole incident, and let her know in advance that she’d need Zhou Lan’s side to coordinate on PR when the time came. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

Unusually, Zhou Lan didn’t stop her—normally in matters like this, Zhou Lan always told Zhou Yun not to get involved, to stay on the sidelines if she could; keeping her head down was the safest way.

On the third day of shooting, according to the original schedule, there was actually no scene for Hugh Redman, but the other actors would be in Unit B shooting some transitional footage with the assistant director.

Zhou Yun saw Tim Lang on set.

Tim Lang asked, ”Xiao Yun, have you heard about what happened to Hugh Redman?”

Zhou Yun said, ”Tim, I was right there on set last night when Hugh Redman got into trouble.”

”Oh.” Tim Lang nodded and said, ”So you were there. What exactly happened with Hugh?”

As the male character with the heaviest screen time in this film, everything he did affected the movie.

Zhou Yun then laid out the whole course of events in detail for Tim Lang.

”Oh, so he was helping you teach that punk a lesson.” Tim Lang said, ”If that’s the case, why are you worried that guy might blow it up? This really doesn’t count as Hugh’s fault.”

”Exactly. If Hugh hadn’t stepped in to protect me and Nakajima Hoto, we would’ve been bullied by that man.” Zhou Yun stressed. ”Hugh’s face is injured and he may need a few days to recover. If that affects the shooting schedule, you can move my scenes forward. I’ll fully cooperate.”

Tim Lang waved his hand and said, ”Judging from his injuries, it’ll take ten days to half a month for him to heal completely. We’ve decided we might as well change the script.”

”Huh?” Zhou Yun asked in surprise, ”How are you changing it?”

”Once his face heals up a bit, we’ll add a scene: the first time he meets you in the lobby, he mouths off and flirts with you, and you sock him right in the face.” Tim Lang said. ”That way, when he has injuries on his face later, it won’t break the illusion.”

”Oh.” Zhou Yun was stunned. ”Really? Then won’t he have to appear like this for the whole movie?”

Tim Lang nodded. ”There’s no other way. We can’t afford to wait that long.”

Zhou Yun felt a bit helpless, but from a filming standpoint, this really was the only adjustment they could make.

The scenes scheduled for today were fairly concentrated—it was still the café sequence.

The little girl who got bullied was named Lucy Draco. She was very delicate-looking; you could easily imagine how pretty she’d be in a few years.

Such a pretty little girl, and her acting was very affecting; she didn’t feel like a young, inexperienced actor at all.

Zhou Yun once again marveled at Hollywood’s ability to regenerate itself.

Just grab any actor at random and their basic acting skills were almost always up to par.

She talked to many people and learned that in their own communities and schools, they all had drama clubs.

They already had a lot of chances to act while they were still in school—not just the kind of performance you do at a school showcase.

Sometimes, on weekends, they would write their own plays and perform them for their classmates or people in the neighborhood.

Zhou Yun realized that their ability to keep sending out so many actors, one after another, had a lot to do with that environment and soil.

She and Lucy Draco only had this one scene opposite each other.

Lucy Draco is bullied; Zhou Yun steps up and protects Lucy Draco. Because she intervenes this time, the people behind Lucy Draco come to believe she’s deeply connected to this mysterious girl with an unknown background, so they set up a trap and send her into the Battle Royale game.

In fact, Lucy Draco will have very important scenes in the sequel.

This was laid out very clearly in the original novel.

In the first film, she’s only the trigger that sends Zhou Yun into the Battle Royale game, so her screen time is minimal.

In fact, among many fans of the original work, the role played by Lucy Draco is extremely popular.
