Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1617: Chapter 808: Berlin Film Festival Reservation (13,000-Word Update)

She really didn’t expect that George Hardy had even seen ”Warm Little Horse.”

Many foreign movie fans don’t know about this film.

”I’m your loyal fan. We must collaborate to star in a movie together someday, promise me, okay?” George Hardy suddenly looked at Zhou Yun with heartfelt sincerity and asked.

Zhou Yun was taken aback by his sudden question.

George Hardy then burst into laughter.

”I know you have someone special already, okay, I won’t joke about it. I’m serious, we should find a good script together for a collaboration, how does that sound?” he said.

Zhou Yun nodded, ”Sure, that sounds great.”

”I’ve always wanted to film a movie in China,” George Hardy said, ”I’ve been to China three times, but I’ve never shot a film there.”

Zhou Yun: ”If you want to film in China, I’ll recommend suitable roles to you in the future.”

”It’s settled then,” George Hardy said.

”Alright.”

Watching George Hardy leave, Zhou Yun turned around, ready to ask Tim Lang what’s next for filming, only to catch Nakajima Hoto looking at her with a hint of envy.

After she turned around, Nakajima Hoto withdrew her gaze.

Tim Lang said, ”That guy George has been wanting to meet you for ages, he came to find me as soon as he knew I was directing ’Killing Song.’”

...

China.

Zhou Lan confirmed the content of the statement with the PR team, checked that everything was correct, then sent it to Zhou Yun’s email, reminding her to check it.

After sending the message, she checked the time and realized it was already the end of the workday.

Although her job doesn’t really have specific working hours—there’s someone else who does.

Zhou Lan put on her coat, touched up her lipstick, and sure enough, Lin Zhiping’s message arrived on time: I’m already in the parking lot under your office.

Zhou Lan replied: OK, coming down soon.

She grabbed her bag and walked out of her office.

”I’m leaving. You guys should go home early and rest too,” Zhou Lan said to her colleagues still at their desks.

She walked downstairs with a spring in her step, smiling as she entered the parking lot, spotting Lin Zhiping’s car immediately.

He sat in the car, looking at a tablet, expressionless, seemingly handling work.

Zhou Lan paused, gazing at Lin Zhiping from meters away. How to put it? Zhou Lan found herself easily drawn to focused men; the moment when Lin Zhiping was deeply concentrated on something was what most captivated her.

Suddenly, as if sensing something, Lin Zhiping lifted his head, meeting Zhou Lan’s eyes.

Zhou Lan immediately wore a smile, walking over to the passenger seat and sitting down.

”Hi!”

Lin Zhiping said, ”Did work go well today? You’re smiling so much.”

”Yes,” Zhou Lan nodded, ”Indeed, it went very smoothly.”

Lin Zhiping: ”After dinner tonight, how about we go see a movie together?”

Zhou Lan nodded: ”Sounds good.”

”Okay, then you pick what you want to watch.” Lin Zhiping started the car and drove out of the parking lot.

Zhou Lan immediately opened an online ticket platform, checking the movies currently showing.

”Oh, Ning Yao’s movie ’Treasure’ was released last Friday, I didn’t notice. Interested?” Zhou Lan asked, ”She plays a woman who works at a gambling venue in Xiamen, though this seems to be a romance film.”

Lin Zhiping said, ”Sure, I’m up for anything.”

Zhou Lan: ”Okay, let’s book this one, the show at eight-thirty tonight, alright?”

”Alright.”

”Treasure” is a lighthearted romantic comedy that has been out for about a week but its box office performance is quite average, barely surpassing sixty million so far.

For an actress of Ning Yao’s caliber, this box office result is a bit underwhelming, considered a flop. That’s also why Zhou Lan hadn’t heard about the film’s release.

Usually, hot movies generate lots of discussions.

However, Zhou Lan noted that ”Treasure” scored decently on Douban, with a 7.2 rating, which is quite good for a domestic light romantic comedy.

”I’m going to Australia for a business trip in a couple of days,” Zhou Lan said.

Lin Zhiping asked, ”How long will you be gone?”

”I don’t know yet, I have to discuss a collaboration over there, it depends on how the talks go,” Zhou Lan said, ”Sorry, I promised to go with you to Li Yundi’s concert, but...”
