Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1638: Chapter 811: Speech (7000 Words)_2

Chris Pine asked, ”Isn’t he shooting Hugh’s solo shots?”

”Hugh has already wrapped up and gone home,” Zhou Yun said, ”I just said goodbye to Hugh.”

Chris Pine: ”Then I better get going, I’m next after Hugh’s scene.”

He hurried off.

Zhou Yun smiled.

She caught a glimpse of Nakajima Hoto from the corner of her eye and noticed an indescribable expression on Nakajima’s face, somewhat helpless—like seeing a close one still being so impulsive.

A thought suddenly popped into Zhou Yun’s mind—Uh, no way?

Zhou Yun felt she might be overthinking it.

No, it couldn’t be.

...

The list of actor interviews published by Variety caught significant attention in China.

This was the first time in recent years that a Chinese actor participated in such a Hollywood interview.

Zhou Yun’s fans were very surprised.

They never expected that even though Zhou Yun didn’t have any films participating in the awards season this year, she was still invited.

Fans, while surprised, also began to promote what this actor interview event was all about.

Because not many Chinese participated in this event before, its popularity was limited.

As more people became aware of it, many also developed a mentality of taking things for granted.

The idea that Zhou Yun being invited to such events is quite normal—the change in perception among people is actually essential for an actor.

Why do people often use whether an actor has won an award to measure their success?

Because acting isn’t like math with a standard answer; you can’t give a score that’s universally unarguable.

So, when one side has its reasoning and the other has its arguments, an authoritative award can settle the matter with a single blow by giving a medal to an actor.

However, for a very few actors, even if they never win an award in their lifetime, it doesn’t affect the fact that they are good actors.

In the hearts of the audience, they are just that good, a god of acting. Such actors are very rare, and it’s hard for another to appear. Each of them has earned audience recognition through one performance after another.

Many actors have pursued international paths, and many have used the chance of starring in one or two overseas films to add prefixes to themselves: internationally renowned actor.

In reality, this can only fool those who aren’t in the know.

Those truly in the know understand that the number of Chinese actors with some fame internationally can be counted on two hands.

And those still active on the front lines can be counted on one hand.

Zhou Yun truly made a name for herself after establishing fame in Europe’s three major film festivals before hitting her stride in Hollywood.

She never promotes herself as an internationally renowned actor, but in the hearts of everyone, she is.

From attending various American elite parties and banquets over the past two years to attending major award ceremonies, not just as a spectator appearing in mainstream media, but as an invited guest, either presenting awards or participating as a nominee.

Zhou Yun’s name has genuinely entered the global spotlight.

For Chinese people, someone shining on the world stage is a matter of pride for all.

”Xu Siyao has been completely left behind now, she can’t even stick to Zhou Yun like a sticky candy anymore.”

In a makeup room on set, an actress laughed.

Others laughed along.

This crew is from a new production starring Xu Siyao as the lead actress, but she’s unpopular; people secretly dislike her, often gathering to gossip about her. Her presence has oddly unified the rest of the actors.

”Only someone like Xu Siyao, who is average, would demand that her dressing room or car is always exclusive,” someone else said, ”Have you ever heard of Zhou Yun making such demands? I heard that whenever she shoots a film in any crew, she’s always eating and staying with everyone else and never demands special treatment. Unlike a certain someone, who’s filming in the remote hills but insists on staying in a five-star hotel, wasting four hours commuting each day.”

”How else would she prove she’s the leading actress without such fuss?”
