Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 794: Chapter 524: Hard-to-Dispell Heart Obstacle (Part 2)

Wan Lanlan looked at Zhou Lan with some surprise and asked, ”What do you mean, Sister Lan?”

Zhou Lan said, ”Under the Grand Dress itself has invited many consultants from the fashion industry, who have done a lot of design work for the show. Perhaps we could do an analytical post on your WeChat official account? The magazine publication is too slow; no matter what broadcast model our drama adopts, we definitely won’t update just once a month. So, I was thinking, could we do a series on your WeChat official account that analyzes the fashion concepts and character costumes in each episode?”

Wan Lanlan knew as soon as Zhou Lan finished speaking that if her WeChat official account could take on this collaboration, it could potentially become a self-media platform with millions of followers by the end of the series.

She said in astonishment, ”I would certainly love to do the series, but what else would you need me to do?”

She believed that when Under the Grand Dress was broadcast, many fashion self-media accounts would be doing this, but Zhou Lan’s suggestion undoubtedly meant that her serial analysis would be the official main promotion, and by then, the drama’s official Weibo would most likely promote her analytical posts primarily.

If she had the official Weibo’s endorsement, many drama fans would definitely prioritize her posts.

Zhou Lan suddenly giving her this opportunity left her somewhat surprised.

After working as a fashion magazine editor for so many years, she was past the stage where ”I’m talented, so it’s only natural to get any opportunity.”

But Zhou Lan smiled and said, ”I just think you are the most suitable person for this. Not only do you have a very professional knowledge background, but you have also been working at the forefront of this industry, keeping up with the latest trends. Plus, you are very familiar with self-media and have been operating your own account for a while. You’re the right fit.”

These were all digressions from the production of Under the Grand Dress.

Everyone was trying their best to achieve better results for the series. The saying that a celebrity can carry a show is just nonsense. The crew has always been a collective effort; if any part fails, it can affect the whole.

Lately, Ning Yufeng was feeling a bit worried.

His concerns were about Zhou Jianfeng.

Zhou Jianfeng’s acting skills weren’t bad; he was a young man who knew how to act. But most of Zhou Jianfeng’s scenes were opposite Zhou Yun.

Even though Zhou Jianfeng’s character is portrayed as a somewhat arrogant, sharp, and mysteriously backed newcomer, in the script, he doesn’t just nod and bow to someone like the veteran editor Zou Ying; instead, he confronts her multiple times, which leads Zou Ying to start looking at him differently, and eventually, they develop a romantic relationship between an older woman and a younger man.

But on set, Zhou Jianfeng always seemed somewhat timid when acting with Zhou Yun.

Ning Yufeng could tell that Zhou Jianfeng had a certain respect for Zhou Yun, which made it difficult for him to let go, and it seemed like his own insecurities were preventing him from fully immersing himself in the role.

In a scene where Zhou Jianfeng and Zhou Yun were supposed to confront each other in a meeting, Ning Yufeng called for five NGs, but it still didn’t pass.

This was a rare occurrence on the set of Under the Grand Dress.

Everyone on set could see that the delay in this scene was due to Zhou Jianfeng.

It wasn’t because he forgot his lines or missed his marks; it was simply that Zhou Jianfeng couldn’t get into the right state of mind, and seemed to be in a different world compared to Zhou Yun.

Ning Yufeng felt that it wasn’t a solution to keep wasting time like this, so he decided to stop shooting this scene temporarily and move on to others.

This caused a lot of discussion among the crew.

Especially for Zhou Jianfeng, who could clearly feel the doubt and curiosity in the looks he received from people around him.

Their looks were understandable, of course.

He was the male lead, selected from so many candidates, and a junior of Zhou Yun under Chengqian Entertainment. How could he perform like this?

How did he get this role?

He wasn’t famous, had no significant backing; if it weren’t for Yu Zhiyang’s car accident that made it impossible for him to act, the role wouldn’t have been his.

Zhou Jianfeng already felt somewhat inferior because he had only been a substitute; repeated on-set acting failures deepened his unease.

Zhou Yun also noticed Zhou Jianfeng’s state.

It was false to say she wasn’t in a hurry. She was well aware that if she and Zhou Jianfeng lacked chemistry in their performance, it would be a devastating blow to Under the Grand Dress.
