Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 780: Chapter 519: Good Luck with the Start of Filming (Part 3)

Guan Siya couldn’t understand for the life of her why she had suddenly been kicked out.

The whole affair turned out to be a complete disaster. Not only had she made an enemy out of Cheng Shenlv, but she also failed to secure the role of the third female lead in ”Deep Sea”. How could this happen?

If she could land a role in ”Deep Sea”, opposing Cheng Shenlv would be worth it, but now she hadn’t gained any advantage at all!

The next time Guan Siya met with Cheng Shenlv, she tried to smooth things over with her, but Cheng Shenlv wouldn’t even give her the chance to speak and ignored her completely.

The rest of the cast could see the tension between the two and kept a safe distance, not wanting to be caught in the crossfire.

On the other hand, rumors of Guan Siya’s private complaints about Zhou Yun had alerted everyone to be cautious around her.

Someone who spreads others’ private conversations will never be trusted anywhere.

Guan Siya had not pondered this before, but gradually, she would come to understand this truth.

And so, a moderate storm over added scenes came to an end.

Cheng Shenlv became much more reserved on set compared to her boisterous arrival.

On the official first day of filming, the very first scene was a group scene in the editorial department.

Zhou Yun walked into the editorial office with her coffee, her heels clicking on the floor.

”Sister Ying, morning!” Lin Luyao, playing an editor full of vitality, greeted her cheerfully.

”Morning, I read the tweet you wrote last night, you’re getting better and better!” Zhou Yun poured her coffee into her cup and smiled at Lin Luyao.

”That’s because Sister Ying taught me hands-on. If I botched it, it would tarnish your reputation.” Lin Luyao got up and walked over, leaning in to whisper in Zhou Yun’s ear, ”Sister Ying, I heard we’re getting a new chief editor, do you know who it is?”

”I heard it’s someone poached from another company, but I don’t have the details. We’ll know once we meet them.” Zhou Yun shook her head helplessly at Lin Luyao, ”Really, no gossip can escape your ears.”

”What are you whispering about? All secretive.” Jian Man, also playing an editor, came in with a coffee in hand, suddenly stopped, narrowed her eyes, sniffing the air and looking at Luo Zi’s desk, ”Luo Zi, next time you bring meat buns into the office, I’m tossing them in the trash of the chief editor’s office for you to explain the smell yourself.”

Luo Zi rolled her eyes, finished the last bite of her meat bun, opened her drawer, took out a toiletry bag, and sauntered towards the washroom.

”You live a fairy life, while I’m merely mortal. If you wish to deliver meat buns to the chief editor’s office, go ahead, but it won’t be me delivering them.”

Jian Man rolled her eyes in frustration.

Lin Luyao sighed softly, muttering, ”Here we go again.”

Zhou Yun gave a slight smile and signaled for her to talk less.

At that moment, a clear voice rang out from the entrance: ”Good morning, I’m the new editor Lin Yimei!”

Everyone in the editorial room turned to look as the new editor played by Cheng Shenlv stood at the door, beaming brightly at everyone.

The atmosphere froze for about two seconds, with no one responding to Cheng Shenlv.

Cheng Shenlv touched the back of her head awkwardly, about to speak again, when she was suddenly pushed aside by a hurried figure, a woman with short hair, wearing a white blouse and very short shorts, ran in with a shocked look in her eyes, announcing, ”I just ran into a terrifying woman downstairs!”

This was the actress Liu Lingqi.

”Don’t be such a drama queen every day, okay?” Jian Man glanced at her disdainfully, ”You’ve turned our editorial office into a sitcom set.”

Liu Lingqi exaggerated, saying, ”It’s true! They said it’s our new chief editor! When did we get a new chief editor?”

The editorial office suddenly fell silent.

Everyone looked at each other.

At this moment, the rhythmic, crisp sound of high heels approached from outside.

Closer and closer.

Zeng Lili walked into the editorial office wearing high heels and oversized sunglasses, her posture elegant and commanding.

”Good morning, I’m your new chief editor.”

A calm and graceful smile graced her face, her gaze was not fierce, but it carried a strong aura.

Everyone rose from their desks.

”Cut!”

Ning Yufeng clapped his hands excitedly.

He hadn’t expected that every actor would perform so well in the first scene.

Ning Yufeng said, ”Looks like the preliminary script reading was really useful, what an amazing take you guys did!”

Zhou Yun led a round of applause, smiling, ”Even though it’s the first scene, it feels like we’ve been working together for a long time!”

The faces of the cast lightened up, all smiles and in good spirits.

Meanwhile, Guan Siya, who was waiting for her next scene, was astounded by the sight.
