Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 762: Chapter 513: New Film Incoming_3

Zhou Yun was thinking this when Shen Yao suddenly got in touch with her, giving her a call.

”Xiao Yun.”

”Brother Yao, hey!” said Zhou Yun. ”What’s up with Brother Yao having time to call me today?”

” is set to premiere next month, and I was wondering if you had time to join us for some promotion,” said Shen Yao.

Zhou Yun exclaimed with a ”wow,” saying, ” is also going to be released, that’s great, next month, let me think about it, when exactly? I have a film that’s scheduled to start shooting at the end of July, so my availability will be a bit difficult to coordinate after joining the crew then.”

”It won’t be at the end of the month; we are planning to release on July 14.”

”Okay, I’ll talk to my agent and ask her to try to keep the time free.”

”It’s so refreshing to chat with you. Thanks a lot.”

”Why be so formal with me? When I first thanked you for giving me the chance to act in , you also told me there was no need for courtesy.”

Shen Yao let out a cheerful ”aha,” laughing with special satisfaction.

Deep down, Zhou Yun truly appreciated Shen Yao. Initially without any backing or achievements in the film industry, competing for the coveted role in , it was Shen Yao who asserted she could do it, granting her this acting opportunity. Of course, looking at it now, it’s obvious that got the better deal, as they managed to hire the now successful Zhou Yun at a relatively low remuneration at that time. But at that moment, Shen Yao had no idea she would have such strong box office appeal.

Moreover, the whole collaboration process was very enjoyable, and Shen Yao never made her feel uncomfortable.

Afterwards, through Zhou Lan’s connections, Shen Yao also offered Wang Jing a supporting female role in another new film, which was another favor to be remembered.

Therefore, when Shen Yao took the initiative to make this call, Zhou Yun was definitely going to cooperate as much as possible.

Once the release date of was announced, the trailer followed.

Zhou Yun appeared frequently in the trailer, which shocked everyone.

In the film, Zhou Yun delivered the most artistic lines, spoke the most disgusting and cheesy phrases, and made the most coquettish gestures, blending seamlessly with the style of this comedy movie while delivering a tremendous impact.

After watching the trailer, many people reflected that they had initially thought Zhou Yun would just be a beautiful vase in this comedy, but to their surprise, this supporting role turned into her most subversive performance.

At least from the current trailer, Zhou Yun had completely overturned her previous image.

The distributor bought a trending search entry for Zhou Yun titled ”Zhou Yun’s most subversive performance,” and it made it to the hot search.

The entry surged to number one on the trending search list, even higher than Shen Yao’s. In terms of online topicality, Shen Yao certainly could not compare with Zhou Yun, which was precisely why Shen Yao personally called Zhou Yun to invite her to participate in the promotion. Just a month prior, Zhou Yun single-handedly pushed the box office of from tens of millions to five hundred million, astonishing the industry and leaving people in awe, with no one underestimating her drawing power.

Later, in an interview when Shen Yao was asked about Zhou Yun’s performance in the film, he commented, ”There’s no need to say much about Zhou Yun’s acting skills, everyone knows how good she is. What I want to say is that her dedication and passion for acting, even for me, are something I find there is a lot to learn from. Such a beautiful actress, when portraying a character, never considers whether her own image will look unattractive; when adjusting the script, she never worries whether it will tend to uglify the character. Of course, we don’t revise the script with the intention of making Zhou Yun’s character look bad, but it’s for the needs of the entire film. Zhou Yun sees these adjustments as beneficial for the whole film, and even if it requires some sacrifice from her, she never hesitates to do it. I’ll be honest, as an actor myself, I would actually have doubts inside, but she doesn’t, so after working with her, I really respect her. Her achieving what she has now is entirely deserved.”
