Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 760: Chapter 513: New Film Incoming

”Director Kang Xin’s new drama?”

Zhou Lan looked at Zhou Yun in surprise.

”Right.”

Zhou Yun nodded.

Zhou Lan said, ”Director Kang has kept his information so tight, nobody knew he was about to start a TV drama, everyone just knew he had several plays in development.”

”Yeah,” Zhou Yun said, ”Now you don’t have to worry about my schedule being unfilled, it starts shooting at the end of the year, almost aligning perfectly with ’Under the Grand Dress’.”

Zhou Lan said, ”What about that dual leading actress play by Yuehai, do you still plan to act in it?”

Zhou Yun nodded and said, ”Yes, I’ve read the script, it’s really well-written with a strong sense of suspense.”

”Does it conflict with your schedule?” Zhou Lan asked.

Zhou Yun said, ”It could be coordinated. Director Kang mentioned it’s at the end of the year, but the exact start date isn’t set, and didn’t Yuehai also say he would follow my schedule?”

”Alright, as long as you’re willing to act, I can indeed coordinate the schedule,” Zhou Lan nodded, ”But this way, you have ended up filming seven dramas in one year.”

”Wow.” Zhou Yun was shocked by the number.

Zhou Lan spread his hands, nodded, and said, ”Surprised, right?”

Zhou Yun said, ”Am I that much of a workhorse this year?”

”Yes,” Zhou Lan said, ”Others might spend half a year on a single play, like Ruxue did with ’Spring Cold’, she devoted nearly half a year to that film.”

”’Spring Cold’, one play’s volume is equal to five of Director Kang’s new films, and each of Kang’s films only has twelve episodes,” Zhou Yun said, ”They are relatively smaller in scale.”

Zhou Lan nodded and said, ”Speaking of which, if the three TV dramas start shooting as scheduled this year, the combined volume of these three dramas won’t match one ’Spring Cold’. This perfectly fits our earlier strategy of only doing TV shows with short series.”

Zhou Yun shrugged and said, ”It’s not realistic for me to act in a lengthy series like ’Spring Cold’ now, I can’t shuffle my schedule, right?”

”Yes, New Shield has already started booking my schedule for next year,” Zhou Lan said, ”I heard that Wen Bing is already writing the script, wanting to develop a spin-off about the female assassin you played in ’Two Tigers’. You’re becoming his muse.”

”Is he still with Windsor?” Zhou Yun asked.

”Mm, the two of them are deeply in love,” Zhou Lan knew what Zhou Yun meant, ”There’s no sign of them breaking up.”

”Alright then.”

”I heard that Windsor is planning to resign,” Zhou Lan added, ”She plans to join Wen Bing’s crew and become his assistant.”

”What?” Zhou Yun looked at Zhou Lan in shock, ”Sister Lan, don’t scare me, is it true? Please tell me Wen Bing has rejected this plan.”

”Unfortunately, Wen Bing did not reject Windsor. He feels Windsor’s work in the law firm is not a core position like a lawyer, it’s just clerical, easily replaceable, and lacks space for self-improvement. He himself suggested that Windsor should switch to a job where she can continually improve herself.”

”That being said, bringing her into his own film crew, how do you differentiate love and work?”

Zhou Yun took a deep breath, did this mean that cooperating with Wen Bing in future films would also involve dealing with Windsor?

This greatly opposed what Zhou Yun felt inside.

Yet, she had no one to share these feelings with.

By the end of June, ’Behind the Scenes’ had broken 500 million at the box office, reaching a new milestone.

’Movie Report’ revealed the background of the film’s production, noting that the film achieved an unimaginable box office success with an extremely low cost.

Zhou Yun’s fans were very happy, promoting it everywhere.

The media also dubbed Zhou Yun as the ”Box Office Queen.”

To date, whether in TV dramas or films, Zhou Yun hasn’t had a single flop, astonishing the industry.

Next, ’Warm Little Horse’ and ’Two Tigers’ are set to release within the year.

Although both movies are supporting roles, under Zhou Yun’s current aura, they are still highly anticipated.

Especially as the box office prospects for these two films look promising.

Many are curious about how long it will take for Zhou Yun to climb into the top ten in the cumulative box office rankings of Chinese-language film actresses.

After raising this question, not many were optimistic.

Some distinctly pointed out that judging from Zhou Yun’s style of choosing scripts, she doesn’t favor pure popcorn movies. Although the next few commercial films, whether ’Warm Little Horse’ or ’Two Tigers’ and ’Four Killers’, are directed by somewhat famous author-type directors, even if Zhou Yun acted in several commercial films, these movies might not become blockbusters. Inside the industry, only ’Warm Little Horse’ is expected to potentially hit over two billion, mainly because Shen Yao stars and due to its comedic theme. The already released ’Life’ and ’Behind the Scenes’ are genuine art films, and while they have achieved high box office results as art films, their volume ultimately still only falls in the range of 200 million to 600 million, which doesn’t help Zhou Yun’s cumulative box office performance as much as it seems.
