Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 783: Chapter 520: Eating and Chatting (Part 3)

After all, this is a TV drama that requires handsome men and beautiful women.

The people in the editing room sat around a large round table, joined by Ning Yufeng and Zhou Jianfeng.

Everyone had lunch together with laughter and chatter.

This was also a requirement of Ning Yufeng’s, who insisted that everyone sit down together for a meal every day.

He said, ”Colleagues in the editing room see each other from morning till night, and may not necessarily admire each other, but the sense of familiarity is very important, especially many instantaneous reactions. Therefore, it’s essential to cultivate familiarity and rapport between each other.”

Ning Yufeng is someone who likes to incorporate work into his daily life. He believes that acting is not just about releasing on set or in front of the camera. If the actors do the groundwork properly, when they get to the set and act, it will be a process of accumulating a lot of energy and then releasing it lightly. He really liked Zhou Yun and Zeng Lili’s acting, as they performed with apparent ease.

Ning Yufeng commented at the table, ”Teacher Lili is really incredible, so savvy. She just sits there, without saying a word, a single glance can tell everyone her identity, what her status is among all of you, tsk tsk, such pure and skilled acting is really the mark of a true thespian.”

”Director, this flattery is warmly received, feel free to keep it coming,” Zeng Lili joked.

Everyone laughed.

Zeng Lili said, ”But honestly, I’ve never played such an imposing and powerful woman before, I mostly played more tragic roles in the past, wow, it is really exhilarating to act this out.”

Zhou Yun said to her, ”If you find it so enjoyable, why not ask the screenwriters to write a script based on your character and make a spin-off series?”

Zeng Lili waved her hand saying, ”Forget it, forget it, who would watch a spin-off drama starring me?”

”That’s not necessarily true, Sister Lili, look at ’Behind the Scenes’, after it aired, how many people became your fans, all screaming ’Sister, humiliate me’, I’ve seen the content in your super topic,” Zhou Yun laughed.

Zeng Lili shrugged helplessly, saying, ”I still don’t understand what they mean by those words.”

The others laughed.

Ning Yufeng said, ”Maybe after this drama airs, fans will call for a second season.”

Zhou Yun said with a smile, ”That’s not impossible, as long as enough people like it. But before that, let’s focus on making the current episodes good. If the audience doesn’t like it, whatever we say now is emptiness.”

”Trust me, I have a feeling that our show is going to be a huge hit,” said Liu Lingqi confidently. ”By the way, isn’t Sister Wan Fangli coming today?”

Ning Yufeng said, ”Fangli’s scenes are not related to the editing room’s storyline, so they are scheduled to be shot later. She’s not with the crew right now.”

Wan Fangli in the drama plays the role of a friend of Zhou Yun, and not one of the editors in the editing room, so she does not need to participate in the early scenes depicting the editing room.

Understanding, Liu Lingqi nodded.

After lunch, Zhou Yun went to the resting room to take a break.

She dozed off for a while, roughly twenty minutes, when she was awakened by the knocking of Zhou Lan.

Zhou Lan came to discuss ”Deep Sea” with her.

”I’ve already communicated with Yuk Chu, and once she signs a formal contract with us, then she will sign for ’Deep Sea.’ Now, Xu Jinbo has brought in Liang Hengjun to be the director.”

”Liang Hengjun?” Zhou Yun asked in surprise, ”Isn’t that Luo Zhiqiu’s friend?”

She remembered that when Song Chi was with Zuo Jing, Luo Zhiqiu wanted Liang Hengjun to be the director of ”Heart Inquiry,” but in the end, he compromised and followed Song Chi’s idea to have Kang Xin as the director.

Zhou Lan said, ”In the past two years, all of Zuo Jing’s film and television projects have tanked, with heavy losses, and they are not doing much business now. However, Liang Hengjun’s capabilities are still very strong. He has collaborated on two dramas with Yuehai before, and both have performed well after airing. Xu Jinbo approaching him is quite normal, and with a female-centric drama like ’Deep Sea’, Liang Hengjun has experience as well.”

”Uh-huh,” Zhou Yun nodded.

”Of course, Xu Jinbo asked me to check with you about your opinion on inviting Liang Hengjun,” said Zhou Lan.

Zhou Yun replied, ”No objections, it’s fine if they decide that.”

”Alright,” Zhou Lan nodded, ”Another thing, I plan to bring in Lu Zhongting and Huang Zicheng for ’Deep Sea’ to play two roles.”

”Sure,” Zhou Yun nodded, ”you arrange it.”
