Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 763: Chapter 514: New Developments

Shen Yao’s high praise for Zhou Yun surprised everyone and seemed incredible.

Some even wondered if Shen Yao was exaggerating too much.

Zhou Yun was still so young, and they had only collaborated once for not a very long duration. Shen Yao praised her to the skies, was it truly from his heart?

Many people harbored such doubts.

Sometimes, praise isn’t necessarily a good thing. Because sometimes, some praises can give the impression of ”undeserved status.”

In fact, Shen Yao’s words stem partly from his genuine admiration for Zhou Yun, as a fellow actor, he recognizes Zhou Yun; and partly because Zhou Yun has now established her position and influence in the film industry, and Shen Yao wanted to support her, but unexpectedly, it brought her some troubles.

Many mocked Shen Yao online for speaking thoughtlessly just to sell tickets. Shen Yao, however, was indifferent to these, his fan base was too large, just seeing his face on movie posters was enough for people to buy tickets to watch his films. The online mockery had no effect on him.

But Zhou Yun, who had just gone through a personal image crisis, now had people seizing this as an opportunity to attack her, with those reemerging voices mocking her.

Zhou Lan lamented, ”What an unwarranted disaster.”

Zhou Yun smiled and said, ”It’s okay, don’t take it to heart, I’ve come to terms with it. As long as it doesn’t truly harm me, I won’t take it to heart.”

Zhou Lan gave Zhou Yun a thumbs up.

”Your mindset, I’m tempted to invite you to run a training class for other artists in the company.”

”Better not, otherwise everyone will just say, ah, Zhou Yun can talk because she isn’t the one suffering, if I were as popular as her, I wouldn’t care about others’ criticisms either,” Zhou Yun imitated others in a joking tone, ”That’s definitely what would happen, they just wouldn’t say it to my face.”

Zhou Lan made an agreeing noise.

”But still, for Shen Yao to give such praise during an interview, it shows he truly appreciates you,”

Zhou Yun: ”I don’t think I’m as good as he says.”

”Haha.”

”Warm Little Horse” is a blockbuster film scheduled for release in July, very much anticipated by cinema managers.

Regardless of the external storms, Zhou Yun resolutely participated in the promotional activities for ”Warm Little Horse.”

During one of these events, she encountered Yu Sitian.

This admirer of Song Chi now felt complex emotions upon seeing Zhou Yun, somewhat reluctant.

The person once looked down upon, had now become someone she could only look up to.

Even though both were supporting characters, at the same event, everyone treated her as the leading lady, and Shen Yao also treated her with great respect.

Backstage, Yu Sitian stayed in her own room, not going out to greet others, because she didn’t want to encounter Zhou Yun, it would be too awkward.

During the event, they didn’t stand next to each other and there was no exchange of glances either.

After the event, Yu Sitian felt more exhausted than if she had shot scenes for a day.

She had become less talkative and began to hide her emotions.

After the event ended, in the car back, her agent asked her, ”Have you made your decision? ’Dragon Ascending’ is rushing us for an answer.”

Recently, two drama projects reached out to Yu Sitian simultaneously – one was a city romance-themed TV drama offering her one million per episode, the other was ”Dragon Ascending,” a family saga spanning ten years offering four hundred thousand per episode due to multiple actors.

Both TV dramas were hard to decide between. The former’s benefits include her being the absolute protagonist, high salaries, and a stable viewer market for the genre, but drawbacks include an average production team, too many similar themes in the market, and just an adequate script which may create some buzz when aired but would quickly be forgotten. The latter’s advantages include a very solid script and good production team, but the genre isn’t popular in the current market, uncertain reception upon airing, and lower pay, which might result in an empty effort.

Previously, Yu Sitian never acted in TV dramas, but after she broke the norm and took up director Hong Chengzhi’s ”Daqin Road,” many TV dramas began approaching her.
