Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 765: Chapter 514: New Developments 3

Zhou Yun nodded understandingly.

”Brother Shen, I understand your point, I will consider it carefully.”

...

”Warm Little Horse” had already surpassed one hundred million in presales the day before its release.

On the premiere day, the box office broke two hundred million, and then continued to break two hundred million on Saturday and Sunday. By the end of the first weekend, the total box office reached seven hundred million.

This is the impact of a major commercial production.

While Zhou Yun contributed the most discussion topics throughout the publicity journey, according to survey results from professional institutions, eighty percent of the audience actually went for Shen Yao, and only ten percent bought tickets because of Zhou Yun.

Of course, being able to play such a role in a movie completely dominated by Shen Yao already shows Zhou Yun’s capability.

The buzz around Zhou Yun could bring more awareness to this movie, mainly driving the general public’s engagement.

As far as movie box office is concerned, the general public always makes up the largest part of the audience.

Zhou Yun’s performance in ”Warm Little Horse” was a huge surprise to everyone.

Not only did industry insiders and professional critics give high praise, but the audience who saw the film also highly complimented Zhou Yun on social media.

This was mainly due to the character Zhou Yun portrayed, which was very different from her usual image.

”Proud yet self-deprecating, stunningly beautiful yet giving off a sense of drifting origin, and she uniquely integrated her own rhythm into the comedic pace of the movie, keeping smiles non-stop, then while laughing, you would start to feel sad for her,” one critic commented on their social media platform, ”After seeing this movie, I understand why Shen Yao thinks so highly of Zhou Yun. Zhou Yun single-handedly elevated the artistic quality of the film. Indeed, the segment where Zhou Yun appears is the most cinematic moment of the film, and also when Shen Yao’s acting shines the most. Zhou Yun’s performance provided a solid foundation for the warmth portrayed by Shen Yao’s character, unfortunately, compared to this, other segments where Shen Yao shows warmth and kindness seem somewhat mediocre.”

A big V with hundreds of thousands of followers said, ”Seeing the shampoo girl played by Zhou Yun bringing Shen Yao to her home, trying to sleep with him in an exaggerated, self-mocking manner, I really found myself crying while laughing, Zhou Yun’s performance was so sophisticated, the more proactive and funny she was, the more heart-wrenching it felt, portraying the sorrow of the underdog.”

Some said, ”However, it is still a mediocre comedy.”

The heated discussions online made ”Warm Little Horse” a widely talked about work.

Not only intellectuals and white-collar elites were discussing it, but comedy movies are inherently the most popular in lower-tier markets.

The box office of ”Warm Little Horse” continued to climb, surpassing two billion in a week, meeting market expectations and showing no signs of slowing down.

With the Cannes Film Festival in May, ”Behind the Scenes” in June, and ”Warm Little Horse” in July, Zhou Yun was like having no vacation at all, continuously active in the public eye.

In July, Zhou Yun was invited to seven significant events, including one social media platform gala, three luxury brand activities, one fashion event, and two charity events.

The three luxury brand activities and the fashion event earned her a substantial appearance fee, which Zhou Yun then donated at the charity events.

This again caused quite a stir.

Amidst the surprise, Zhou Yun’s promotional journey also temporarily came to an end, as she needed to fully prepare for the start of filming ”Under the Grand Dress”.

The start date for ”Under the Grand Dress” was set for August 12th, a date determined to be auspicious for beginning filming.

Chengqian Film and Television was in charge of the production, and the director had been working with them on setting up the scene for a long time.

Zhou Yun had meetings with them every now and then, just to look at the site plans and make various judgments.

Even though these things didn’t concern her directly, everyone unanimously felt that everything should be previewed by Zhou Yun first, and only after she nodded could they proceed.

The four key characters in ”Under the Grand Dress” are first, the fashion editor Zou Ying, played by Zhou Yun, second, the editor-in-chief, played by Zeng Lili, third, Zou Ying’s best friend Yin Feifeng, played by Wan Fangli, and fourth, Zou Ying’s boyfriend, played by Zhou Jianfeng.

Beyond these four characters, there are many other roles. The editorial department alone has nine regular characters who appear in each episode, not including other departments.

All the actors have been finalized, and several script reading sessions have been organized, just waiting to start shooting.
