Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 758: Chapter 512: A New Plan (Part 2)

”No, everything you said makes sense, Sister Lan. It helped me sort out my thoughts,” Wang Jing said. ”Recently, I’ve been feeling rather lost and unsure; my life has undergone significant changes.”

”This is something you’ll need to adapt to and get accustomed to. From now on, you are a mature actor, no longer the obscure newcomer you once were,” Zhou Lan said. ”Adjust your attitude, learn from your Sister Xiao Yun. Her mindset is the best I’ve ever seen. Whether at the peak or the nadir, whether surrounded by applause or attacked by public opinion, she always manages to keep her emotions stable, which is very important for a celebrity.”

”Okay.” Wang Jing nodded.

...

On Zhou Yun’s side, she had previously arranged to meet with Director Kang Xin, so as soon as she had some free time, she immediately scheduled an appointment with him.

After finishing ”Heart Inquiry”, Director Kang Xin has been preparing his own projects.

His company is pushing several plays simultaneously, and no one knows which one Director Kang Xin will start shooting first.

However, ”Heart Inquiry” brought Director Kang Xin back into the embrace of the film and television market, making him again highly sought after by various platforms, each trying to secure his next TV series, driving the price higher and higher. However, Director Kang Xin hasn’t made any move, as his habit is not to decide on these matters until a play has officially started shooting, lest unexpected factors arise that could more significantly affect his judgment.

Zhou Yun and Song Chi came together.

Seeing Song Chi, Director Kang Xin asked, ”Hasn’t your leg healed yet?”

Song Chi shook his head and said, ”It still needs more time to recover.”

”That must have set you back quite a bit, hasn’t it?” Director Kang Xin said. ”When will it be healed?”

”I don’t know; I have to follow the doctor’s advice, but I’ll be able to remove the cast soon,” Song Chi laughed a bit and asked, ”Director Kang, I heard you’re about to start a drama about a Warring States princess?”

”No, that script isn’t up to par yet; we’re still revising it,” Director Kang Xin waved his hand. ”We’ll have to wait until the script is ready before discussing the shoot.”

Song Chi made a sound of understanding, ”I thought you wanted to discuss that drama with Xiao Yun, to have her play the Warring States princess.”

”I do have that idea, but right now the script isn’t finalized, so we’ll talk about it later,” Director Kang Xin told Zhou Yun. ”You’ve been incredibly popular lately.”

Zhou Yun smiled and nodded, ”Yes, very popular recently.”

Director Kang Xin said, ”That’s really incredible, awesome, to have become so popular so quickly, and to be so skilled at it.”

”Thank you for your praise,” Zhou Yun, who had come without makeup, asked Director Kang Xin, ”Have you been busy recently?”

”I can’t slow down; I’m pushing several of my plays every day, so many that I want to shoot. I’ll be straightforward with you—I want to make a crime-themed TV drama and I want you to act in it, what do you think?”

Without any hesitation, Zhou Yun smiled and said, ”Of course, how could I refuse?”

Director Kang Xin said, ”If you don’t want to act, just say so, don’t feel pressured.”

”I wouldn’t want to miss it. Who wouldn’t want to act in your play?” Zhou Yun said. ”I was actually worried you might not consider me for your new project.”

”Now that you’re so popular, everyone wants to work with you,” Director Kang Xin said. ”There must be many people approaching you?”

”There are many, but as outstanding a director as you are, there are few,” Zhou Yun inquired, ”When will you shoot this play? I’m just worried about scheduling because I’m about to shoot a modern drama, you know, ’Under the Grand Dress.’”

Director Kang Xin nodded, ”I plan to shoot it by the end of the year. It’s a small scale project, just twelve episodes, should wrap up in about two months.”

Zhou Yun nodded, ”Okay, I’ll speak to my company and keep my schedule free for you.”

Director Kang Xin remarked, ”So agreeable, even without knowing the script or what role you’ll play, you agreed.”

Zhou Yun nodded, ”I trust you completely; I know you will definitely make me look good.”

Different directors have different levels of skill. Why Zhou Yun held ”Heart Inquiry” in such a special place in her heart, treasuring it deeply, was because during the filming of ”Heart Inquiry,” Director Kang Xin established a fundamental set of acting principles for her.
