Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 393: Chapter 320: First Light: 3_4

”Yeah, otherwise Brother Lew wouldn’t bother.” Song Chi said, ”He already invited me to be on the last episode of the season, and I accepted.”

”That’s great.”

”Are you at the hotel now?”

”Yeah, I’m in the hallway on the phone with you. Xiao Bei is already asleep,” Zhou Yun said. ”This kid is really understanding.”

”Then you should get inside quickly. I’ll call you again tomorrow,” Song Chi said.

”Yeah, you should get some rest too.”

After hanging up, Zhou Yun’s fatigue eased somewhat.

She returned to the room, checked on Xiao Bei first, and seeing him sound asleep gave her a sigh of relief.

She went to the bathroom for a quick wash.

After coming out, Zhou Yun lay down on the other bed, picked up her phone, and prepared to scroll through her phone before going to sleep.

The moment she turns it on, she finds a message from Gu Huaichun two minutes ago: What have you done again? Liu Pinran met with me today, and the moment he spoke about you, he was fuming.

Zhou Yun curled her lip, laughed, and replied: Nothing much, just had a little battle with him a couple of days ago.

Gu Huaichun: You met with him?

Zhou Yun: Yeah, remember the unpleasantness before? So I took a chance to make up.

Gu Huaichun: He must’ve reached out to you first, right?

Zhou Yun: You think I’d actually go to him? In his dreams.

Gu Huaichun: No wonder, he looked so pissed off.

Zhou Yun: Now that you’re so popular, he still insists on bickering with me. As if Yuehai isn’t enough for him to mess around with, he just has to pick on me.

Gu Huaichun sent over a laughing face, then added: But you really did it—joined up with Song Chi. And here you were, insisting to me that you two were just friends.

Zhou Yun: We really were just friends at that time. Wasn’t lying to you.

Gu Huaichun: Alright, whatever you say.

Zhou Yun: Don’t go morally blackmailing me. Been busy lately? Mr. Big Shot.

Gu Huaichun: I wouldn’t dare call myself a big shot in front of you. Running around from place to place, I feel like I’m just a tool.

Zhou Yun laughed, saying: You’ll get a break after this busy period. What’s the next project you’re filming?

Gu Huaichun: Big sister, did you forget that you stuffed someone into my next project?

Reminded by Gu Huaichun, Zhou Yun suddenly remembered.

Wang Jing!

”Dark Sky” Part Two.

Zhou Yun said: I remember now, looking forward to it.

Gu Huaichun: When are you free? Haven’t seen you in a while. Let’s grab a meal sometime. Yin Zhou said it’s been a long time since he’s seen you too.

Zhou Yun said: Sure, I’ll be in Shanghai for the next few days with quite a bit of free time. Just let me know whenever, and I’ll be there.

Gu Huaichun: ??? Why are you so free? Shouldn’t you be busier than me?

Zhou Yun said: About to join a new group soon, enjoying the last bit of happy times before that.

Gu Huaichun: I’ll be joining a new group soon too. My agent told me to make the most of this last period and take on a few more gigs.

Zhou Yun: Don’t overdo it, or you’ll end up looking good going straight to the hospital.

Gu Huaichun: No worries, I’m in good health.

Zhou Yun: ? Is that an invitation to compete in health? You need to balance work and rest, my friend.

Gu Huaichun: No way to balance now. Yuehai is too big, too many artists. The moment I rest, others will snatch away the gigs.

Zhou Yun said: If they’re snatched, let them be. Anyway, you can’t be working 24 hours a day.

Gu Huaichun: My situation is different from yours. We’ll talk when we meet.

Zhou Yun: Okay.

Gu Huaichun: I’ll check with Yin Zhou to see when he’s free, and I’ll book a place.

Zhou Yun: Ok.

Gu Huaichun: Not inviting Xu Siyao, right?

Zhou Yun: You’re planning to invite her?

Gu Huaichun: Who knows if you two have made up.

Zhou Yun: Care to bet I’ll block you?

Gu Huaichun: Alright, alright, I get it. Won’t invite her, calm down.

After chatting with Gu Huaichun, Zhou Yun smiled and charged her phone before going to bed.

...

The next morning, Zhou Yun was still drowsily asleep when suddenly she felt something furry nearby. In her confused state of consciousness, she thought it was some animal and sprung up, sitting bolt upright, letting out a shrill scream.

Turning her head, she found Xiao Bei kneeling by her bed, looking at her with his big round eyes.

”Aunt Xiao Yun, are you awake?”

Zhou Yun’s heart settled down.

She clutched her chest and took a deep breath, saying, ”Why did you wake up so early?”

Xiao Bei replied, ”It’s not early, it’s already seven o’clock.”

Only then did Zhou Yun belatedly remember, oh, that’s right, Xiao Bei has to get up early for school each day.
