Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 386: Chapter 319: First Light: 2

As Zhou Yun had promised to record Lew Yuan’s new program ”Flowers and Things,” she ended her vacation early and returned to Shanghai.

Zheng Xiaojue and Cao Jun also ended their vacations early because of this.

”Sorry, guys, the holiday I promised you has got cut short by a few days,” Zhou Yun said to them as soon as they met.

Yet Zheng Xiaojue was beaming with joy, saying, ”My sisters are already envious of me; they didn’t get any vacation at all.”

Zhou Yun asked, ”Where did you go on your vacation?”

”I went back home,” said Zheng Xiaojue. ”Sister Xiao Yun, I brought you a lot of peaches and apples that we grow ourselves!”

Zhou Yun said, ”I hope it’s not too much; otherwise, I won’t be able to finish them all by myself.”

Zheng Xiaojue said, ”I also brought a share for your brother-in-law. It was so hard to carry, but fortunately, Brother Cao helped me bring it back.”

The vacation clearly made Zheng Xiaojue very happy; she was all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed since returning.

”Thank you, you’ve worked hard,” said Zhou Yun.

Out of nowhere, Zhou Lan appeared behind Zheng Xiaojue, raised her hand, and knocked on the back of Zheng Xiaojue’s head, ”What about mine?”

With extreme sycophancy, Zheng Xiaojue hugged Zhou Lan’s arm and said, ”I’ve got it, I’ve got it, of course I wouldn’t forget my dear Sister Lan’s share.”

Zhou Yun clicked her tongue twice, saying, ”Way too brown-nosing.”

Zheng Xiaojue stuck out her tongue.

Zhou Lan walked over to Zhou Yun’s side, clapped her hands, and said, ”Okay, let’s talk about business. Xiao Yun, you’re going to record ’Flowers and Things’ tomorrow. This show is mainly about going as a guest to help the program team find some ordinary guests in advance and sell some of their unwanted items. I’ve already discussed with the program producer, and they won’t bring up any topics related to Song Chi during the show, not just Lew Yuan, so you can be at ease about that. However, the producer also mentioned that they hope to film a segment at your place, and it would be best if you could provide one or two items for sale.”

Zhou Yun thought for a moment and nodded, saying, ”No problem.”

Zhou Lan said, ”Okay, then there’s no problem. Oh, and remember, tomorrow’s recording will be fully documented, so be careful not to look at your phone during certain shots.”

Zhou Yun nodded, ”No problem.”

That night, Zhou Yun slept alone in bed, probably because she had gotten used to having Song Chi sleep beside her every night. She suddenly felt somewhat unaccustomed.

The next morning, bright and early, Zhou Yun got up, changed into running shoes, and went downstairs for a run.

Took a shower, changed clothes.

At nine o’clock, the crew of the show showed up on time and knocked on the door.

Led by Lew Yuan.

Zhou Yun had already changed into her home clothes, her face clean and unadorned but still refreshingly beautiful.

She warmly hugged Lew Yuan, saying, ”Long time no see.”

Lew Yuan laughed and said, ”Finally, I can congratulate you in person, dear. It’s fantastic, whenever ’Life’ premieres, I’ll be sure to watch the movie at the earliest opportunity to appreciate your performance.”

Zhou Yun: ”Thank you! If there’s a premiere, I’ll send you a ticket.”

”That’s great, I can watch it twice then,” said Lew Yuan.

Zhou Yun pulled out shoe covers she had prepared in advance.

”Do you want coffee or tea?” Zhou Yun asked.

Lew Yuan said, ”I’m okay, I brought a cup of coffee, prepared it when I left in the morning. I really can’t get going without coffee.”

Zhou Yun laughed and said, ”Big bro Lew Yuan, you should exercise more, you can’t just rely on coffee to stay sharp.”

It was the first time Lew Yuan had come to admire Zhou Yun’s residence.

”I’m the last person who likes to exercise, drinking at night, coffee in the morning, for me, that’s the life of a god.”

Zhou Yun heard this and laughed heartily.

”Is this a house you rented?” asked Lew Yuan.

Zhou Yun shook her head, saying, ”It’s an apartment provided by the company. My previous place got discovered, so I moved here. It’s safer since it’s closer to the company and most of the people living in this building work at the company, so I’ve been staying here.”

Lew Yuan said, ”I heard you love to read, especially mystery novels. This is a signed copy of ’Train’ by Miyuki Miyabe I got from a friend.”

He took out a book from his bag.

Zhou Yun let out a surprised shriek, ”Wow! Really? Miyuki Miyabe?”

She took it into her hands, letting out another cry of surprise.

”This is just amazing!”

Seeing Zhou Yun so excited, Lew Yuan also felt pleased.

The great joy of giving gifts is seeing that the recipient loves them.

”There aren’t many girls around me who love mystery novels, so I gave it to you,” Lew Yuan said. ”I hope you like it.”
