Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 389: Chapter 319: First Light: 2_4

Xiao Bei’s eyes immediately lit up.

”Let’s go, take Auntie to your room to see if there’s anything you can’t take with you and need Auntie to sell for you, just tell Auntie,” Zhou Yun said.

Xiao Bei lifted his head excitedly and took the initiative to hold Zhou Yun’s hand, saying, ”I have sorted everything out.”

Zhou Yun said to Lew Yuan and Zhong Zhihui, ”Then I will go with Xiao Bei to his room.”

Lew Yuan nodded with a smile and said, ”Go ahead.”

Zhou Yun’s accompanying cameraman followed them in.

Xiao Bei curiously glanced at the photographer, seeming a bit puzzled, but he didn’t ask.

His father must have explained it to him beforehand.

Zhou Yun sat in Xiao Bei’s room, listening to him introducing every item he was reluctant to part with but had to sell.

”Actually, I want to take them all, but dad said I can only bring three toys,” Xiao Bei said with a pout, ”So, I can only sell these. It would be nice if I could give them to friends, but I know my dad doesn’t have a job right now, and it would be good if I could earn some money to help dad.”

Zhou Yun felt a bit heartbroken hearing Xiao Bei’s sensible words.

She patted Xiao Bei’s head and said, ”It’s okay, once we sell these toys, you will have even more toys in the future.”

Xiao Bei hummed in response, though not very enthusiastically.

Perhaps the child had already realized that he might not be able to buy whatever toys he wanted in the future.

”Can you tell Auntie which three toys you decided to keep?” Zhou Yun asked.

Xiao Bei, cherishing the toys like treasure, dragged a small box out from under the bed, opened it, and said, ”These three, one is a birthday gift from dad, another is a birthday gift from mom, and this one—this Ultraman, it was given to me by Meimei.”

Zhou Yun asked curiously, ”Who is Meimei?”

Xiao Bei’s eyes shone as he said, ”She’s my classmate, my best friend.”

Then he suddenly became downcast again, saying, ”But I won’t be able to see her much in the future.”

He would no longer go to school in Shanghai and would have to go back to his hometown with his father, naturally making it impossible to continue being classmates with Meimei.

Zhou Yun patted Xiao Bei’s head and said, ”Xiao Bei, even if you can’t be classmates anymore, you can still be good friends. You might not be able to meet often, but you can call each other and write letters, right?”

Xiao Bei nodded his head.

”Also, you will be able to make many new friends, and you can introduce your new friends to Meimei,” Zhou Yun said.

Xiao Bei didn’t say anything.

Zhou Yun suddenly wondered if Xiao Bei really believed what she was saying.

...

The production team set up a sales booth in a place with a large flow of people.

Zhou Yun and Lew Yuan both used their celebrity effect to attract people to buy these items.

In about half an hour, all the items were sold out.

Not surprisingly.

According to the program’s schedule, in the evening, Lew Yuan and Zhou Yun were supposed to invite Zhong Zhihui and Xiao Bei to dinner and give them the money earned from the sales.

They packed up and went back to Zhong Zhihui’s house.

Just as they were arriving at the door, Zhou Yun heard heart-wrenching cries coming from inside the house; it was Xiao Bei’s crying.

”Daddy, daddy—”

What had happened?

Zhou Yun immediately changed her expression and hurried to knock on the door, ”Xiao Bei? Xiao Bei? It’s Auntie Zhou Yun, what’s wrong?”

Xiao Bei, crying, ran to open the door, and after opening the door, Zhou Yun saw Xiao Bei’s face, red from sobbing.

”Xiao Bei, what happened?”

”Daddy passed out!”
