Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 388: Chapter 319: First Light: 2_3

She felt embarrassed to even mention the word ”disability”.

Lew Yuan said, ”I don’t know, and I didn’t ask them to find out. It doesn’t matter; the focus shouldn’t be on why his wife left him. I don’t want the audience to focus on that.”

Zhou Yun nodded.

Lew Yuan and Zhou Yun went upstairs together and arrived at Zhong Zhihui’s front door.

Judging from the location and the neighborhood, the family’s quality of life wasn’t bad.

Being able to own a 160 square meter apartment in this part of Shanghai meant they were quite successful.

Standing at the door, Zhou Yun suddenly felt a bit nervous.

”Xiao Yun, are you nervous?” Lew Yuan keenly noticed the change in Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun took a deep breath, nodded, and said, ”A little.”

Actually, she was quite afraid of confronting someone going through misfortune. The suffering of others gave her a sense of guilt and remorse.

Lew Yuan patted Zhou Yun’s shoulder and said, ”It’s okay, Mr. Zhong has a very optimistic nature. The program’s team has communicated with him many times, and they all say Mr. Zhong is very interesting.”

Hearing Lew Yuan say this, Zhou Yun felt relieved and less anxious.

”Ding dong.” Lew Yuan pressed the doorbell.

After a while, a childish voice came from inside, ”Who is it?”

A boy.

That must be Zhong Zhihui’s son.

Lew Yuan smiled and said, ”I’m Lew Yuan. Are you Xiao Bei?”

”How do you know my name?” the little boy asked in surprise.

Then a mature male voice came from inside.

”Xiao Bei, who are you talking to? Do we have visitors?”

”Dad, someone rang the doorbell.”

The door opened.

Zhou Yun was somewhat surprised.

The face inside the door was actually very handsome.

He had some stubble, but it didn’t detract from his sharp features at all.

”Teacher Lew, it’s you, welcome. Please, come in. I thought you’d be a while longer; sorry about the mess, we’re cleaning up,” Zhong Zhihui said as he opened the door and stepped aside.

The room was indeed a little messy, with boxes large and small piled on the floor.

Lew Yuan asked, ”When are you planning on moving, Mr. Zhong?”

”The day after tomorrow,” Zhong Zhihui replied.

”That soon?” Zhou Yun exclaimed in surprise.

Zhong Zhihui smiled and said, ”I found a new job back in my hometown. I start next Monday, so I need to move a couple of days earlier to get settled.”

”Have you found a place there?” Lew Yuan asked.

”Yes, I bought an apartment back home a while ago. It’s more convenient, and after I move back, my parents can help take care of Xiao Bei,” Zhong Zhihui said.

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but notice the empty sleeve of Zhong Zhihui’s shirt.

She forced herself to shift her attention and greeted Xiao Bei.

”Hello, Xiao Bei, I’m Zhou Yun.” She squatted down, extended her hand, and greeted the handsome boy who had inherited his father’s good looks, ”How old are you?”

”Eight,” Xiao Bei said, blinking his big eyes bashfully at Zhou Yun, ”Auntie is so pretty.”

”At such a young age and already so sweet-talking, do many girls like you?” Zhou Yun teased.

Xiao Bei was shy and didn’t say anything.

Zhong Zhihui poured tea for both of them.

Zhou Yun felt extremely awkward having a man with only one arm serving her tea and quickly said, ”I can get it myself, Mr. Zhong.”

”No problem, I can still do these small tasks,” Zhong Zhihui said.

The smile on his face made Zhou Yun feel like she had said the wrong thing.

She shouldn’t have been so overly cautious.

Zhou Yun felt sorry and a bit uneasy.

Suddenly, Xiao Bei came over, sitting beside her, and said, ”Auntie, are you friends with my mom?”

”Huh?” Zhou Yun was taken aback.

At this moment, Zhong Zhihui called out to Xiao Bei, ”What has Daddy told you? Mommy is working overseas, and these uncles and aunts are Daddy’s friends.”

Xiao Bei let out a disappointed ”Oh,” hanging his head in dejection.

Zhou Yun saw a plea in Zhong Zhihui’s eyes.

She realized he hadn’t told Xiao Bei the truth about his wife leaving him.

”What’s wrong? I’m your dad’s friend, don’t you welcome me?” Zhou Yun asked.

Xiao Bei shook his head and said, ”No, I just miss Mom a bit.”

The little boy’s eyes reddened slightly.

Zhou Yun hugged him into her arms and said, ”Auntie feels the same, I haven’t seen my mom for a long time, and I miss her very much. No wonder I felt a special closeness when I saw you. We can be good friends, as we both miss our moms.”
