Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 390: Chapter 320: First Light: 3

Zhou Yun and Lew Yuan saw Zhong Zhihui collapsed on the ground in the restroom, with quite a bit of blood under his head, the scene looked somewhat frightening.

Zhou Yun let out an involuntary shout.

Lew Yuan turned back and yelled: ”Quickly dial 120, call an ambulance!”

The production crew couldn’t care less about filming the show anymore; those who could make calls did, and those who knew first-aid rushed forward hurriedly.

Chaos ensued.

Xiao Bei was crying so hard that he was gasping for breath. Zhou Yun had no choice but to wrap him in her arms, gently comforting him.

”It’s okay, Xiao Bei, trust Auntie, Daddy will definitely be okay...”

At this moment, Zhou Yun didn’t know what else she could say.

Xiao Bei was enveloped in her embrace.

Like a young animal, when its body shudders spasmodically, you can’t help but want to build a fortress for this life.

When Zhou Yun felt Xiao Bei’s terror and fear, her only thought was to hope that her presence could bring him a bit of comfort and a sense of security.

Fortunately, Zhong Zhihui was not seriously injured.

Zhong Zhihui had accidentally slipped and fallen while cleaning the restroom, hitting his head on a sharp corner and passing out.

The blood was from a gash on his head.

Thankfully, thankfully, there was no real harm done.

Having learned this news while waiting with Xiao Bei in the hospital, Zhou Yun let out a long sigh of relief.

She turned and exchanged a glance with Lew Yuan who stayed behind to await news.

Both saw a sense of relief in each other’s eyes.

Xiao Bei had fallen asleep.

He was leaning against Zhou Yun’s shoulder, his eyes still red.

That’s how children’s energy is: fiery and intense when active, and as tender as the green grass of March when quieted down.

Zhou Yun whispered to Lew Yuan: ”Thank goodness we recorded the show today.”

Lew Yuan nodded, saying: ”Mr. Zhong’s decision is very sensible. Living with a child in Shanghai alone is indeed not easy; going back to his hometown, having uncles and aunts to help, would be much more convenient.”

”How did Mr. Zhong get injured in the first place?” Zhou Yun asked.

Lew Yuan replied: ”You might have seen the news before, a child fell from a building, and Mr. Zhong saw it and quickly ran over to catch the child. However, he sustained a comminuted fracture to his right arm. Despite many efforts, he didn’t recover well and ultimately had to undergo amputation surgery. This incident made the news at the time and caused quite a stir, with everyone praising him as a hero. However, as you know, it’s inconvenient to lose a hand. To make matters worse, since his wife left half a year ago, he had to look after Xiao Bei by himself. It became even harder to manage work, and after a few months, he couldn’t cope anymore, resulting in the idea to return to his hometown.”

Zhou Yun didn’t expect that behind Zhong Zhihui’s amputated arm lay such a heroic past.

She was both shocked and moved.

”Mr. Zhong is actually such a hero...” Zhou Yun asked herself if she would be willing to risk losing an arm to save that child if faced with the same situation.

Zhou Yun didn’t think she had that kind of courage.

”Daddy is a hero!” Xiao Bei suddenly said in a low voice.

He didn’t know when he had awakened.

Zhou Yun looked down at Xiao Bei, asking: ”When did you wake up? Did Uncle and Auntie’s conversation bother you?”

”No.” Xiao Bei shook his head, ”Can I go see Daddy?”

Zhou Yun said: ”Of course, you can. But we have to wait a bit, Daddy is still in the operating room. He has a cut on his head that needs to be stitched up. Oh right, Xiao Bei, you haven’t had dinner yet, have you?”

Xiao Bei hummed in agreement, rubbing his sleepy eyes.

Zhou Yun said: ”Let’s go eat something together first, I’m also hungry. Brother Lew, will you join us?”

Lew Yuan nodded and said okay.

Zhou Yun got Xiao Bei down and held his hand as they walked toward the elevator.

Only then did she realize that the cameramen were still there, still filming.

Zhou Yun was somewhat surprised.

”Hasn’t the camera been turned off yet?” Zhou Yun asked Lew Yuan.

Lew Yuan nodded and said: ”We’ve been recording all along. I had thought about stopping the recording, but after thinking it over seriously, maybe including this segment in the show would make people think more. Once Mr. Zhong is out of danger, I will consult his opinion to see if he’s willing to let this segment be aired.”

Zhou Yun nodded.

”But—” Lew Yuan seemed to have gotten a reminder, turned to the cameramen and said, ”Let’s stop here for today, everyone has worked hard, let’s pack up and rest. I’ll handle things here.”
