Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 377: Chapter 316: Rise Phase: 152_4

Song Chi said, ”I’ll be doing fewer dramas that take several months to shoot in the future.”

Long episodic TV series, each shooting for at least three months.

”But aren’t most of the drama productions in the market of this scale?” After all, TV series make money based on the number of episodes.

Song Chi said, ”My company is preparing several projects that are shorter series, generally about twelve to sixteen episodes. Additionally, I’ll still shift my focus onto movie production.”

Zhou Yun nodded, saying, ”You should have shifted your focus to filmmaking a long time ago.”

”I couldn’t help it, there were some personal obligations to fulfill,” Song Chi laughed.

Zhou Yun understood what Song Chi meant.

She said, ”Whatever you need me to do, just let me know.”

Song Chi said, ”I will.”

Zhou Yun said, ”You can’t act in all those projects you’re preparing, can you?”

”I’d like to, but I can’t split myself into multiple parts,” Song Chi said helplessly, ”Luckily, I’ve made quite a few friends over the years who can stand by me for the early productions using my face as an invite, but if the initial productions don’t do well, my face won’t sell anymore.”

”It’s okay, if others don’t buy it, I will,” Zhou Yun said, ”I’m going to become more and more popular.”

Song Chi smiled and said, ”With a Movie Queen like you backing me, I feel a lot more confident.”

Zhou Yun said, ”About that suitable project you sent me, I’ll discuss it with my company. There’s a role in it that I think is perfect for another actor managed by Sister Lan, named Wang Jing. If the cast isn’t finalized, do you want to consider her?”

Song Chi nodded, saying, ”The cast isn’t finalized yet, so since you think she’s suitable, bring her along.”

”Okay,” Zhou Yun nodded, ”I’ll talk to Sister Lan.”

...

Through Zhou Lan’s arrangement, they switched to a different hotel that evening.

After Zhou Lan returned from calling, she glanced at them and asked, ”Are you planning to stay in one room or two?”

Zhou Yun subconsciously answered, ”Two rooms.”

Song Chi glanced at her.

Afraid that Song Chi would slip up, Zhou Yun quickly said to Zhou Lan, ”But don’t you need to book a room for yourself too?”

It was a clumsy attempt to change the subject.

Zhou Yun knew her transition was abrupt and awkward, but had no choice.

Indeed, Zhou Lan gave Zhou Yun a look that said, ”Don’t think I don’t know what you’re hiding.”

Zhou Yun could only stiffen her neck pretending to be oblivious.

Zhang Cong came by car to pick them up.

Upon learning Song Chi suddenly changed hotels, Zhang Cong was surprised, ”Ah? But aren’t all your clothes still at the original hotel?”

Zhou Lan said, ”It’s fine, Brother Chi is only staying at the new place for a few days before returning.”

Zhang Cong suggested, ”Then I’ll go back and bring a few sets of clothes over.”

Song Chi acknowledged with a hum.

Suddenly, Zhou Yun remembered that her luggage was also still at the previous hotel.

She had to turn to the ’understanding’ Zhou Lan with an innocent expression.

Zhou Lan: ”...”

Once at the new hotel, Zhang Cong and Zhou Lan had to return to the original hotel with their room cards to fetch things for these two.

At the original hotel, they saw a large group of people waiting around at the entrance, with the hotel having assigned two security guards to watch.

Both Zhou Lan and Zhang Cong were familiar faces to the professional tabloid journalists, and if they entered outright, they would surely be recognized.

They had no choice but to sneak in through the back employee entrance.

After retrieving the items and regrouping, Zhou Lan placed the items in Zhang Cong’s car and said, ”You go ahead, don’t wait for me. I’ll give the journalists a heads-up so they don’t waste a night here.”

Zhang Cong nodded and drove off first.

Zhou Lan didn’t want Zhang Cong to wait because she didn’t want to be followed.

After watching Zhang Cong’s car leave, Zhou Lan casually approached the hotel entrance to tell the gathered journalists they could leave.

Needless to say, the journalists, who had been waiting for hours, must have felt utterly frustrated.

Zhou Lan directly created a WeChat group, saying, ”Everyone, scan to join this group. It’s been a tough day; I’ll send you some red packets to get a cup of milk tea to warm up. The weather is getting chilly; you don’t need to wait anymore.”

A journalist said, ”Sister Lan, have Zhou Yun show up for a bit so we can take something back to report.”

Zhou Lan jested, ”Stop playing that game, which media hasn’t made a tidy sum in advertising fees today? I’ve generated so much traffic for you!”
