Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 387: Chapter 319: First Light: 2_2

”I really, really, really love it! Super love it!” Zhou Yun said excitedly, ”Oh my, Lew Yuan big brother, what can I possibly give you next time? This is such a surprise!”

Lew Yuan: ”It’s okay, whatever you give me, I’ll like it.”

...

After this part of the recording finished, the microphones on Zhou Yun and Lew Yuan were switched off.

Lew Yuan and Zhou Yun set off in a car to today’s filming location.

On the way, Zhou Yun asked curiously: ”Big brother Lew Yuan, why did you want to record a show like this?”

Such a theme had never appeared on the market before, and it wasn’t exactly ”interesting”.

Strictly speaking, if it weren’t for Lew Yuan hosting the program, it would be a question whether it could even find sponsoring brands.

And if it weren’t for Lew Yuan, the invitation to this show would never have been sent to Zhou Yun by Zhou Lan.

The reason was simple: it wouldn’t be a hit.

Even though Zhou Yun was now a part of this show, she still felt that it wouldn’t take off. To be precise, she didn’t even understand what the purpose of the show was.

Finding unwanted items and selling them off.

A practice of minimalism?

Lew Yuan smiled and said, ”Actually, I was moved by the planning of this show. When they presented the planning document to me, I saw several amateur guests they had selected before, among them a girl; she once had a boyfriend and they lived together for about half a year, during which she was abused by him several times. She finally managed to break up and escape from the shadows, and now she wanted to sell all the things that held their shared memories because she didn’t want to remember that past. And there was an old lady who two months ago faced a tragedy in her life; her son’s family had died in a car accident, and the government was worried about her living alone without any support, so they were sending her to a nursing home, where she could only take a limited number of items, and she had to sell most of her belongings. I came across many stories like these and felt that making a program like this is actually very meaningful. The act of selling something is simple, but behind every act, there’s a different story. I think these stories are worth sharing with more people.”

Zhou Yun suddenly understood Lew Yuan’s intention.

”So that’s how it is.”

Lew Yuan nodded and said, ”Didn’t think of that at first?”

Zhou Yun said, ”I hadn’t thought of it. I assumed it was just a show about the concept of minimalism.”

Lew Yuan smiled and said, ”Based on the name of the show, it does seem similar, ’Flowers and Things’.”

”Then why choose such a name? The name sounds kind of... how should I put it, it has a flashy, indulgent vibe to it,” said Zhou Yun.

Lew Yuan said, ”Because I don’t really want the show to have an overly heavy atmosphere, I just want to share different slices of life.”

Zhou Yun: ”Am I recording the first episode?”

Lew Yuan shook his head and said, ”You’re in the second episode, we’ve already recorded the first one.”

Zhou Yun said, ”I’m glad this show met you. To be honest, if I didn’t know that you were hosting this program, I wouldn’t have joined after seeing its name and synopsis. Indeed, I can trust your vision.”

Lew Yuan laughed and said, ”The guest I invited for the first episode was Liang Yuanpu, Mr. Liang, and he said the same thing as you.”

”Mr. Liang?” Zhou Yun asked in surprise, ”He’s also recorded for the show? Ah, if I had known, I would have applied to record with him.”

Lew Yuan said, ”It’s alright, next time I’ll introduce you.”

Lew Yuan has been in the hosting industry for many years and knows almost everyone in the circle. This is a convenience granted by his professional attributes.

Zhou Yun said thanks while smiling.

Upon arrival, they switched their microphones back on and stopped discussing these private topics.

Today’s guest for the show was a middle-aged man who had gotten a divorce.

A year ago, he lost his Left Hand due to a work accident, becoming disabled; six months ago, his wife left him, leaving behind a son.

Because the cost of living in a big city was too high, this man decided to take his son back to his hometown. Before leaving, there were many things that needed to be dealt with. If he could sell them, it would be a significant amount of income.

This man’s name was Zhong Zhihui.

Lew Yuan explained this man’s background to Zhou Yun beforehand.

After hearing this, Zhou Yun felt a surge of compassion.

”Why did his wife leave him?” Zhou Yun quietly asked, ”Because of... the accident he had?”
