Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 382: Chapter 318: First Light: 1_3

She exaggerated her complaints on purpose, trying to cheer Song Chi up a bit.

Song Chi smiled faintly.

Zhou Yun said, ”Aren’t you supposed to go to the film set? Hurry up and take a shower.”

Song Chi sighed, nodded, and stood up to leave.

Zhou Yun knew what was bothering and annoying Song Chi.

In her heart, just like Song Chi, in addition to anger, there was also a feeling of helplessness.

As a celebrity and public figure, in some matters, they could only suppress their feelings and leave without saying a word, just like they did just now.

If not for so many considerations, Zhou Yun really wanted to stop and thoroughly explain to that annoying female reporter what hiding, deception, and apologies truly meant.

Whether it was her or Song Chi, when have they ever established a public persona with their fans that they were single and not dating?

Zhou Yun also knew that many things the female reporter said were meant to provoke them, to get them to say a few words.

Just a few words would make a sensational news piece, which would mean a hefty bonus and a chance at fame for them.

But it was exactly this kind of tone, posing as righteous and pushing them into the role of villains, that was infuriating.

A while later, someone knocked on the door.

Zhou Yun thought Zhou Lan had come back and went to check through the peephole, but it turned out to be Zhang Cong, Song Chi’s assistant.

He was probably here to pick up Song Chi.

Zhou Yun opened the door and said, ”We just got back. Song Chi is showering. Come in and wait a bit.”

Zhang Cong smiled and nodded, saying, ”Thank you, Sister Xiao Yun.”

The two were actually about the same age, but Zhang Cong also addressed her as Sister Xiao Yun, just as Zhou Lan, who is older than Song Chi, also called him Brother Chi.

Zhou Yun asked, ”His film is about to wrap up, right? The schedule must be quite hectic recently?”

Zhang Cong shook his head and said, ”It’s been okay these few days.”

Of course, he couldn’t tell Zhou Yun that Song Chi had postponed as many scenes as he could to the future, just so he could spend more time with Zhou Yun.

Some assistants might think they should be ”clever” and spill these details.

But Zhang Cong knew what kind of person Song Chi was, and also knew that Song Chi genuinely did not want Zhou Yun to know about these arrangements.

Song Chi did not want to burden Zhou Yun’s heart.

Zhang Cong would certainly listen to his boss.

He must feign ignorance when it was required.

”Do you have a girlfriend?” Zhou Yun asked.

Zhang Cong’s eyes widened dramatically and he stammered, ”Wh-why are you asking me this all of a sudden?”

Zhou Yun said, ”Just curious.”

Zhang Cong blushed and stammered, ”Not yet.”

Zhou Yun asked, ”Is it because you’re too busy with work usually?”

”Pro-probably.” Zhang Cong suddenly regretted coming in. He should have waited in the hallway. Why did he come in to face such an awkward question?

At that moment, Song Chi came out of the shower.

He was drying his wet hair with a towel and seeing Zhang Cong sitting stiffly on the sofa like an obedient elementary school student in class, Song Chi laughed and asked, ”Why are you sitting so stiff? Being interrogated?”

Zhang Cong thought, pretty much.

He said, ”Brother Chi, we should hurry.”

Song Chi nodded, ”Right away.”

He went back into the bedroom to get dressed.

Zhou Yun stared at Zhang Cong for a long time and said, ”You are handsome and cute, there must be a lot of girls who like you and confess to you, right?”

Zhang Cong wondered if Zhou Yun was always this nosy.

Probably not.

His face turned even redder.

He shook his head.

”No.”

At this time, Zhou Lan finally returned and knocked on the door. Zhang Cong swiftly stood up and said, ”I’ll get the door.”

He eagerly went to open the door.

Zhou Lan walked in with a CD in her hand, like a victorious female general, triumphantly saying, ”I got a copy of the surveillance footage. If that female reporter dares to cause trouble, I’ll slap this surveillance record onto her face. I hope she learns to be kind and behaves herself, not causing trouble.”

Zhang Cong, unaware of the background, only heard Zhou Lan’s statement like a serpent spitting venom, and felt a chill.

That’s terrifying.

Zhou Yun laughed and said, ”Sister Lan goes into battle and is sure to succeed.”

As her words fell, Song Chi came out dressed.

”How did it go?” Song Chi asked.

Zhou Lan gave an ”ok” gesture, ”Don’t worry, it’s all taken care of.”

Song Chi nodded, clearly trusting Zhou Lan completely without asking for details, then turned to Zhou Yun and said, ”Then I’m heading to the film set now. I might come back late tonight, don’t wait up for me, go to sleep first.”
