Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 353: Chapter 308: Rising Phase: 144

”The last thing, Shi Luoqi contacted me, ’Falling Leaves’ is planning to start shooting,” Zhou Lan said.

”Are they ready to start filming? Is the final script ready?” Zhou Yun asked.

The previous delay was because the script hadn’t been finalized.

Xue Qin was very concerned about her first piece of work and was not willing to proceed hastily.

Zhou Lan nodded and said, ”Shi Luoqi told me that she has seen the final script and is very satisfied. She is coordinating with us regarding your schedule.”

”When do they plan to film this movie?” Zhou Yun asked.

”They plan to start filming in December and continue until February of next year,” Zhou Lan sighed and said, ”It’s just that if that’s the case, you won’t have any time to rest. In March next year, we also promised Director Wen Bing that we would make a special appearance in his new film ’Two Tigers’, and then we have to shoot another movie in cooperation with New Shield, ’Four Killers’.”

Zhou Yun, looking bewildered, said, ”Non-stop, huh.”

”Yes, we’ve taken on too many films before,” Zhou Lan said. ”Luckily, there are no conflicts between these films’ schedules, otherwise, we would have had to give up one or two of them.”

These films were all signed with letters of intent. Many people think that if there is a scheduling conflict, the project will wait for the lead actor, but that’s not the case. A project needs to coordinate the time of far too many people, not to mention the behind-the-scenes production team, including the director and other actors. It’s not possible to wait endlessly for one person. Especially for actors like Zhou Yun, who has back-to-back film shoots without any breaks, waiting would likely start at six months or even a year. Therefore, it often happens that when there is a scheduling conflict, the original lead actor drops out, and someone else steps in to save the day.

Zhou Yun said, ”That means I pretty much won’t have any time left next year.”

”Yes, if we’re lucky, we might be able to clear a little less than half a year,” Zhou Lan said. ”By then, if we really take on a film from the company, we must get them to write the script shorter, not another forty or fifty episodes all at once, which would take half a year to shoot. I think in the future when we take on TV dramas, we should still try to take on shorter ones that can be completed in one or two months. Long dramas are too prone to dilution.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Let’s see the script first.”

At this time, Zheng Xiaojue called to say that they had arrived.

Zhou Yun said goodbye to Zhou Lan and went downstairs.

Although ’Gentle Little Horse’ is a comedy film and not shot in a documentary style, Zhou Yun still hoped that when it came to her performance, some details would have a sense of reality.

So, she wanted to see what the real life shampoo girls were like and what their working conditions were.

This observation took up the whole day.

It wasn’t until the evening that Zhou Yun, dragging along Zheng Xiaojue and Cao Jun, went to have dinner.

”Their work is so hard,” Zhou Yun said after sitting down. ”At first, I thought washing hair for someone wasn’t physically demanding and wouldn’t be exhausting.”

Xiaoju said, ”There’s a sister from the same town where I live, she does this for a living. The salons we observed today are actually quite formal and the conditions are good. Some of the other salons are not so formal, the environment is not as good as the ones we visited today, they are understaffed, and during busy times, they can’t catch a break for several hours, ending up with sore waists. Some customers also dislike the feel of gloves, insisting they take them off, and sometimes after a whole day, their hands are all pale and pruny from the water.”
