Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 289: Chapter 287: The Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin Takes Action

The players from Qiufeng City employed their innate strangeness methods, but they never figured out one thing.

Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin does not permit any battle during the day, but does not forbid the release of Undead or strangeness.

If it were forbidden, there would not have been a prompt at the beginning telling them to ensure the identity of the Undead or Demons under their command during the day.

For the same reason, all strangeness in this city strikes from unnoticed positions.

To act out in front of the Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin and declare themselves as strange is blatantly embarrassing this grand Strangeness figure.

Just with one glance at them, Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin slowly raised her left hand, holding a Jade Purification Bottle of Guanyin in her left hand.

Seeing this action, Wu Hetong’s mind tightened, and without hesitation, he crushed the item in his hand and ran away!

[Wu Hetong from Bailian City has exited this world!]

As this voice echoed in the ears of all players, they all understood the situation before them.

At the same time, all the players noticed the hint of confusion and anger on the face of the Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin Statue.

It was as if her face had been slapped.

Her gaze changed when she looked at the five players from Qiufeng City.

Seeing this, the five players didn’t shout, instead, they immediately activated their powers, intending to escape quickly.

However, no matter how fast they moved, they couldn’t be faster than the Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin Statue.

Just by raising the position of the Jade Purification Bottle slightly, the five players were sucked into it.

Then, a series of announcement sounds echoed in the ears of all players.

[Gao Pu from Qiufeng City has died in battle.]

[Lou Kai from Qiufeng City has died in battle.]

[Xu Yuewei from Qiufeng City has died in battle.]

[Niu Yong from Qiufeng City has died in battle.]

[Shi Tousan from Qiufeng City has died in battle.]

The string of battle death announcements poured cold water on all the players.

They all realized that in the presence of the Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin Statue, their powers were insignificant.

Some players felt a desire to retreat and quickly withdrew to what they considered safe areas.

But Gu Xi did not stop his steps. He continued to head towards the Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin Statue as before.

Gu Xi wanted to observe over there, to see if he could discover players from other cities.

That confrontation just now had already solidified the relationships between players from the three cities; every player wished for players from other cities to die.

Now, discovering an enemy player is a significant opportunity.

Gu Xi intended to use this chance to keep an eye on a few more.

Indeed, as he walked toward the Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin Statue, Gu Xi noticed some players hurriedly walking back.

They tried hard to calm themselves, to appear as ordinary people of this world, but their hurried steps and fearful expressions betrayed them.

Gu Xi did not follow them but watched from afar, remembering their characteristics and where they lived, planning to sneak in for an attack at night.

Through his observations, Gu Xi also noticed the differences between the players from Qiufeng City and Cold Leaf City.

Qiufeng City’s players were mainly Order Mages. According to the intelligence Gu Xi had, once they activate an innate strangeness, their souls transform into Spirit Bodies to control the power of strangeness.

Therefore, whenever they use strange power, their eyes turn a phosphorescent blue instantly, and their tools and equipment also transform into strangeness.

Even though they currently appeared as normal items, they stood out when worn.

For example, Gu Xi immediately spotted a male player wearing blood-red high heels. Although not many noticed his condition, it was clear that the high heels were his controlled innate strangeness.

Cold Leaf City’s players followed the Demon route; though they were all Demon Sorcerers, they carried some Demon aura on them.

After transforming into a normal appearance, their skin color might have returned to normal, but their height and other features were unchangeable.

Male players from Cold Leaf City were typically taller than average, often starting at 1.9 meters tall, with strong and muscular builds.

Their weapons and equipment turned into accessories, directly attached to their bodies, making them look like members of a biker gang or non-mainstream individuals.

The females were mostly Enchanting Demons, with perfect figures, but exuded a seductive aura.

Their gear would stick close to their tailbone, noticeable only upon closer inspection.

Cold Leaf City players were the hardest to disguise during the day.

Their height and physique were their most obvious weaknesses.

In contrast, the Undead Mages weren’t too conspicuous during the day, as long as they didn’t release the Undead Corps or parade with a crowd of minions, there was no issue.

Along the way, Gu Xi also spotted several Undead Mage players. The reason Gu Xi recognized them was not because of their looks.

After entering this world, all players’ faces were altered so they wouldn’t be recognized due to some individuals’ fame, causing others to flee.

Even though Gu Xi had some good friends from the Nether Bone Wind Academy in this world, he couldn’t recognize them by their faces.

Recognition could only come through communication and familiar actions.

The reason Gu Xi could identify those as Undead Mages was because they played even more flamboyantly than the Demon Sorcerers.

Last time, the Demon Sorcerer Duan Wheel whom Gu Xi encountered played with an Enchanting Demon and ended up losing his life.

These Undead Mage players, however, were on a high-level play.

Ghost Ladies couldn’t fathom how they managed to engage with them.

Initially, Gu Xi thought they were haunted by ghosts when he saw them accompanied by white-clothed Ghost Ladies.

Later, he realized what kind of relationship they had with those Ghost Ladies.

Gu Xi had to admit that Undead Mages indeed have unimaginable capabilities.

Regarding players from the same city, Gu Xi had no intention of striking.

It’s still daytime, and most Bailian City players haven’t summoned their Contracted Undead or brought out their Undead Corps.

At this time, it was unclear if players from the same city were enemies or allies.

But come tonight, it will be different.

When the Undead Mages from Bailian City utilize their Undead Corps, violating the rules and getting removed from the leaderboard, then those on the leaderboard will become enemies.

No matter if they’re from the same city or not, by tomorrow, that leaderboard will become a wanted list.
