Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 264: Chapter 262: Extremely Generous Royal Family Rewards

”Alright, we’ve finished our task. You all take a look and find a safe place to hide. Don’t charge in from the most dangerous spot only to die at the last moment—that’s not a good outcome.”

Speaking to the soldiers still kneeling on the ground, Gu Xi, accompanied by Shaya and other troops, turned and left.

”Shaya, Victoria City is in your hands now. Carry the Furnace Stone, and we’ll return once Victoria City is rebuilt.”

As Gu Xi spoke, he toyed with the newly acquired Furnace Whistle.

In truth, holding the Furnace Whistle stirred some thoughts in Gu Xi about staying behind.

But after considering it, Gu Xi decided to pass up this chance.

The person behind this is no simple figure.

Gu Xi can handle being around Level 10, but what about Level 15 or Level 20?

Currently stuck at Level 4, Gu Xi’s Death Incarnation hasn’t grown, so he lacks confidence against experts.

Therefore, Gu Xi plans to find a way to fulfill the prerequisite for Talent Activation upon returning, preparing for a push to Level 5.

As for the matter at Westminster Cathedral, he still has four more chances. There’s no rush to come back.

Just as Gu Xi and his team were preparing to leave, the crows who took Eldest Princess Anna returned.

Several crows landed in front of Gu Xi, with the leader holding a badge with a ribbon in its beak.

Before Gu Xi could react, a parchment was thrust before him.

[You received a Duke Title Order (White).]

[Duke Title Order (White): Proof that you’ve received a title from a country. With this proof, your status will be elevated in all games. Your current title is Court Baron.]

Upon receiving the parchment, Gu Xi immediately got this message.

Meanwhile, Gu Xi noticed two lines of small text below.

[Your Battle Banner is influenced by the title and will feature an additional star as a mark.]

[Star of the Title: Represents the Court Baron’s title, under the Battle Banner, all soldiers’ morale +1.]

Regarding the newly emerged Star of the Title, Gu Xi was left speechless.

It’s true that Victoria City is a Human City, but why aren’t you prejudiced against the Undead Mage, yet grant the title to boost morale?

What use does a Undead Mage have for morale?

Soon after, the crows presented the badge with the ribbon to Gu Xi.

Gu Xi took it and quickly checked the attributes.

[You received a Medal of Valor Ribbon (Blue Treasure).]

[Medal of Valor Ribbon (Blue Treasure): An external accessory that can be worn over clothing, functioning as fashion gear. When equipped, it provides four additional decoration slots, wearer morale +1, Diplomacy Skill +1.]

Another piece of equipment that boosts morale.

Gu Xi felt a bit speechless, and further wondered about the Diplomacy Skill.

Does Victoria City give items based on whim?

However, it’s fortunate that donning this ribbon adds four decoration slots, unlike other players who only have two ring slots and two decoration slots.

This gives Gu Xi the ability to wear four more pieces of equipment than others—a fair gain, after all.

With that in mind, Gu Xi wasn’t dismissive and directly donned the Merit Badge Ribbon on his shoulders.

Afterward, two more crows arrived before Gu Xi. One had a book in its beak, while the other held a mass that resembled black fog.

Seeing these two crows crowding in front of him, Gu Xi didn’t know which to take first.

He could only extend both hands and simultaneously claim the items from the crows’ beaks.

[You received Path to the Underworld (Blue)]

[You received Spirit Tomb Aura (Blue)]

[Path to the Underworld (Blue): Contains information on the pathways to the Netherworld in the newly conquered Northern New Continent. However, in the New Continent, the formal Netherworld can no longer be found. Reading this book can enhance knowledge of the Netherworld, Undead Domination, Undead Enhancement, Soul Whisper, and other related information.]

[Spirit Tomb Aura (Blue): A comprehensive set of design plans for Spirit Tomb series buildings, ranging from basic Spirit Tombs to Ghost Mounds, Abandoned Towers, Haunted Towers, etc. Additionally, it includes all auxiliary buildings related to ghosts, such as Ghost Converter, Ghost Tower, Wailing Wall, etc.]

Seeing these two rewards, Gu Xi finally realized the gap between himself and a formal state.

He’s still striving for a large Architectural Design Plan, while the reward offered is directly a complete system of design plans.

With this Spirit Tomb Aura, Gu Xi’s Ghost Corps no longer has anything to worry about.

No matter what type of ghost he wishes for, he can find a corresponding plan.

At present, Gu Xi lacks extra land in Yalidu City.

As for Path to the Underworld, there’s not enough experience to consume; without the Griffin’s Necromancy Book protection, Gu Xi wouldn’t dare directly read it here.

He’s planning to head to the library, find time to slowly read and gradually enhance his Skill Level.

Once Gu Xi put away these two items, the last crow came before him.

It glanced at Gu Xi, offering nothing, merely pecking his forehead.

[You received the Crow’s Blessing; your Intelligence +3, and two random Professional Skills Level +1.]

[Your Wraith Whiskers Level increased to Level 2, influence range increased by 30 meters.]

[Your Bone Spike Level increased to Level 2, capable of releasing two Bone Spikes simultaneously.]

Before Gu Xi could respond, the crows abruptly took flight as they had arrived.

Gu Xi wanted to hold them back, but these crows had no interest in him.

Only after the crows flew away did Gu Xi turn his head again; this time, there was nothing left to command.

Leaving Shaya and her troops behind, Gu Xi recalled all other troops through the City Gate back to Yalidu City.

He glanced up at Victoria Tower, and Gu Xi inwardly vowed: Upon returning, I’ll prepare my troops. Find time to conquer Yaliduvi Tower. When I have such a fortress, let’s see how mighty you can still act.

With this in mind, Gu Xi entered Yalidu City’s City Gate.

The moment he stepped through, the Furnace Whistle hanging beside Gu Xi suddenly screeched.

Gu Xi was puzzled, but in the next instant, similar sounds echoed from various directions in Victoria City.

That’s when Gu Xi understood; his guess was right—the Furnace Whistle is a part of a set.

Someone plotting against Victoria is undertaking a major plan.

If Gu Xi took the Furnace Whistle out of Victoria City, it’d mean disrupting the other’s scheming.

Thus, the Furnace Whistle was alerting the enemy about the item’s location.

Having realized this, Gu Xi actually laughed.

”You’re quite something, huh? I enjoy seeing you angry yet unable to touch me—go ahead, have the might to chase me to Yalidu City.”
