Crunch crunch!

Squinting his eyes, Gu Xi looked around the carriage, which was swaying and carried a hint of a rotting odor. It made Gu Xi somewhat unsure if he was on a regular train or some sort of eerily transformed ghost train.

He looked down at himself. Influenced by an unknown power, all his equipment had turned into inconspicuous items. The most stylish Reversed Witch Demon Shoulder Guard on his body had now transformed into buttons on his clothes, pinned to his left and right collars.

The Spirit Lamp had turned into a bracelet made up of red strings wrapped around his left wrist.

The Cold Wind Staff became a pen filled with blue ink, tucked in his jacket pocket.

In addition, Gu Xi also noticed that his clothes had transformed into a loose business suit typically worn by office workers, and he was holding a black briefcase in his hand.

After glancing around and seeing no one else in the carriage, Gu Xi then opened the briefcase and took out a white piece of paper from inside.

[Welcome to the world 0RC2JDCT048860, player 629SHD2S0FXC30. This is a temporary world, also a dangerous one. Please note, taking your first step signifies acceptance of this world’s rules and agreements!]

[Rule 1: This is a challenge (crossed out) dangerous world. In this world, arbitrary exit is prohibited, and if killed in battle, it equates to normal death in the real world. (Note: The rule has temporarily changed, those who die in battle here will truly die.)]

[Rule 2: This world can accommodate a total of one thousand players. Players can gain corresponding points by completing tasks and killing monsters. The points will affect player rankings and final rewards. (Note: All cheating players will be removed from the leaderboard and banned from participating.)]

[Rule 3: The day and night rules are different in this world. Players are prohibited from using their abilities during the day, and if discovered, will face suppression from the world.]

[Note: All players will receive a new identity, including the Undead, Demon, and other servants brought by players will be affected by the identity. Please note, do not reveal your hidden daytime identity to others.]

[The above are all the rules of this world. If you can accept the rules and agreements, please proceed to enter the game world!]

As Gu Xi finished reading the information on the white paper, some banknotes and an ID card appeared in the briefcase.

Gu Xi did not rush to stand up but contemplated the blank white paper for a moment before putting it back into the briefcase.

With this action, the originally empty carriage began to fill with many office workers with their heads down, faces indiscernible.

Simultaneously, a ding sound resonated in Gu Xi’s mind, and preliminary information about this world popped up in front of him.

[Demon World and Warring States: In this world, the day is the Demon World, and among the crowd, there are countless eerie entities. When you do not see the eerie, it cannot see you either.

But when you discover the eerie, it can also notice your presence.

The eerie will use various methods to lure you into triggering their taboos.

Until nightfall, the eerie will vanish into darkness.

At night, this world will become a chaotic Warring States era. The eerie that appeared during the day will have weaknesses and rules revealed at night.

Every player needs to find the weaknesses and how to deal with the eerie at night, and then eliminate them during the day.

Each eerie slain will earn corresponding points, and the top ten in the rankings will receive grand prizes.]

[Treasures hidden in the dark: At night, numerous treasures guarded by many appear in this world. After defeating the guardians, players can obtain treasure clues.

Through clues, players can acquire genuine treasures during the day, with each treasure representing corresponding points that affect the point rankings.]

[Leaderboard: Once a player chooses to enter this world, they will automatically be placed on the leaderboard. The top ten upon the world’s termination will receive special rewards, with the first place receiving the treasure box known as Pandora’s Box.

Battles between players do not generate points, and victors cannot transfer points from the defeated. However, those slain are automatically removed from the leaderboard, as are those who exit the world voluntarily before its end.]

[Warring States Conspiracy: Every night, chaotic battles erupt across the world. Enemies killed at night yield no points but may provide resources.

Furthermore, during nighttime combat, players can occupy some buildings, which will provide corresponding ability support during the day.

Finally, the Warring States conflicts are not naturally occurring but are imbued with a special conspiracy. If you occupy a significant amount of territory, you may gradually uncover the corresponding conspiracy.

Note: Regardless of whether the final conspiracy has been discovered and dealt with, this task does not affect the leaderboard points.]

[Tales of the Demon World: At the dusk of day and night is when the eerie and Warring States simultaneously manifest, and during this time, every eerie will clearly see the presence of every player.

At this moment, if you are uncertain about dealing with the eerie, look for a safe house to hide in.

Please note, do not enter houses with a well behind, or houses with no occupants but the sound of a ball bouncing, as those often hide entities more terrifying than the eerie.]

[...]

[Daytime identity: You have a regular walking identity during the day, an identity that can conceal some of your information.

If another player discovers you during the day, they have many ways to thrust you into the abyss of death.

Be mindful that when you decide to take your servants onto the street, you should consider a suitable identity for them. Without an appropriate identity, detection by others is significantly enhanced.]

Looking at the information that popped up, Gu Xi was very clear that this was the task and also some basic rules of this world.

At the same time, it served as a reminder to the players: Don’t think that just because you’re level 4 now, all playing as Undead Mages or something, you’re still weaklings in this world.

Don’t jump.

Jumping means death.

Taking a deep breath, Gu Xi once again took out the ID card from the briefcase.

At the moment he picked up the ID card, another message popped up in front of Gu Xi.

[You have obtained the treasure, Strongman’s ID Card, earning 1 point, and now rank 11th.]

[Strongman’s ID Card: Influenced by the Duke Title Order, in this game, you will not start as a regular person. Holding the ID card, you can acquire identities such as department head in a large company, school dean, swordsmanship teacher, etc., with a certain status.]

[Note: To use the Strongman’s ID Card, hold it in hand and silently recite the desired identity for three seconds to complete the ID transformation. However, please note that if there are discrepancies between identity and behavior, the endowed identity will fail.]
