Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 272: Chapter 270: The Third Wave Strikes Early, Aerial Battle and Boss

”Didn’t we agree on 15 minutes? It’s only been a few, and I haven’t even finished cleaning the battlefield. Dishonorable, just die! Bone Storm!”

Gu Xi lifted the Cold Wind Staff, unleashing a series of attacks towards the sky.

This time, Gu Xi’s Bone Storm was aimed directly at the crows descending from the sky.

The first wave of crows that rushed down was immediately sucked in, with bone fragments slicing through their feathers and cutting their muscles, rendering them unable to control their flight, changing from a charging stance to a falling one.

It was at this moment that Gu Xi’s flying team swept past the crows shattered by the Bone Storm, continuing their upward flight.

The Death Incarnation charged at the forefront.

In fact, at this moment, using the Crystal Storm effect would have been more effective for the Death Incarnation.

But now Gu Xi had no time to have the Death Incarnation return to switch components, having to rely on the Starfire Nightmare Shadow against those crows.

As the Death Incarnation surged upward, accompanying it were not the Red Dragons, but the Corpse Poison Flies.

They were the fastest moving unit under Gu Xi.

Following them were the Red Dragons and Stone Golems.

As they charged upwards, they only flew up to about three hundred meters high and then stopped.

It wasn’t because they couldn’t go any higher, but because they had already intercepted the second wave of crows diving down at them.

At this height, Gu Xi couldn’t do much to help them since his spell’s range couldn’t reach that far.

Now it was up to the Death Incarnation and those flying units to demonstrate their own abilities.

Gu Xi remained confident in his forces; after all, thirty Red Dragons were enough to sweep through just about anything, let alone the fact he had a level 12 Death Incarnation there.

The power of the flames turned the sky red.

As the crows dove down, they got trapped in the flames, and their bodies were immediately set ablaze.

These crows weren’t phoenixes; they didn’t have the power to be reborn in flames, so when caught, they would just burn to death.

Those avoiding the range of the flames were dealt with by the Stone Golems and Corpse Poison Flies, so there was no need to worry about them flying downward.

As for close combat with the crows, that posed no problem either, as both Red Dragons and Death Incarnation were capable melee combatants. Although the crows were sizable, they were still much smaller compared to the Red Dragons.

Red Dragons often needed just one bite to kill a crow.

Not to mention, the Red Dragons could also swipe with their claws and strike with their tails, which were common dragon attack methods.

A single dragon could typically handle three to four enemies at a time easily.

Unless the enemy’s combat power was exceptionally strong or their size was large enough to overwhelm the giant dragon, regular battles were not a concern for a giant dragon.

Although the thirty Red Dragons were only 7th-level inferior dragons, against these crows they were more than adequate.

Seeing the situation in the sky, Gu Xi felt somewhat relieved; although he couldn’t help, the current scenario wasn’t too outrageous.

But then something unexpected happened—Gu Xi, who had been observing the battle, realized all the mirror images of Yalidov Tower in the sky had disappeared.

”Something isn’t right, everyone pay attention to your surroundings, strengthen defenses!”

Just as Gu Xi gave the command, a massive swarm of locusts surged in from outside the city gates. These locusts, each the size of a fist, flew in at least five to ten meters above the ground, and when they charged at Gu Xi, they seemed poised to bite and devour everything.

As soon as Gu Xi saw these locusts, he immediately raised the Cold Wind Staff.

”Death Ripple!”

With Gu Xi’s command, a black ripple expanded outward from him.

Where the ripple passed, the undead under Gu Xi weren’t affected, but those locusts met a dire fate, dropping dead immediately without a chance to react.

Watching the locusts fall like rain, Gu Xi didn’t relax.

He understood the situation with these locusts was similar to his Corpse Poison Flies—they functioned as a group, and as long as one remained alive, they could revive at any time.

So as the locusts hit the ground, Gu Xi immediately unleashed several more Death Ripples with the Cold Wind Staff.

Due to concerns about the range of Death Ripple, Gu Xi even moved the Evil Coffin to several positions until the entire area of Yalidov Tower was cleared, finally stopping.

Looking at the pile of locust corpses on the ground, Gu Xi felt a bit speechless.

What was up with this third wave of attacks, starting off so fiercely?

First the crow assault, and now the locusts—this isn’t allowing people to play at all.

He reluctantly accepted the crows.

After all, crows were frequent inhabitants at Victoria Tower, and Gu Xi had previously seen the place crows held in Britain, even in the eyes of the Royal Family.

But what was with these locusts? He had never heard of any tradition of rearing locusts in Britain.

With these thoughts in mind, Gu Xi hesitated for a moment, then turned around and shouted over the mound of locust bodies.

”Bring me a Fireball-casting Skeleton Mage and burn these locusts; I don’t want these corpses.”

As soon as Gu Xi gave the order, a Skeleton Mage proficient in Fireball Skill began casting, hurling fireballs at the pile of corpses.

Meanwhile, Gu Xi was carefully scanning the surroundings for any possible threats.

As the locust bodies burned, Gu Xi finally felt somewhat relieved.

He was about to look up and check on the ongoing aerial battle when suddenly, an anomaly occurred within the flames.

A strange creature with locust legs was climbing out of the fire.

Gu Xi noticed that as soon as it appeared, the remaining unburned locust bodies were rapidly converging towards it.

Clearly, this was a monster assembled from the locust corpses.

Seems like this is the final boss.

Trying to form a body from locust corpses, huh? Let me show you what an Undead Mage’s Corpse Burst combo is, or I’m not a competent Undead Mage.

Gu Xi pointed the Cold Wind Staff at the figure whose body was beginning to solidify.

”Corpse Burst!”

”Corpse Burst!”

”Corpse Burst!”

”...”

The power of Gu Xi’s Secondary Corpse Burst wasn’t particularly strong; after all, the life force of a single locust wasn’t high—one point at most. This was why Gu Xi could easily decimate a large swarm of locusts with Death Ripple.

However, Gu Xi precisely interrupted the creature’s consumption of locust corpses with every Corpse Burst.

After several bursts, the creature became furious, roaring as it charged towards Gu Xi.

At that moment, Gu Xi glanced at the ongoing aerial combat and decisively commanded, ”After the next Corpse Burst, launch a full-scale attack and kill this guy. Then we win!”
